Standing alone in the corner, I held my breath and knocked back the rest of the drink back. It burned going down and when I was finished, a feeling of being light headed settled over me. “Whoa,” I giggled to myself. This must be what getting a buzz feels like. It was nice, really, really nice.
Soon, I laid my empty cup down on the counter and felt myself wanting to move my body to the beat of the music. I danced to two maybe three songs before I felt someone come up behind me and place their hands on my hips. It was a guy, that much I knew because of the sheer size of his hands on my hips. And with the warmth of the alcohol running in my veins I didn’t care who it was. I just liked this feeling of being loose, free. Our bodies continued to move in sync with each other as the music’s beat picked up its tempo.
It wasn’t until he pulled me against him and I felt his monstrously large arousal pressing into my back that I realized what I was doing. Jerking away from him, I turned around and faced Timothy, one of Craig’s friends from the football team.
I’m sure the shock registered all over my face, especially by the smirk he was giving me.
“I’ve got to go,” I quickly said, remembering that Craig was waiting for me upstairs.
Timothy didn’t say anything, he just continued to smile a smile that had cold chills racing up my spine while I slowly backed away from him. I couldn’t get out of their fast enough. After maneuvering through the crowd on the dance floor, I raced up the steps wanting Craig. I desperately wanted his arms around me in hopes that his touch would wipe away the remnants of Timothy's unnerving hands on my body.
How could I have done that? How could I have let him touch me like that? I had a boyfriend, one that I loved with all my heart. One that, in just a few minutes, I would be giving my virginity to.
Stopping in front of Cory’s door, I took a deep breath to compose myself. I was determined to put what happened downstairs out of my mind. Timothy didn’t matter. Craig did. He was all that I wanted right now.
Slowly, I opened the door and walked in to complete darkness. “Craig?” I whispered hesitantly.
“Close the door baby, and come here.” He replied from across the room.
For a second I was just stuck there, unable to move. I was ready for this, wasn’t I? I wanted this, I told myself again when another set of hands came down on my shoulders. “Chloe, come here,” Craig instructed, his voice a little harder than before.
My head snapped up because I suddenly realized that his voice was still across the room and someone else’s hands were on my shoulders, pushing me in his direction. “Craig, what? Who?” I stumbled over my words.
“You love me right?” Craig said and he turned the lamp on beside the bed. My eyes met his before I took a good look around the room to see three other familiar people, all friends of Craig's. He stood up and held out his hand to me, “Trust me, Chloe. We’ll make this a night that you’ll never forget.”
The phone started ringing. It had been ringing for several minutes Chloe realized before she struggled to stand up. Shoving the telling picture in her back pocket she crept across the room to where the phone sat on the table beside the bed.
With shaking hands, she picked it up and saw Troy’s name flashing across the screen. She swallowed hard as she tried to clear her head of the awful memories. She didn’t want to think about what happened anymore. She was going to have to toughen up if she was going back to Westbrook and face Craig again. He may have broken her once, but she would be damned if she would let him do it again.
Raising the phone to her ear, she pressed the send button and said, “Hello.”
