It was also erotic, the air pregnant with sensuality, and serenity enough to engage carnal stirrings and the mind’s active imagination. Jocelyn and Alexandra were missing their husbands much sooner than they anticipated, an acute condition they both noticed early on the first day.

“You know I used to look at men and wonder about their dicks,” Jocelyn whispered to her friend, as the two were lounging by the pool, having just watched a pair firm young male buns stroll by.

“Not anymore?” Alex asked.

“I think I might before this trip’s over.”

“Oh. Are you planning to stray a bit.”

“No,” Jocelyn replied firmly. “I don’t think I could. I’m so in love with Reg, it’s hard to imagine being with another man, even in my fantasies. You do feel that way about Will, don’t you?”

“Most of the time,” Alex replied.

“And you’ve never strayed?”

Alex laughed. “Strayed is not exactly the word, but you can’t call my escapades with Reggie an example of faithfulness no matter how you try to explain it.”

“But in a way it was faithfulness,” Jocelyn objected. “You were trying to work out your relationship, and this was a mutually agreed on accommodation. Will knew everything that was going on, didn’t he?”

“Most of it, I guess. Maybe even more than I know. But he didn’t really know my state of mind, the times I thought I was falling in love with Reg.”

“Don’t you suppose Will figured you’d fall in love with him?” Jocelyn said exasperated.

“Maybe.”

“The Will I know is very shrewd,” Jocelyn observed. “Too volatile for my tastes, but I bet he knew everything, I’m sure of it. He thought of Reggie as ‘the cure’ for what ailed you then, and he knew you’d be coming home to him.”

“You know, you’re a hopeless romantic,” Alex laughed.

“I am, aren’t I? I don’t think I could be in love with Reggie otherwise. I have to have the enigma, the tease and the seduction. No different from you. And Reggie’s very good at all that.”

“Except that I must like emotional fireworks since I create so many with Will.”

“That’s just because you like your bottom mauled,” Jocelyn snickered.

Alex refused to answer that retort. “So you’re going to refrain from admiring young bottoms?”

“There’s no harm admiring. And there are some very fine ones swimming in the pool right now.”

“Oh, I think I could content myself staring at women,” Alex said with a sigh, then she leaned back, closed her eyes, and looked as if she was about to have an excursion into dreamland.

Alex’s last remark startled the redhead. She was sure that the mention of women wasn’t intended to provoke a response. Regardless, it was having a considerable effect on her body. The way Alex’s blonde hair was scattered about the lounge chair, the way her lovely limbs reclined comfortably against the cotton towel, the way her breasts protruded from the swimming suit, the essence of her was producing the oddest effect on Jocelyn, especially after the open-ended comment. Perhaps it was an invitation? She thought of Alex’s bisexuality as a novelty in her past. Perhaps not. In a place outside their normal lives all sorts of possibilities might become available. The idea was intriguing, and Jocelyn found that gazing at her sensuous friend was a surprisingly pleasant diversion.

On the second evening of their stay, the two walked the streets of the charming resort town looking for a small bistro for dinner. They were already more relaxed than they’d been in weeks. Just being transplanted into this easy moving atmosphere seemed to settling.

The small cafe where they stopped for dinner served spicy Mexican fare.

“It’s sexy don’t you think?” Jocelyn said as she gazed around the lovely restaurant and it Spanish style decor. “I’ll bet even the food is erotic around here.”

“It’s not all that different than anywhere else,” Alex replied.

“But the ambiance,” Jocelyn went on.

“I agree with that, except that I think eating rellenos and chili will only make me horny.”

“Then you’ll get out the vibrator,” Jocelyn whispered, as she took Alex’s arm and drew her into the restaurant.

“God, this is good,” Jocelyn declared, about an hour later, as she felt the steamy Mexican spices making her mouth pleasantly burn.

Getting horny?” Alex asked. They were half-way through the meal.

“Yeah, kinda, and you?”

“I’m always horny.”

Jocelyn watched as Alex observed the diners around them, which was a study in itself. Her wandering eyes focused on bodies, seeming to capture them in her gaze and with imaginary talons draw them to her as if she were inspecting their souls. She was the kind of woman who observed a great deal, though it was difficult to know exactly what she thought about what she saw. Jocelyn suspected her thoughts were mostly erotic. And now, after Alex’s comment by the pool the day before, Jocelyn noted that most of her friend’s studied observations were aimed at women rather than men.

“You ever think about sex with a woman?” she asked the blonde, drawing her back to reality.

Alex looked back, her blue eyes suddenly fixed on Jocelyn’s green ones. “Do you?” she answered with a question, a mystifying smirk on her face.

Jocelyn was startled, not expecting the question to come back to her. “I don’t know. And you?”

Alex nodded. “Yes. I think about women a lot.”

“You’re bisexual?”

“Just sexual really. It doesn’t matter as long as it moves and turns me on.”

Jocelyn laughed, even though she knew her friend was completely serious.

“You’ve slept with women?”

“Slept? No. Made love to, yes,” Alex replied, as her sultry eyes combed Jocelyn’s startling beauty enough to make the redhead a bit nervous.

“Splitting hairs, aren’t we? ‘Sleeping’, ‘making love’, they really mean the same thing,” Jocelyn said. This conversation was touchy ground for her, though she didn’t understanding yet why, and why Alex was being so vague. Usually she was completely open about the intimate details of her sexual escapades, even those with Reggie. It was one of the things that made Jocelyn almost instantly close to her. She basked in the freedom she felt with her friend, where there were no judgments or boundaries to Alexandra’s sexual openness. She’d never had a friend with whom she could be so frank. Having shared some rather daunting secrets about all kinds of unique sexual theatre they had in common, her friendship with Alex was precious to her. For Alex to be so guarded now about her bisexuality put Jocelyn on edge.

Alex suddenly changed her expression, giving Jocelyn a warm smile. “I’m sorry, I’m being obtuse, aren’t I? It’s just been a long time since I’ve shared a bed with a woman, and the idea is kind of stuck in my brain right now.” Alex was thinking of Jane her first female lover, of Heidi and Ann, the women from the ‘South of France,’ and the others she’d met at Reggie’s estate. Unlike the distinct impact men always made on her, these women seemed to drift into her life and out again, leaving gifts that turned into fond memories she often returned to when she was in the right mood. How right the mood was now.

“I love being with women,” she said. “I love to look into the softness of their eyes, feel their skin, and their small lips when they’re pressed to mine. We move so differently than men when we’re sexually passionate, with rhythms that come from a source that’s almost indefinable. It’s a quality of eroticism that makes me think of meandering brooks and sultry warm days, and nights where the air is filled with stars and a crescent moon. Things subtle. Women are much more subtle than men.”

Alex’s gaze was unnerving, Jocelyn thought. But it was also appealing. Reggie’s gaze often unnerved her, too, but not like this. Alex’s pink blushed lips were slightly parted, her eyes were sex-filled and droopy—classic bedroom eyes that beckoned her without her really knowing it. Even as Alex drank her Coke through a straw, the picture was erotic, as if her lips were descending on some part of the human anatomy for a kiss or more…

Jocelyn moved against the chair beneath her as she might move against a lover’s thigh. She’d worn no underwear under the long flowing skirt, and was aware of her arousal as her pussy pressed against the seat. What she was feeling was not the same sharp surge of desire that she experienced with men, but something very refined, almost elusive, as if there was an ethereal sprite teasing her body with new sexual longing.

“I’d never push,” Alex said, in a voice that sounded as if it had dropped an octave, the mellow tone seducing her, as much as the eyes and lips and alluring body were seducing her.

“Never push what?” Jocelyn asked.

“I want to make love to you,” she said.

Jocelyn smiled. “I almost expected you to say that.”

“Well, now that I have,” Alex went on, “it’s not a proposition, just a desire. I have no expectations.”

“I’m glad you told me. But I don’t know how to respond.” There was a nervous flutter in her tummy along with the rest of the beguiling commotion. “You know, I think this margarita is making me dizzy,” she said. “You about ready to go?”

“Sure.”

***

A clear cool night with a thousand shining stars greeted them as moved out onto the street. Jocelyn resisted the urge to hold Alex’s hand as they strolled back to the spa. A breeze was gusting through their hair, through Alex’s blonde curls, and Jocelyn’s red ones, the wind erotically tickling their skin. Distant strains of music, the sounds of laughter and giggling, the smell of wine, even if it was only in their imaginations, made it a moment too ripe with possibilities to ignore. Though they both felt the attraction, Jocelyn was hesitant.

“I’m not ready for this,” she finally said, as she and Alex stood in the hallway outside their rooms.

“Maybe I shouldn’t have spoken,” Alex returned.

“But then that wouldn’t be very honest.”

“Nothing ever has to happen,” Alex told her. “As far as I’m concerned right now, we have the same relationship we’ve always had. She ran her hand along the redhead’s soft cheek and smiled. “Have a good night.”

Alex undressed and bathed in a warm bath. Drying the dampness away with a thick terrycloth towel, she then moved to the patio door and walked out naked onto the balcony. The chill in the air created a rash of goosebumps across her flesh. How different this was from that savage night on her balcony at home. The evening was as tranquil as a summer breeze wafting across a still lake. She shivered, as her hands moved over silky skin, through the tuft of hair at her pubic mound and the warm wet place between her labia. She knelt on the lounge, on hands and knees, as if she was submitting to one of the dominant geniuses in her life, awaiting their hands combing her flesh or slapping her bottom or penetrating the offered orifices. Moving against her own hand now the stimulation steadily mounted. How she wished for lips at the doorway to her cunt, and probing things, and fingers and tongues. Swept into the remembrance of times past, she almost lost herself so much, that once again, she didn’t immediately notice when a pair of real hands were caressing her behind.

A quick look back and she saw a glint of red in the starlight. Jocelyn was sitting behind her on the lounge.

“You make it hard to ignore my lust for you,” Jocelyn whispered. Her warms hands moved about Alex’s bottom, her touch ever so gentle, but still tentative. As if some electric charge was flowing from her novice hands, the sensation augmented Alex’s driving need. She needn’t be an expert at the task. Jocelyn’s hand moved even deeper between Alex’s legs, where she fingered the sensitive flesh, and found her dearest friend responding just as she might if her own fingers or Will’s were probing her there. Alex rocked back against the invading hands, which became more bold the more they played with her. So like Jocelyn not to waver even from the outset. It was either that, Alex thought, or her friend was lying about having had a woman before. Then too, Alex knew Jocelyn’s lust well, the redhead would be a mistress of her own self pleasure, knowing exactly what brings a woman to orgasm.

Alex parted her legs, begging Jocelyn for more. And with the ‘come-on’ obvious, her lover became bolder still. Jocelyn’s fingers probed deeply and were soon moving rhythmically in and out of the warm wet pussy, until Alex gasped aloud and groaned with pleasure, her female juices flooding over her lover’s hand.

Jocelyn was still dressed in her robe and admiring the sight of Alex’s naked backside, now glowing white in the pale moonlight. Sensing the eyes focused on her back, she turned around and let the white sheet fall away. Jocelyn could see her creamy breasts, the pussy and everything in-between. No further invitation was necessary, their longing arms brought them together as naturally as if they’d made love every day. Their naked bodies moved in tandem, breast to breast and cunt to cunt and lips to lips. Settled in side by side on the lounge, they continued to kiss as their hands played at will and the intimacy grew.

Unexpectedly, with just the most basic stimulation, Jocelyn suddenly exploded into orgasm. Dormant, built-up, pent-up sexual energy broke free and her climax swept through her body with a boisterous blast. She was almost savage the way she bucked against her new found lover’s slim form. With Alex’s fingers moving stealthily between her thighs and reaching to the wet warmth of her pussy, a gentle ‘ahhhhmmmmmm’ … escaped her parted lips while the final shudder lingered on.
