She was tilted in his lap allowing him to slip deep inside of her until finally he was completely sheathed within her. He paused for a moment. She felt so full she was sure she could feel him throughout her entire body. Leaning forward, he grasped her hands in his again, as he began a slow sensuous slide within her. Each delicious stroke was like gas on a fire, fueling her desire.

His thumb found her clit and rubbed in maddening circles as he pounded in and out of her body. Harder and harder until she was shaking and clenching so hard she thought her body would surely just split into pieces. Her body clenched half in ecstasy and half in torture. She looked up in glittering green eyes focused on her.

“Isaac” she gasped before her body bowed upwards in orgasm. The shuddering deep inside of her belly forced him to slow his movements. His teeth clenched as he continued to push inside of her.

Amazingly her body tensed on the edge of orgasmic release once again. She cried out again as his arm wrapped around her waist holding her body captive under his body as he pushed for his own release. “Angie” he grated out as his body stilled over hers.

He stroked his finger down her cheek before climbing from the bed.

The bed felt suddenly cold when he rose from the bed. Doubts immediately assailed her and for a moment she regretted her hasty decision. She refused to beg him to stay. No matter how much her heart already ached from his short absence.

Her worries were apparently for naught because moments later, he climbed back into the bed next to her and curled his body next to hers.

Chapter 2

Sunlight filtered through the openings of the lacy blue curtain, creating an intricate mosaic on their entwined legs. Angela stretched and felt the heavy weight of Isaac’s arm across her waist, pinning her body to the bed. For a few moments, she just laid there. Enjoying the feel of his body pressed to hers. She glanced at the clock beside the bed and realized it was only 6:30am. Surprising since she felt well rested and full of energy. With a smile she turned in his arms. Isaac lay next to her, his face serene, with a slight smile upon his handsome features. Tentative fingers reached out and gently pushed back the lock of dark hair that lay over his forehead.

She didn’t even want to try and count the number of years she spent half in love with the man laying in the bed right beside her. Notebooks with Angela Whitman scribbled in the margins, never where Marcella could see, of course. Older now, she realized the trouble it would’ve caused if they’d ever tried to see each other. But that obstacle no longer existed. Maybe something good could happen between them.

With a sigh she lifted the heavy arm trapping her to the bed. What was she thinking? What was she doing? Hadn’t she promised herself that this was just a one night thing? Wasn’t it just hours ago she promised not to torture herself this way?

With a grimace she forced her aching body to stand and she walked to the bathroom across the hall. Once inside she closed the door and ran the water as cold as it would go, before wetting a towel and holding it between her sore thighs. Isaac had woken her twice more during the night and her body wasn’t prepared for a lover as well endowed as Isaac, or with his stamina. She couldn’t even begin to guess how many times he brought her body to orgasm over the course of the night.

She wet the towel twice more before the ache between her thighs felt better. Tossing the towel into the dirty clothes hamper she washed her face and brushed her teeth. Peeking into the bedroom Isaac was still sleeping, so she grabbed a change of clothes from her closet and stepped into the shower. Once she was finished, she dressed in the living room, and pulled her hair into a messy bun at the nape of her neck. As an afterthought, she decided to add a headband to make her hair appear at least slightly presentable since she didn’t have the patience to brush the tangles from her hair. Clearly, a night of wild sex wasn’t doing her curly hair any favors.

In the kitchen and started a pot of coffee before peeking into the refrigerator for something to make for breakfast. When she came up empty she quickly opened the cabinets to continue her search for food. Five minutes later she’d managed to find a bag in the back of the freezer containing about 8 tater tots as well as two eggs, a can of Quaker oatmeal and two toast pastries.

If she was being graded on domestic skills she’d have a C minus. Probably less if she was being honest. She didn’t even have a frozen can of orange juice. Her favorite brand of sugary Orange flavored drink mix could be found in the drawer however.

Angela peeked in the bedroom once more. Isaac apparently still enjoyed sleeping in on the weekend. She’d been awake and moving around the house for about 30minutes and he hadn’t moved once, so far as she could tell.

Angela slipped her feet into the sandals sitting by the door before reaching into the closet and grabbing a reusable grocery bag. Angela preferred not to drive since there were so many options for public transportation and since the grocery store was only two blocks from her front door it wasn’t really a hassle for her to walk where ever she needed to go.

Since Isaac didn’t appear to be waking anytime soon she figured she had time to run to the store, grab some food, return and cook before he even noticed she was gone. She might not be planning on a real relationship with the guy, but it was polite to at least feed him before kicking him out, right?

Angela shopped quickly and before long she was headed for the checkout. As she approached the checkout station she noticed Marcella there in line wearing workout clothes and bouncing with her headphones on as she waited to pay for her container of Greek yogurt and water.

As Angela laid her items on the belt, Marcella turned and noticed her. “Hey! You’re up early Marcie.”

Marcella shrugged her shoulders. “Figured I’d hit the gym before I dropped by your house.”

“My house,” repeat Angela. “What’s at my house?”

Marcella frowned at her. “We were supposed to walk the mall this morning. That way we could get some exercise and be there for the 75% off sale at the shoe store in the mall.”

“I’m so sorry! I can’t believe I spaced out and forgot!”

“No problem. I can go and grab the car and meet you out front.” Marcella replied as the cashier handed her the receipt along with her bag.

Angela scrambled to think of a lie that would stop Marcella from taking her home and seeing her brothers’ car sitting in her driveway. “Oh, it’s okay. I need the exercise anyway. We could just meet at the mall later!”

“Nonsense, I’m already here and I don’t mind driving.” With that Marcella headed out the door.

Angela cursed under the breath when Marcella left the grocery store. The cashier looked at her strangely but Angela just shook her head absent mindedly.

Twenty-four years old and she still hadn’t figured out how to lie convincingly without practicing it in the mirror for fifteen minutes before saying it out loud. She finished paying for the groceries and grabbed the tote.

Angela nervously bit her lip when she climbed in the car, dreading the moment Marcella noticed Isaac’s car parked outside. It would be obvious that he’d slept at her house and since she didn’t have a guest room it would be pretty obvious why.

When the car reached the corner, she peered down the street to her house, but there was no car.

Disappoint mingled with relief when she realized that Isaac’s car was gone. Frowning she tried the door and found it locked. Surprised, she pulled out her keychain and unlocked the door. Stepping inside she slipped off her shoes and put her purse in the closet. Her fingers automatically hung her keys in the closet and noted that the spare set that normally hung in the corner was missing.

Marcella came in the house behind her chattering about shoes she couldn’t wait to buy but Angela wasn’t truly listening. She made a noncommittal noise when Marcella paused and that must have been enough because she started right back up.

No missed calls or text messages. Inside the house, the only sign that the night had even happened was the lingering smell of his cologne in the air. Angela set the bag inside the refrigerator without even bothering to unpack it. Then she opened every window in the living room before slipping her shoes back on and taking the purse back out of her purse.

At this moment, she didn’t even want to stay inside of her apartment long enough to change clothes. She didn’t want to put away the groceries. She didn’t want to smell the scent of his cologne on her throw pillows. The more she tried not to smell it, the worse the smell got. She couldn’t understand how Marcie didn’t smell it!

The breeze coming through the window should help. The fresh air would come in and when she returned later, the smell would be gone and perhaps even the memories from last night would have begun to fade as well. Maybe she would buy a can of air freshener once they reached the mall. She'd find something feminine and girly, like sweet pea or cherry blossom. Her resolve set, she walked from the house with Marcella in tow and climbed into the small Honda and the two girls headed to the mall.

“What’s the matter with you?”

“What,” Angela jerked her head up to peer at Marcella who sat drinking a coffee on the other side of the table. “What are you talking about?”

“You have been really quiet lately and it’s starting to freak me out.” Marcella told her.

Angela shrugged and peered down at the smoothie in her hand. She wasn’t really hungry but Marcella was insistent that she come to lunch with her. “It’s just been a long couple of weeks.”

She felt badly for not telling Marcie about things between her and Isaac but it seemed best. Especially now that she was sure there would be no consequences from that night. The first couple times she and Isaac had sex they used protection but the final time they didn’t have a condom but they’d gone for it anyway.

After shopping with Marcella the next day she went to the sexual health clinic and paid the $50 fee for the plan B pill and prescription birth control pills. 10 days later she started her period and she could breathe a little easier.

She realized she was staring into her smoothie and looked up. Marcella just sat there eyebrows raised and Angela began to laugh. “Ok, maybe I have been a little bit spacey lately.”

“You think?”

Angela swung a foot intending to kick Marcella but her friend had anticipated the move and already moved her legs out of reach.

“C’mon we should head back to the office. I don’t usually take long lunch breaks.” Angela told her as she gathered her purse and rose from her seat.

Marcella groaned but she grabbed her empty sandwich wrapper and rose to leave.

Back at the office she strode quickly to her desk. Marcella was right about her acting a bit different lately. The last couple weeks she’d bought a ton of new books, and watched a lot of rented DVDs but she hadn’t really felt like going out or doing very much.

Well, that will change today, she vowed. It was Wednesday and Jonathon Whitman usually left early on Wednesday. So she was determined to finish her task early for the day and hopefully get home a little bit early as well. She glanced at the closed office door. He didn’t generally take long meetings on Wednesday and she hadn’t seen him come out since before lunch.

She peered down at her watch 2pm, and he hadn’t emerged from his office yet. She stood and was headed to find Jessica when she bumped into Charles walking around the corner.

“Hey! Sorry about that!” he exclaimed catching her shoulder before she could stumble back.

“It’s okay. I can’t believe I didn’t hear you. The creaky spot in the hall usually give them away,” she told him. “Are you looking for Jon? He has been busy all day.”

“No. Actually I was searching for you.” he told her and fell into step beside her as she resumed walking.

“Oh, what for?”

“Live music in Greenwood Park on Friday. It’s supposed to be an R&B band with a little jazz.” he told her.

“Hmm, that does sound interesting. Is it one of the 6pm shows?” she asked him.

“Yeah, then they are supposed to be playing a movie at 7:30.”

Now I’m jealous.” piped Jessica from her seat at the reception desk.

“Don’t be,” replied Angela. “You are more than welcome to join us.”

“Really?” asked Jessica, her mood noticeably brighter than when they had first entered the room.

Angela looked at Charles to confirm the invitation.

Charles raised an eyebrow before replying grudgingly “Yes, the more the merrier right?”

His tone clearly indicated he felt otherwise but Jessica didn’t seem to notice because her smile didn’t fade one iota.

“Well, I guess we will be seeing you on Friday Charles.” Angela breathed a sigh of relief when Charles took the hint and disappeared around the corner.

“I actually came down here because I had a quick question for you.” Angela told her.

“You didn’t want to call?” Jessica asked doubtfully.

Angela shrugged. “The building isn’t that big. Has Mr. Whitman left the building for lunch?”

The blonde shook her head side to side slowly. “Not that I’ve seen.”

“And he hasn’t had any food delivered?” she questioned.

Again the blonde shook her head. “Not today.”

“Okay, thank you.” Angela turned to leave.

“Music in the park?” Jessica reminded her.

“Yeah, it’s at Greenwood Park at seven o’clock. It’s just a few blocks from Maple and Redding Drive.” Angela told her.

“Thanks,” replied Jessica with a friendly smile. “I think I know where that is.”

“It’s an easy place to have a good time. They set up a projector and play movies during the summer and a few food trucks will sell food at the end. It’s popular around here. Feel free to bring a friend if you want.”

Jessica’s smile faltered, but seconds later her megawatt smile was firmly back in place. “I actually haven’t made very many friends since I moved here.”

“Oh,” replied Angela unsure how to respond to that comment. The woman struck her as the type to have too many friends rather than the reverse. “Well, thank you again. I’ll see you on Friday.”
