“Morning, Vex.” Leo nuzzled the top of her head.

“It is the bestest morning ever, Pookie.” It totally was. Just over a week since their wedding, and she could say, with certainty, she got happier every day.

As Meena stretched, her movement atop Leo roused her big and burly mate, and by roused, she meant
roused
. It had become part of their morning routine. They now had many routines, such as her new sleeping spot.

What a novelty. Snoozing atop another person without needing to call an ambulance or find a Weight Watchers pamphlet taped to the fridge.

The first time she slid off him before she fell asleep, he’d yanked her right back on with a growled, “Don’t you dare move.”

“Even I can’t get into too much trouble when I sleep,” she’d teased, resting her head on his chest but perfectly content to return to her snuggly spot.

“Get into as much trouble as you like, Vex, so long as you keep that luscious body right here where it belongs. You’re a hell of a lot warmer and cuddlier than any blanket.”

Yeah, that sweet compliment got him some nookie. Leo was always doing and saying the nicest things, so he got nookie quite often actually.

Leo proved more amazing than she could have ever hoped for. Patient despite the fact mishaps followed her. Intelligent and capable of keeping her mind entertained. Sexy and giving when it came to loving in the bedroom. And possessed of a sense of humor, which was important, given how they’d broken their fourth bed last night.

Eyeballing the broken welds on the headboard of the brass bed, she remarked, “Who do you think won the bet this time?” Because, after the first two bed mishaps, a betting pool started.

“I won,” Leo purred as he flipped her onto her back.

“You mean you wagered on us breaking the bed?”

“Hell yeah I did. But I won more than that. I totally scored when it came to finding you.”

“Don’t you mean I found you? I mean, after all, it was my Frisbee that smacked you in the head.”

“A Frisbee I could have caught.”

“You never saw—” He shook his head. She giggled. “Pookie, you sly devil, do you mean you purposely let yourself get smacked by it just to meet me? But if that’s the case, then why play hard to get?”

“Because you scared me but that was before I realized you were exactly what I needed. I love you, Vex.”

“Pookie!” she squealed as she plastered him with smooches. “I love you too, so much that I am totally going to forget about the fact that Reba and Zena have a ticket for me to go to Russia and rescue my sister.”

“And miss out on a chance at a honeymoon? Did I forget to mention I’m going too? What do you say we go pay a tiger a visit?”

“Aren’t you afraid I might start a war?”

“I’d be more surprised if you didn’t. Now enough talking, Vex. It’s time for our morning nookie.”

And while they couldn’t break the bed any further, the condo below them did complain about cracking plaster.

“Hunh?” Eyes closed, and the lids too heavy to lift, her mouth a fuzzy peach in need of water, Teena’s mind struggled to wake from the most molasses sleep ever.

“Say I do,” hissed an accented voice for a second time.

“I do?” What did she do? Last she recalled, she was partying and drinking at her sister’s wedding, and letting a certain Russian tiger flirt with her. Then…

Nothing.

Giving her cobwebbed brain a mental shake, she pried her eyes open in time to see Dmitri’s handsome face hovering close to hers and hear the words, “I now pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride.”

What?!
