By the time Halloween came around, Alexandria’s loneliness was killing her. She made a lot of money and realized it didn’t keep her happy. It didn’t keep her warm at night and didn’t laugh at her corny jokes like Curtis did.

Alexandria was late to work that night since she had to get her son ready. She dressed him in his costume and painted his face before his father picked him up. Timmy Jr. went with his father, so she was all alone. That night at the club, the dancers dressed in Halloween costumes, so she decided on the slutty princess outfit.

It was about nine when she walked toward the club with her duffle bag. When she approached the door, a well-dressed, sexy man approached her smelling like a million bucks and looked even better.

“Wow, do you work here?” he asked.

“Yes, I’ll give you a lap dance once I get dressed.”

“No, that’s not why I was asked.” His dick was hard.

“Oh,” she said with confusion on her face.

“You are stunning. Gorgeous, if you don’t mind me saying.”

“I don’t mind.” She blushed.

“I don’t understand why a lady like yourself works here. I’m sure you make a lot of money, but if you were my lady you wouldn’t want for anything.”

“I already don’t want for anything.”

Alexandria tried to push past him because the conversation seemed weird. She didn’t know if he was a stalker or a nut case. She felt safe if he was, because the bouncer was near.

“I’m serious. I’m sorry, my name is Sam. Why don’t you let me take you out?”

“That is crazy. I’m a stripper. I’m sure the men you were with that walked in the door before you have already seen me half naked. Why do you want to date me?”

“I just do. Maybe I see something in you besides you getting naked. Let me determine if I want to deal with you and your situation.”

“Look, Sam. I’m already late for work.”

As she walked past him, he pushed his business card into her hand and when he wasn’t in view, she looked at the card and blushed a little. She felt weird and didn’t know where he was coming from or if he could be trusted, but she sure enjoyed the things he said. She brushed the smile off of her face and chalked it up as just game he was running.

As soon as Alexandria walked past George’s office, he stood up from his desk and called her name. “Lexxxie, bring your ass in her, girl.”

Alexandria took a deep breath because she knew he would have a mouthful since it was her third time late that month. “Yes, George.” She walked into his office.

“You know the drill. Your ass is late, so that’s a hundred dollar fine.”

“I got you.”

“Really? It seems you got something going on. Are you not feeling making this money anymore? Let me know now, ‘cause I got bitches lined up that want to dance.”

“I love my job, George. I just had a few things to handle. It’s handled now, so I won’t be late any time soon.”

“Good, but I gave Diamond your stage time since you can’t get your ass to work on time.”

“George, you know the stage is where the most money is made. Why are you trying to play me?”

“It wouldn’t be like this if you were here.”

Alexandria rushed out of his office so fast that the papers on George’s desk fell to the floor.
I can’t believe this nigga gave my spot to some rookie ass bitch
, Alexandria thought. It was bad enough that if a bitch thought you were sleeping on lap dances or dancing on the stage they would steal your spot and get your money. Alexandria couldn’t wait until her business picked up a little more so she could stop working at Tasty Ladies. Her side job was enough money to be her main, but she spent money so fast, it was hard to save and let it stack. Every time she thought she had a nice stack saved up, she would go on a shopping spree, take Timmy Jr. on last minute trips, and every time she got lonely, which was often, she shopped.

When Alexandria went into the dressing room, Mystical was on the pole while a lot of money was thrown at her. Diamond was ready to go on and she was a new bitch, so she had to get drunk before she got on the stage.

Diamond was on her way out of the dressing room and stumbled a little because she was drunk. She giggled because she almost bumped into Alexandria.

“I’m sorry.”

“It’s all good.”

“Lexxxie, I didn’t want your stage time. I hope you know I had nothing to do with this shit.”

“I know. George be on that bullshit.”

“How about I dance for the first twenty minutes and you can come out for the remaining ten?”

“You don’t have to do that shit. I know you got a mouth to feed just like I do. But, thank you.”

“I know we both do, but it’s some shady bitches in here, so let’s have each other’s back.”

“Are you sure? I ain’t really the type of bitch you want to be cool with. I got a lot of fucked up shit going for me.” Alexandria smirked.

“Me too. People always think since I’m so pretty and got a thick body, I don’t have shit going on. I’m as fucked up as you or even more.”

“Bitch, you seem like you a goodie goodie.”

“As do you.”

“Far from that shit!”

“Me too. So, are you gon’ dance because I definitely don’t mind doing the whole thirty by myself?”

“Yes, and thank you so much.”

“No doubt.”

Diamond rushed off to wait for Mystical to get off the stage and after Alexandria got dressed, she watched Diamond dance from the back of the stage. She was very impressed with her skills.

Once Diamond got off of the stage, George looked like what the fuck was going on. Then, Alexandria approached wearing her slutty princess outfit and blew the crowd’s mind.

Sam was front and center, so she danced extra sexy for him and made sure to give him a lot of attention. Sam dropped nothing but hundred dollar bills on her and she was impressed. She made a mental note to look for him later and give him a lap dance. Even though he was sexy and definitely Alexandria’s type, she had to keep an eye on him. He seemed to have a lot of money to spend that night, so she would be sure to take all of it.

Chapter Twenty-Five

Kenny had a charity game, so Sofia invited Alexandria and Liz to join her. Kenny wanted Sofia and her friends to be away from everybody and still enjoy the game. So, the ladies enjoyed the game from an owners’ sky box. The owner only peeked in once to be sure they had enough food and drinks. After that, he went to another owner’s box.

The ladies laughed and had a good time as they cheered on Kenny. The score was tied and everybody thought they would go into overtime until Kenny scored a three point with fifty seconds on the clock. The other team got the ball and made it down the count to the basket, but when he shot the ball, he missed.

After the game, Kenny had to attend a press conference about the game since all of the ticket sales for the game went to charity, so the ladies went out to dinner without him. Alexandria and Sofia were teasing Liz because she was so big compared to the last time they saw her. She was all belly and her ass was a lot bigger. She ate a lot at the game and at the restaurant.

Alexandria told her friends about Sam and how she often thought about him. She admitted that it could have been because she was single and wanted a man in her life, but on the other hand, her track record wasn’t good with men. She wondered if she should just trash his number.

Sofia spoke first. “I do get worried about you being alone. You’re going to these parties by yourself. I wish you had a bodyguard or something. And, to be honest, I wonder what you are going to do with your life. You can’t strip forever.”

“I know, but the money is so good.”

“Bitch, what you need to do is save your money so that you can start your own business where you don’t have to get naked. I know it’s good having money, but you spend so much of it, it seems like you’ll never have the money you need to quit.”

“I never thought about quitting anytime soon, and you are right, Liz. I have been blowing through my money. I feel like I have to spend just as much as Curtis spent on me to be happy. I know it’s dumb.”

“I was the same way,” Liz admitted. “But now, Lloyd has been saving money just to see how life would be without hustling. He stacked a lot of dirty money and purchased a few foreclosed homes, fixed them up, and then sold them for way cheaper than their worth, but more than what he put into it. It really is good money doing it, so he no longer runs the streets.”

“Wow, I’m impressed,” Sofia said.

“Yeah, me too. That’s why you don’t see my ass in all name brand shit. I’m no stranger to making inexpensive shit look hot.”

“I wish I could say the same. Maybe I do need a man that could take me back down to reality. I just love feeling like I can buy what I want like those famous mafuckas.” Alexandrian admitted.

“That’s how I felt when Kenny would buy me whatever I wanted, but we both came from families that knew struggle, so we appreciate the money, but we know to put something aside. So, give Sam a try and if he seems like he could be the one, then cool. But, you are still young, you will meet the one.”

“I know. I just get so scared. I can’t imagine loving another man and he leaves me or dies like Curtis.” Alexandria had tears in her eyes.

Sofia pulled her into a hug. “Trust me that will not happen. You may deal with a man that will break your heart, but you can’t let that stop you from finding love.”

“That is so true. Fuck that shit! You can’t let a nigga control you. If he breaks your heart, break something of his and keep it moving.” Liz stated.

The ladies all laughed at Liz’s crazy way of thinking, but there was always some truth in what she said.

It was three weeks after Sam gave Alexandria his number. She stared at the card and played with the idea of calling.
Dial the fucking number
, she thought to herself. Moments later, her fingers danced across her cell phone as she dialed his number.

“Sam Tate speaking,” he answered.

“Um, hi. This is Alexandria from the club.” She wondered if he would remember her being that she waited so long to call him and she never gave him her real name.

“Oh, wow. I thought you threw my card in the trash, but I’m glad that you didn’t.”

“No, I didn’t. I would have called earlier, but I don’t meet men where I work so I wasn’t sure what to do.”

“I’ll prove to you that you made the right choice.”

“Really?”

“Yes.” Sam had a sexy smile on his face.

They talked and she wondered what she could possibly bring to the table because Sam was a Project Manager making six figures, and he was a government contractor making just as much. He kept his fulltime work and his contracting job because his contracts were never steady. Some would be as short as a month and some as long as six months. But, when he worked both jobs, he saved most of what he brought in from his contract jobs.

Alexandria had a GED, and her only work experience was in fast food and stripping. She previously had a problem taking money that didn’t belong to her, so she knew Sam would wonder if he should even waste his time with her.

Sam was in his mid-thirties. He spent most of his time studying in college, working a nine to five, and building his business. He had many of women that came into his life that didn’t stay long because they felt he didn’t give them enough attention. He was tired of being alone and knew his work could no longer satisfy him. All of his friends had wives and children. He hated being single, so he dated a lot of women with hopes of meeting his match. But, most women his age were already married and unhappy, divorced and carried way too much baggage, or just wanted a man to fuck her and go home.

Sam knew that Alexandria was young and wasn’t given the chance to better herself. He wanted to do that for her.

“So, is the offer for a date still on the table?”

“Of course! How about tonight?”

“What time is good for you?” Alexandria knew she had to get a manicure and pedicure before their date. And, maybe she could get a hair appointment since her dark brown roots were growing out.

“It’s two now, so how about seven tonight?”

“Yes, I can do seven.”

That night, they went to a fancy seafood restaurant in Glen Burnie. They ate, drank, and enjoyed each other’s conversation. Alexandria was happy that she called Sam. She had no idea where that date would lead them, but she was eager to see where it would go.

When Sam invited Alexandria back to his condo, she figured he would be on some getting pussy shit and almost didn’t go until he told her that fucking wasn’t on his mind. It was on his mind and his dick was hard most of the time they were together, but he wanted to show her that he wanted more than just sex. He really wanted to know her.

Sam’s condo overlooked the city and had a beautiful view of Baltimore’s harbor. It was chilly outside, so Sam grabbed a blanket from his closet and they walked up a flight of stairs to the terrace.
