“How do you know
what I’m thinking? It amazes me how you do that.”

She shrugged, a
Mona Lisa smile tipping the corner of her lips. “I could tell you, but then I’d
have to kill you.” Lifting up on her toes she brushed her lips against his in a
gentle kiss. “Seriously, I am figuring out how you think. These guys have been
your family for a long time. You’re tight, so it stands to reason when one is
in pain, you would all share in it.”

“Have I told you
how amazing you are?”

She pursed her
lips as if pondering his question. “No, I don’t believe you have.”

“Well you are.
I’m so in love with you, wife.”

“Ditto,
my husband.”
She kissed him again, this time putting all her feeling into it.

When she lifted
her head, both of them were breathing a bit harder, and his erection pressed
against her thigh. She rubbed against him sending shockwaves of sensation
flooding his system. Gods, he wanted her. It didn’t matter that he just made
love to her less than an hour ago. His body was primed for more. Always would
be.

“Let’s go back
to bed. I have a few things I want to do to you and wouldn’t like an audience.”
His warm breath caressed her ear, sending a shiver of excitement cascading through
her body.

“Umm, I like the
sound of that.”

Zeke took her
hand and headed back to HQ, knowing tomorrow would be a long day for them. They
would set out on their long overdue trip to Atlantis. Both their peoples needed
to see the strength of their union. A thousand years of hostilities were not
going to disappear overnight. Even with
Laris
being
pardoned publicly his people were bound to still be suspicious and quick to
believe she had been a willing accomplice in the assassination attempt on his
life. He knew
Ja’mel
also wanted to discuss the
impending
Unseelie
threat and what both the
Mers
and
Atlanteans
could do, and
thus planned to join them in Atlantis, not just to discuss the war, but to also
show a united front of trust and goodwill.
Atlanteans
and
Mers
needed reassurance that everything between
the two kingdoms was on solid ground. As a first step in the ongoing peace
between the two kingdoms, he was hopeful.

Strategies and
the upcoming battle would just have to wait. For now he wanted only to lose
himself in the willing warmth of his wife’s body. Tomorrow would bring
challenges, but this night was for pleasure.
