Writing Shame was different for me. I had a lot of anxiety going into it because I wanted Lisa’s story to stand apart from Wes and Gabe, but HOW do you do that? It’s almost impossible. Needless to say, I went through a lot of stress before I started the first chapter, but after typing that first section I knew her story needed to be told. I think this one hits home to so many women who have been in abusive relationships. I know this is an extreme, but when I look back on my relationships in high school/college and even relationships of my friends, it amazes me how many went through similar controlling situations where they were almost shut out from their friends and family because of the control the boyfriend had on their lives. Know that, if this is you, if this story speaks to you in that way, there is hope. Emotional bullying is just as wrong as Physical abuse.

Bullying is bullying, plain and simple. To those women, I hope this story gives you courage, to ones who have already walked that road, bless you for enduring and coming out on top, I hope this story helped you heal.
