“The truth
!”
Cameron spat with a disbelieving facial expression. “
Let’s
talk about the truth. Like how you bathe
d
and fed our son tonight
-

“Cam
,
that’s not fair
! P
lease don’t do this to me
,
not right now
!”

“Naw
,
fuck that all of
that! T
his bullshit is because of yo

trifling ass! Our son is in this situation because of you
!
” Cameron thumped Monique in the head. “
Y
ou end up in this nigga
Li’l
Boo
’s
closet in nothing but your panties, and now you creeping and holding secrets with my homeboy
.
” Cameron was ready to hit something. “Who the fuck are you
,
Monique?” Cameron stared her in the eyes
.

Cause a nigga don’t know no more!”

Monique interjected pleadingly
,
“I am the same woman that you f
e
ll in love with and married, Cam
,
and I know that no matter what I tell you, you’re not going to believe me. I’m not creeping with Dime, I didn’t sleep with
Li’l
Boo
,
and yes
,
I lied about bathing our son tonight. I don’t even know why,” she added truthfully. “But I won’t let you keep blaming me for what happened to Cam Jr. This is all Keisha’s fault. She’s the reason behind all of this!” Monique was choked up
o
n her words. “Our life was fine until Keisha left Tiger on our doorstep, Cameron
.

S
he paused. “Everything I’ve done was because and for us
-

Cameron frowned, waving Monique off. “Save all that shit, Monique! After my son recovers
,
I’m getting a fucking divorce. I didn’t sign up for this bullshit. If that was the case
,
I would have thugged it out with Keisha. At least with her I know she’d never creep with one of my homeboy
s!
” Cameron stated angrily. He had heard enough of Monique and the sight of her was making him sick.

Womp! Monique took her hand forcefully across Cameron’s face
,
angry that he had tossed Keisha’s name in her face and
then
had the nerve to compare them, which res
ult
ed in a tussle between the two.

Cameron grabbed Monique up by the mouth and then contained her by throwing her up against the wall
.
“Keep yo

muthafucking hands to yourself, cuh
,
on my Granny
,
rest in peace.
I swear to God
!

I
t took everything inside of Cameron not to strike Monique back. “Be glad I ain’t that nigga
,
girl,

cause I feel like whooping yo

muthafuckin’ ass!” Cameron mushed Monique into the wall to get off some of his frustration and then walked out
of
the room to be with his son. He’d catch up with the streets when he got there
,
and he planned on making the streets feel his wrath once and for all
.
I’m sorry
,
Granny, but these niggas gotta pay! I’m tired of playing Mr.
N
ice
G
uy. I’m about to show my ass
.

Keisha

Keisha was scheduled to meet up with Cameron the next day to see her son, but
she
had decided that it would be best that she took her son with her. Cameron Jr
.
was no longer safe with Cameron, and Keisha had made her mind up that if her son was going to be subjected to dodging bullets, he’d be dodging them with her. Keisha would protect him with her life. And although she didn’t know how Cameron would react or feel about her decision to take their son with her, Keisha’s decision was final and
she
didn’t plan on taking no for an answer.

Li’l
Boo
,
my ride is on his way. You need me to bring you anything?” Keisha yelled up. She had helped
Li’l
Boo shower, helped him back in bed, and then served him breakfast in bed. The fall
Li’l
Boo had taken and the wild passionate love the two had made all night long resulted in him waking up in a weakened state and in terrible pain.

“I’m good, love
.
” Lil Boo appeared at the top of the stairs
fully dressed,
to Keisha’s surpris
e,
without a cane, strapped,
looking fly as ever.
Keisha’s presence offered
Li’l
Boo the strength he needed to pull through the pain, and he wanted desperately to prove to Keisha that he was physically able to secure and protect her. He didn’t want her to leave and go back into hiding and
he
planned on convincing her to stay and move in with him.
Li’l
Boo made it down the stairs to Keisha and planted a kiss on her lips. Keisha was concerned about
Li’l
Boo’s physical health and suggested that he get back in bed, but he told her that he was al
l
right. He explained to her that he experienced the most pain
after a
good night

s sleep and how the pain generally subsided from ten to zero once he was up and moving. He told Keisha that he was getting stronger by the day and not to worry about him. “You’ve been worrying about enough
. Y
our baby daddy is straight,” he assured her and then he asked Keisha the question he had been dying to ask her. “You still in love with that nigga Cam?”
Li’l
Boo looked Keisha in the eyes. He knew how hard and deeply she had loved Cameron and
he
wanted to know the truth.

The question
dazed
Keisha and caught her completely of
f-
guard. She looked
Li’l
Boo back in his eyes
.
“I love Cameron, but I’m not in love with him. I stopped giving a fuck about Cameron when he gave up on me,” Keisha said passionately.

Li’l
Boo was curious. He wanted to know how long ago Keisha had stopped giving a fuck about him. “Oh yeah
? W
hen did you realize that?”
h
e asked.

“He left me hanging twice when I needed him the most. He left me when I was in jail, and then left me after giving me false hope after I got out of jail. Piru, there won’t be a third time.”

Li’l
Boo could tell that Keisha still loved Cameron from the look in her eyes, but at that moment
,
it didn’t even matter to him anymore because he planned to sweep Keisha off of her feet and floor her with all the love that she wanted and needed. “I

ma always come for you
,
baby, always
. Y
ou hear me?”
Li’l
Boo pulled Keisha close to him.

Keisha asked
Li’l
Boo if she could trust him. Their past wasn’t the best either.

“You can trust me with all your gangsta
-
ass heart
,

Li’l
Boo said
,
hoping to make Keisha laugh or put a smile on her face.

Keisha laughed and nodded her head yes. Tears of happiness beg
a
n to flow from her eyes. She wanted to trust and believe
Li’l
Boo so bad
ly,
but her heart wouldn’t let her.
Li’l
Boo embraced her in his arms. He knew Keisha needed a hug. When her
head hitter
texted her to open the garage
door, Li’l
Boo walked Keisha to the garage
. A
fter hitting the garage opener
,
t
he
two stood in the doorway and shared a
n
intimate kiss until the truck backed in.
Li’l
Boo opened the back passenger door for Keisha to climb inside. “Hurry back to me. I feel better when you’re around,”
Li’l
Boo told Keisha as he closed her door.

Keisha smile
d. S
he thought that was the sweetest thing
Li’l
Boo had ever said to her, but it saddened her that after she got her son
,
she would have to go. “I won’t be gon
e
long
. W
e can have dinner tonight before my flight
,
” Keisha
said as she
rolled the window down.

That wasn’t quit
e
the response
Li’l
Boo wanted to hear and it showed on his face. But if he couldn’t convince Keisha to stay with him
,
he thought fuck it
,
he would leave with her. “Yea
h,
a’ight,”
Li’l
Boo replied. “You just make sure tha
t Crip
-
ass weenie keep
s
his hands and lips to hisself.
Y
ou my woman now,”
Li’l
Boo announced proudly.

Keisha smiled sexily. “I’m all you
rs
, baby. I’m yo

bitch
.

Sh
e winked
,
recalling how
Li’l
Boo made love to her and called her his bitch all throughout the night.

Arrogant
ly,
Li’l
Boo spat
,
“That

s right
, Li’l
M
ama
,
I’m him and you my gangsta girl
. H
urry back,” he said as the driver slowly beg
a
n to pull out
of
the garage. In the past
,
it was that gangsta bitch in Keisha that pushed him further away from her, but over the time
,
Li’l
Boo learned to embrace, love
,
and accept Keisha for who she was entirely, and he wanted her to know that.

Keisha stuck her head out the window and waved goodbye
,
smiling at
Li’l
Boo through her eyes. It felt good to be loved again.

Thank you for breathing life back
-

Keisha’s words were interrupted by the slamming of the brakes of a Fed Ex truck blocking them in, and the roaring engine of a flower van that had rolled on to
Li’l
Boo’s lawn.
Keisha yelled for her driver to toss her a pistol. He did. She knew what time it was.

“Down, Kesh!”
Li’l
Boo yelled out to Keisha as he beg
a
n to exchange fire with the approaching gunm
e
n
,
who had emerged from the Fed Ex truck and flower van like roaches.

Cocked and loaded
,
Keisha put the
.38 revolver
out the window and start
ed
letting loose
,
shooting everything moving ahead of them. Before long
,
bullets were flying from every angle of the street as the Pirus on watch joined in to cover
Li’l
Boo against the tr
es
passers. Continuing to take one man out at a time
,
Li’l
Boo yelled for Keisha’s driver to get her out of there quick. “Get Kesh the fuck outta here, blood
,
and keep her safe.
W
e got this!”

“I’m not leaving you
,
Li’l
Boo!” Keisha yelled from the floor of the SUV where she was
kneeling down low and
reloading her clip.

After the driver emptied both of his weapons
,
he tossed them in the passenger seat and then floored it out
of
the garage, around the Fed Ex
truck
and then off the curb with Keisha hanging out of the window yelling and shooting violently.

“Piru
,
these muthafuckas can’t kill me, blood!” The rush from dodging death made Keisha fee
l empower
ed
and invincible.
“Stop this bitch right now!” Keisha demanded her driver to stop. She couldn’t grasp the idea of leaving
Li’l
Boo or fathom the thought of losing him.

“They got it covered
.
I have to get you to safety and to your son!”
t
he driver yelled back to Keisha, hitting corners, swerving
,
trying to assure
that
they both made it out of the neighborhood alive.

Keisha threatened. “Don’t make me hop out this wi
n
dow
,
because on everything
,
I will!” Keisha hit the button to roll the window down
,
preparing to climb out of the speeding SUV
,
when a UPS truck slammed into the driver
’s
side of them
,
causing the driver to lose control of the wheel and crash into a light pol
e
.
