Luca reloaded
and suddenly sprang up, shooting above the table. He ducked just
before a bullet tore off a piece of wood right above his head.
Ghost couldn’t help but stare, frozen to the floor, but when
Tooth’s gaze settled on him, guilt and shame flooded Ghost’s
stomach so hard he was getting nauseous. Ghost could handle a
bullet wound, sewing up an open stomach, even amputating a limb,
but this? He didn’t even recognize himself anymore. His palms were
sweaty, his breath irregular, and he could almost taste the Syrian
dust on his tongue.

Milk’s voice
cut through the noise like a knife through butter. “Drop the
motherfucking guns!”

The Nails
froze, but when a smile appeared on Tooth’s face, Ghost knew the
worst was over.

“Shove them
toward us,” Tooth commanded.

Luca fell back
on his ass and put the gun against his forehead, gasping. Ghost
just watched him, relearning how to breathe. The deep, unsettling
feeling of failure clung to the walls of his stomach. He winced at
the sound of metal rushing over the floor, and it was Luca, not
him, the new prospect, who got an appreciative slap on the back
from Priest.

“Good job, boy.
Where did you learn that?” he asked.

Luca gave a
weak smile. “It was what everyone did where I grew up,” he said,
finally turning his attention back to Ghost. He ignored all the
Coffin Nails, who left the hideout behind the fallen pool table,
and pulled on Ghost’s shoulders, trying to sit him up.

“I’m fine,”
Ghost muttered despite his body claiming otherwise. With his limbs
hot and heavy, he forced himself to get up, and not embarrass
himself further. At least he had the pool table to hold on to. When
Don’s gaze settled on Ghost, he was too embarrassed to even mouth
an apology to his father, who at this point was probably close to
hiding his head in shame that his son was such a pussy. Ghost
winced when the music disappeared, leaving him with a dull ringing
in his ears.

“You sure?”
Luca slid the gun into Ghost’s holster, his big eyes wide and
worried. “You were shaking.”

“I’m all
right,” Ghost mumbled, unwilling to look at anyone. He was
pathetic.

On top of the
mess in the devastated club, moans of someone injured got through
to him like a sharp knife. One of the Hogs was bleeding from his
arm, and Ghost’s feet led him toward the man on their own.

Tooth had all
the Rabid Hogs lying on the floor with their hands on their napes,
and Ghost didn’t even have to imagine what was going on in his
head. Tooth was brilliant at extracting information, so he knew
very well how to make men pay for what they did.

Don hissed,
looking Ghost’s way. “The bastard will be fine. Don’t touch him,
Prospect
.”

Ghost stopped
between the Nails and the Rabid Hogs, feeling completely useless.
He’d be able to help with the bleeding. That he knew how to deal
with. Everything else in his life was becoming a puzzle.

The wounded man
pressed his lips together and looked down, but Don wouldn’t give
up.

“Bet you’re
sorry now, you fucker, that you’ve insulted a goddamn doctor, huh?
And he’s not even a fag, you son of a bitch! I hope you fucking
bleed out,” he hissed and spat at the man.

Tooth glared at
him and tousled his long hair back. “Don, Jesus Christ...”

Priest looked
around. “Is everyone alive?”

The Nails
raised their hands with mutterings of confirmation. As if the
situation wasn’t bad enough, faint sounds of sirens reached Ghost’s
ears.

“Fuck,” Ghost
hissed, and looked at Tooth and Priest. “What now?”

Tooth dragged
his hand down his face. “Take Luca and get the fuck out of here.
Now
. Don’t let anyone spot you.”

“Ghost?”
uttered Luca at his side.

“Prospect, go!”
yelled Milk, as if it needed to be repeated.

Ghost pointed
to the back door, already heading there despite the heaviness in
his legs. Luca was right behind him, and at least his presence
slightly dulled the feeling of being such a disappointment to
everyone. They ran out into the backyard, and while Ghost went to
his white Harley, Luca rushed to open the gate. They could already
see the red and blue lights flashing far away. Ghost barely put on
his goggles, Luca jumped into the sidecar, and they were off.

The cool wind
against Ghost’s face soothed his mind, but his heart was still
thudding as they sped in the opposite direction from the
police.

Ghost’s head
pulsed like crazy when they passed the vehicles on the dark road as
if they were monsters in a dream, their huge, white eyes blinding
him and sending shivers down his spine. Unable to keep his hands as
steady as he should, he couldn’t maintain complete control over the
bike when the wheels met uneven asphalt. He was running from
bullets and the smell of blood. From death, mayhem, and
destruction.

He entered a
small road between two rows of trees, which looked like something
out of the
Twilight Zone
in the headlight of his bike, but
whatever could be hiding behind the trunks was much better than the
horror they left behind. It took a good quarter of an hour before
he noticed a little shabby-looking bus stop emerging from the
overwhelming darkness. He had no idea where else to go, and this
place could at least cover them if it began to rain, so he stopped
the bike and brought it partially under the roofing.

Neither of them
spoke, and once Ghost switched off the engine, they drowned in
darkness. There were noises coming from the intersection with a
larger road nearby, but the bus stop was peaceful, and Ghost could
bet it wasn’t even used much anymore. There was no way of telling
without the schedule on the board that now was just broken glass
and rude graffiti.

The cool air on
his skin and the scent of rotting wood were slowly easing Ghost’s
mind as he sat on his Harley and stared at the empty frame on the
side of the bus stop. It was at times like these that he wished he
smoked.

“I’m sorry,” he
muttered in the end.

“Are you okay?”
whispered Luca, who slowly left the sidecar. His bright clothes
were visible even in the darkness, especially with Ghost’s eyes
slowly adjusting to less illumination.

“We can’t go
home yet. I’ll wait for a call from Tooth, just in case.” He wasn’t
fine. He’d proved himself a coward, had panicked, and worst of
all―Luca had witnessed his humiliation.

Luca’s
footsteps were quiet and tentative, as if he wasn’t sure whether he
should approach, but his warm fingers eventually tickled the inside
of Ghost’s palm. Ghost held on to them and bit the inside of his
mouth so hard he drew blood.

He wasn’t
fine.

Luca leaned
closer and molded his body to Ghost’s side, hugging him with both
arms. His hair tickled Ghost’s neck when he lay his head on Ghost’s
shoulder. “Did you have a panic attack?” he whispered.

“I tried to
keep it cool.” Ghost returned the embrace. All his life he’d been
taught to be strong no matter what. That one day he’d meet a girl,
and he’d be the support she needed. But maybe with Luca it would be
different? Luca was a guy too after all, he was strong enough to
carry some of Ghost’s baggage.

Luca sighed
against the bare skin of Ghost’s neck, and pulled Ghost up so they
could hug. “I was scared.”

Ghost turned to
give Luca a chaste kiss. “My body just shut down,” he whispered. “I
couldn’t handle it.”

Luca nodded,
resting his forehead against Ghost’s. His warm, sweet breath
tickled Ghost’s lips each time he spoke, their closeness suggesting
an intimacy much deeper than anything Ghost had ever felt for
anyone. Very slowly, he was starting to relax.

“Maybe you
shouldn’t have to handle it then,” whispered Luca.

“I don’t want
to hurt anyone. That wasn’t what I signed up for.” Ghost inhaled
Luca’s scent, slightly sweaty and masculine, combined with the
freshness of his hoodie.

Luca pressed a
kiss to Ghost’s chin, then another, and another, until he reached
his lips and pushed their chests together. Ghost stumbled back, and
his shoulder blades hit the rusty wall.

This was
exactly what he needed. The stability and safety of Luca’s arms and
lips. He’d paid with his freedom for having Luca here, but he would
have given a million dollars more if that was what it took. Ghost
stroked Luca’s back as the kiss deepened, and their tongues met in
a conversation that needed no words. The longer it lasted, the more
intense and earthy Luca’s scent became. Ghost gave up and let Luca
lead the way, completely relaxed in his presence, even if the
nimble fingers still carried the smell of gunpowder. Luca had the
sweetest, meatiest mouth Ghost had ever tasted, and each move it
made, petting Ghost’s lips, sucking in his flesh, gently nipping,
was fuel to the fire in his chest.

Ghost didn’t
even mind being in the middle of nowhere after a shootout, as long
as he could be there with Luca. His chest expanded with a deep
inhale when he dared to slide his hands lower, all the way to
Luca’s ass in those tight jeans. Luca’s buttocks were just as firm
as Ghost imagined.

Luca got to his
toes against him, a sharp gasp leaving his lips. He slid his arms
around Ghost’s neck, deepening the kiss. He coaxed Ghost’s tongue
out, just enough to pull it with his teeth. It was gentle yet so
erotic Ghost’s cock started rapidly filling against Luca’s hips.
That ass was so round and tight he couldn’t help but imagine how it
would feel against his dick, bare and ready to take him in.

Just thinking
about it had Ghost taking deep, nasal breaths. He hadn’t really
given much thought to anal sex before, even felt ambivalent about
it. Especially with a guy, he was unsure how it would feel. But now
it all fell into place, and the concept of having Luca under him,
moaning his name as Ghost pushed in his cock became vivid and
scorching as the sun in July. He couldn’t help but squeeze Luca’s
ass harder since he wasn’t getting complaints.

He was elated
when Luca pushed back, flexing his buttocks in Ghost’s grip, only
to grind his crotch against the hard dick in Ghost’s jeans.

“Feels so
good,” uttered Luca breathlessly, his hips dancing between Ghost’s
hands and body.

This was
exactly what Ghost needed to forget the blood and guns. He kissed
Luca behind the ear, then on the neck. The skin was hot, slightly
salty, and perfectly lickable.

Luca leaned his
head to the side, a tiny moan escaping his mouth every time Ghost
brushed his lips over the exposed neck. He buried his fingers in
Ghost’s hair and gently slid his warm hand lower, pushing it under
Ghost’s shirt. The hot fingertips explored Ghost’s muscles in the
most divine way, and he gave in to it, kissing Luca’s neck and
kneading his ass. He couldn’t think of anyone he’d rather be with,
and he almost mewled when those slim digits pulled on the waistband
of his pants.

“Can I?”
whispered Luca.

Ghost gasped,
and only managed a nod, before burying his nose in that lovely
neck. Luca’s quick pulse throbbed against Ghost’s lips. If Ghost
were a vampire, this would be the moment he’d bite into his willing
victim.

Luca’s hands so
close to Ghost’s cock were the last straw. His dick was so hard it
hurt, and as soon as the zipper was lowered, it was such an immense
relief that Ghost celebrated it with another intense kiss, feasting
on the most amazing pair of lips he’d ever tasted. But they were
gone all too soon, trailing down his chest at a tantalizing pace.
Luca pulled on Ghost’s jeans, lowering them on his hips.

Ghost stopped
breathing. Their eyes locked when Luca got down to his knees.

“You’ll be
cold,” was all Ghost managed to come up with, his brain otherwise
completely empty.

Luca’s eyes
shone in the darkness, his wet lips sliding down Ghost’s uncovered
stomach, and once the jeans were halfway down his thighs, it was
Ghost who was a bit cold. “You’ll keep me warm,” whispered Luca,
seconds before he nudged Ghost’s cock with his chin.

This was stuff
wet dreams were made of. He couldn’t wait to feel Luca’s hot lips
sliding up and down his cock. The world around him became a blur of
meaningless events when Luca put his open mouth against Ghost’s
crotch and slowly lapped at the head, separated from it with just a
layer of thin fabric.

“Oh God,”
uttered Luca, pressing his mouth to the length of Ghost’s cock,
sniffing it even as he cupped Ghost’s balls with a gentle
squeeze.

“That’s what I
should be saying,” Ghost whispered, and his voice turned into steam
in the cool air. He wasn’t good at just receiving pleasure, so he
was at loss over what he could do for Luca. He settled on petting
the pretty, long hair, but that once again seemed like a pleasure
on its own.

Luca chuckled
and nuzzled the hard cock through Ghost’s underpants before slowly
peeling the fabric away and pulling it down. Ghost’s dick sprang
out, stiff and ready to play. “I’ve had dreams about your cock,”
whispered Luca

“What kind of
dreams?” Ghost licked his lips, hardly believing the beautiful guy
kneeling in front him was his, and wanted to do this for him after
witnessing Ghost’s uselessness.

Luca kissed the
moist tip, wetting his lips with the clear liquid it was already
secreting. “That you’d tell me I may suck it. It felt so real in
the dream, but this is even hotter. And you smell so fucking good,”
whispered Luca, gently squeezing Ghost’s balls and shaft as he
gathered the remaining precome off the cockhead.

A blissful
smile spread across Ghost’s lips as he leaned back against the wall
of the bus stop. His ego was picking up its pieces shattered at the
shootout. He hadn’t done this in years, and the memory was nothing
in comparison to the explosion of feelings caused by Luca’s lips.
All the other times had been great, very pleasant, hot, but this
was something else altogether. Just knowing that it was Luca’s
mouth slowly working down his shaft was enough to set his skin
ablaze, each nerve ending exploding with sensation.
