He wasn’t happy until he was driving into her with a speed and a force that could be matched by no one. Her body taking each blow, her moans telling him she only wanted more.

“Don’t stop,” She moaned, wishing he could go faster, harder.

“Baby, I’m along for the ride.” He never stopped pushing into her, holding his pace steady.

Despite his best efforts he felt himself climbing, quickly closing on that climax that he wanted to hold off for as long as possible.

Grant bit his lip and dug in, he wanted this feeling to last. He hoped the pain would help him focus on the pleasure, and not let it overtake him. Each touch only brought him that much closer, and left him clinging to her, hoping it wouldn’t be over soon.

Grant was desperate. Desperate for her and the need she could fill inside of him. He was losing himself to his mate. She looked into his eyes as he drove into her, his intense stare never wavering, each kiss more vehement than the last. She was everything he wanted. Everything he needed. All he cared about was her. He knew that it was exactly what he wanted, what mating would do for them. Make both of them strong, make both of them want and crave each other. He had to convince her of that, convince her that his feelings were genuine. That he could love her.

He was going to cum soon, he knew it. There was little he could do to stop it. He was hitting her in just the right spot, her tight pussy rubbing against his hot cock.

“Oh, God, Grant. Yes. Yes.” She moaned, her teeth scraping against his lips as she cried out for him. Her hips ground against his as he felt a tremor make its way from the base of his spine up to his neck. It wouldn’t be long now.

Briana’s heart fluttered, he could hear the beating of it, then she paused. With a final scream into the night she came, her entire body shaking and trembling against his hard muscles as she gripped him. Just when he thought she was finished, he felt her pussy tighten around him again, her pleasure doubled.

He never stopped pumping into her, not once slowing down, working through her first orgasm, refusing to let her give way, bringing her to a second, and a third. It was then that he finally came, filling the condom he had put on. He collapsed on her, his heavy body providing a comforting weight on her chest. It was only for a moment, and then he was on the other side of her, pulling her tight to him.

“Mine.” It was all she needed to say. He knew exactly what she meant, and it filled him to the brim.

“I’m not going to be a slave to this, Grant. Why should I join this clan?”

“Pride. Or Motorcycle club, we are kind of both. You don’t have a choice, life as a shifter isn’t safe without your pride. Do you know the kind of danger you would be putting us in? We are part of the pride. You need to meet them, Briana.” Grant ran a hand through his hair, exhausted.  He knew it was his tell, that anyone who noticed it could see when he was frustrated, or upset, but he didn’t care. They had been up all night, making up for the hours that they spent apart after their mating.

“Besides, someone with your power isn’t safe alone, someone will claim you. Eventually. At the bar we can train you. Protect you.” His eyes were soft as he looked at her, and it sent anger flooding through her.

“We can help you Briana.” She didn’t want his charity. His pity.

She would show this pride that she was more than some charity case. That she could fight and contribute.

Briana’s eyes glowed. She was angry. Grant could feel it like a wave washing over him. “Fine. Take me to this… pride. I want to meet your… what was it? Alpha.”

They would have their powerful Mountain Lion. Their chance at victory. Everything would turn out the way they had planned.

She would meet the pride Alpha. Grant wasn’t sure he was going to like it when she did.

Briana took his hand and stepped through the back entrance to the bar, and into what seemed like another world.

“What is this place?” Briana looked around the “bar,” trying to comprehend how such a small space could magically be bigger the moment she walked into it. She entered what she thought was a small, roadside establishment, only to see something that looked like a mountain lodge, a wooden retreat that had to contain several hotels, all in one place.

“Well the front entrance takes you to the actual bar, where people come in and drink. They never know. This is different. It is our home. Home to the Demon Hunters, Shifter Legends Motorcycle club. Your home, now. We live here, we exist here.” Another man walked by, giving a nod. He was clad in leather, complete with the boots and the skull cap.

She tried not to stare.

“But… what about your apartment? And the what? Demon Hunters... What?”

“Kind of along name, I know. We go by Demon Hunters, or Shifter Legends. It all depends. As for the apartment, I live there too, part of the time. It serves as a home base of sorts, a way to get away from the guys, a way to make it in the real world. We use our…
talents
to make a living. And we use our homes to recruit others.”

“People like me,” She reasoned aloud.

“Cougars like us,” He corrected.

Briana shook off the haze that kept her from questioning. It was like she was surrounded in a fog of complacency.

“What is this feeling? Why can’t I concentrate?” She stumbled a little, reaching out for Grant.

He grabbed her, steadied her, his touch bringing her back to herself. The past twenty four hours had been wild. They had mated, she had turned, experienced her need for him, and now she was here. In this magical rustic community. With a man she hardly knew. And it nagged at her.

“It is for non-magical visitors. You are still… transitioning. It will go away soon.” Grant’s arm around her was like an anchor keeping her grounded. “If they intrude, they don’t remember what the hell they saw. It becomes a nasty shithole in their mind, like most bikers’ dens”.

“As for this? Let’s just say, a fairy owed the pride a few dozen favors. This is how one alpha collected.” Shane gestured to the inside.

“Wait, fairies are real?” Briana looked at him gape-mouthed.

She could tell that he was trying not to laugh at her, and it got her ire up.

“Everything in all the stories are real, Briana. Everything. We just…navigate around each other.” Grant led her down a corridor.

The walls of the lodge were carved out into some of the most beautiful woodwork Briana had ever seen. Elaborate designs were carved into the walls: mountain lions, wolves, bears, spirits, fairies, all surrounded by Celtic markings and designs. It was beautiful. She could stare at it for hours and not see everything in it.

“Look, when you get there, there will be a lot of people, and they won’t all be… the friendliest.” Grant’s voice softened as he looked down at her. She could tell from the look in his eyes that he was being protective.

Briana could feel her hackles going up. She didn’t need anyone’s protection.

“I thought I was important?” She asked, a little insulted. Had he tricked her?

They came to a door that was more ornate than any she had seen before. It was special. She knew this was the room designated for the counsel. She took a deep breath.

“You are, but like any gang there are… tensions. And I am the second. A lot of people jump at any chance to improve their status in the pride.” Grant shrugged and kissed her. “Even if that means undermining the club’s Vice President.” They had gone a grand total of an hour without one kiss. It was a new record.

“Politics are politics everywhere.” She sighed and followed him into the room.

“Everything will be fine, just stand your ground. You are a strong Alpha female,” He whispered into her ear, the husky quality of his voice completely distracting her as he separated from her, leaving her in front of the table while he took his place in the center.
Asshole.

Right next to a man who had the same stature as her shifter. Damn Grant was fine.

He must have been the Alpha, since Grant said that he was the second. Briana squared her shoulders and looked at him, an inflated sense of strength filling her as she felt the stress of the situation come down on her. Nothing like pressure to make her perform.

There were a lot of people there, maybe 10. She could feel the heat of her new body rushing up around her.

The muscular blonde at the center of the table looked her up and down, a few times over, his intense copper eyes giving her pause. She could see why he was the Alpha. He was completely imposing.

“Welcome. I am Book and this is my council. So, you are supposed to be powerful, a super shifter. That’s what we hear. Is there any proof?” His chiseled jaw hardened as his eyes met hers. She could feel them, whispering to her, a voice in her head, saying
Submit.

Despite the words being whispered into her mind she did not lower her eyes, or show any signs of submission, the pull barely there. The curvy BBW accomplished something she shouldn’t have been able to. Unless she was incredibly strong. She could feel it. Feel the strength pulsing through her veins.

“I would have no idea about that, especially considering I have never met another shifter before Grant. I’m not exactly up to snuff on cougars and their ‘powers’.” Briana ground out the words one at a time, her tone clearly condescending.

A stiff-looking redhead stood up from her position on the left of the Alpha and glowered at Briana, her eyes glowing as she snapped. “Grant, you should have informed your…
mate
about how to speak to the Alpha. Colette would have known.”

Clearly there was a jilted shifter who was expecting to be mated to Grant. She could tell from the look in his eyes that he was not going to tolerate her disobedience.

“I wasn’t interested in having your sister as my old lady, Olivia. I’ve seen what you’ve done to our President, the way you have lied and manipulated. Your schemes wouldn’t have worked on me. You wormed your way into the court, isn’t that enough?” Grant growled, literally growled, at her. Olivia jumped onto the table and reached across the Alpha, grabbing a hold of Grant.

She didn’t realize what she was doing but before she knew it she was standing. That was when she lost it.

“STOP IT!” Briana screamed, the entire room coming to a halt and looking at her. “If you so much as touch my mate, I will make you wish you hadn’t.” She was panting and growling, the glow of her eyes reflecting against her own cheeks.

Grant visibly collected himself, his tone changing. “Olivia, you will find that my mate is an Alpha in her own right. I simply told her to be herself. Anything else would be unfair to the entire council.” Grant snuck in a sardonic smile that wasn’t missed.

Grant was sneaky, and he was strong. Briana could tell that from this exchange. He didn’t know it yet, but he laid all his hands on the table by acting this way. He was brash, and reactive, but he was also powerful. That wasn’t a safe combination. Every abuser she had ever encountered carried those signature traits.

Olivia’s eyes tore away from Grant as she turned to the Alpha for help.

Book held up a hand to Grant. “Your point has been made, Grant. I am sure Olivia is sorry for her… transgression. She has learned her lesson.” Book shot a glare at Olivia, a silent communication that she was not winning this fight. She could tell by the way he glared at her that there was no love between them. Even if she was his mate.

Book shifted his demeanor in an instant, his tough biker exterior taking on a new authority as he regarded Briana. He stood and walked towards her, his gaze never wavering.

“You were right. This new shifter is powerful. But she might be more powerful than even you can handle, Grant.” The Alpha’s tone was dangerous.

What did he mean, he can’t handle me? Briana felt worried, the way Book looked at her. It was almost like she was a threat.

Book shifted away from her suddenly, “I have seen all I need to see. Thank you for introducing me to your mate. I am sure she will find an appropriate place in the club. She can stay in your room while she is here. I grant you access to the Club, Briana. Time will tell if you will be fully initiated”

Just like that he was done with her, and with a flick of Book’s hand Grant led her out the door.
