Rachel got a perplexed look on her face.

“Yes, for years we had it crammed into us. The ‘Big Bang’ created the Universe.”

“Right; but, everyone only talked about the big stuff, galaxies, stars, planets, blah blah blah. No one ever looked at how ‘ideas’ or ‘emotions’ were born. Everyone was so overwhelmed with the speed of light then. Remember Einstein’s ancient, E = mc? The speed of light this, the speed of light that; oh my God. Only well into the second millennia did physicists realize, light exists within something. Get it? It exists within the body of time and space; therefore time-space expands faster than light.”

“Okay Darling; so what’s your point?”

“Well, that is also when another epiphany/discovery surfaced; that ideas-thoughts, emotions and even power, all were individual entities; part of creation too.”

“Jack, I am a doctor too; don’t lose me here.”

“The theory was that they were created, at the same time, with everything else; but each was independent of everything else, riding a subatomic highway called the Sidron. I had been studying the whole concept, a while ago, as part of an overall proposal to Brock/Swanson and Matt. But; I did not pull the ‘Sidron files’.”

The Tyree Master interrupted politely, “Excuse me; Mrs. Sheldon, Sidron ‘is’ a sort of a magnetic power. Technically, it is true; it is the subatomic highway; and, sometime, after it was discovered on the surface, scientists became afraid of investigating it; rightly so. Sidron is what connects every sub atomic particle to every other one-electron, photon, neutrino, quark…It is a network, tying everything together.”

Rachel shook her head and rolled her eyes, “So, why do I want to understand all this?”

“Babe, the Sidron enables conductivity, sort of. I mean it has its own strange charge, ‘it’, it’s self powering; unlike anything ever discovered before. We labeled it a magnetic charge; but, we really had no idea what it was. It allows transfer, movement of ‘anything’ from one particle to any other.”

“Yes; quite so, Dr. Sheldon…”

“Okay guys; tell me why I care. Even my four medical degrees don’t help here. Say in plain English?”

“Honey, listen; first, they thought of using it like a fax, or copy machine; only copying over very long distances. It would revolutionize communications; maybe even transportation. Signal frequencies-particle frequencies, of any kind, can travel the Sidron, to anywhere, instantaneously. But, they had no idea what experiments to conduct, to test the theory. The math worked; but reality-experiments, well; that was something else. The scientific community was stumped. They decided to do nothing, until they could put controls in place, which have not been discovered yet.”

“For the most part, you are correct, Doctor. But it is not just transmitting ‘anywhere’, that is our concern. It is that Sidron can be used to transmit anything, to ‘any time’. You see, Doctors, C.P.T. was only the door. Through the door, lies a whole new misunderstood world; and, that world explains the answer to your question, Mrs. Sheldon.”

Rachel perked up.

“What? You mean I was right about afterlife?”

“I am here, because we need your help. We have known about Sidron, as you call it, for a very long time. If the wrong people get a hold of certain knowledge, and try to use it; well, it would be bad for everything.”

“But why us?” Jack asked. “My notes are safe. I am giving all the files to the Complex. Matt knows this.”

“There has been a breach, within the Sidron’s time-scope. Someone discovered and used it, for personal gain or profit; and the breach has resulted in instability.”

“What? What can we do?”

“We want you to investigate. You have contacts at all the particle reactors, Switzerland, Oregon, Africa, and China. We believe the initial breech came from one of those locations, or from your Complex. No matter who uses Sidron, even for simple tasks; the threat is too great for us to ignore.”

“What are you asking?”

“If Sidron has been used, by someone, on the surface, he could not understand, even a small part of its scope…”

Jack shook his head no, “Come on; even scientists up there haven’t studied it. Most of the proofs are only on paper. No real experiments were ever conducted.”

“We both know the language of mathematics doesn’t lie. And you have key contacts. We want you to use them; and report back to me, directly. Here is a communicator, synchronized to me alone.”

The man handed Rachel a small, peanut shaped, smooth, pliable object.

“What do I do with this?”

“Squeeze it like this, and then like this.”

She did and watched, as a light appeared inside the stranger’s head.

“I will hear you, and come. Squeeze it end to end, and it will disintegrate. We can’t have that in the wrong hands, up there.”

“Well then, don’t lose it, Honey.”

The Stranger pointed to the surface and spoke in a worried tone, “I have appeared to you, to request your help. There are others, down here that are involved too. You are not alone.” He sighed and then continued, “Please, we all, obviously, trust you both. Contact me with any, I say any information you may discover.”

Jack scratched his head.

“Yes; well, I did share some information with one or two colleagues, abroad, to try and bridge basic hypotheses.”

“Your C.P.T. effort related to memory and personality. Whoever breached the Sidron, has no idea what he is dealing with.”

The stranger paced the Bubble, and spoke in a desperate tone, “I will tell you this. The laws of the subatomic world are very different and with good reason. It is true that ideas, emotions and power are, in fact, fixed entiti
es. All abstract concepts are just as real as concrete substances. They exist everywhere and ride the Sidron, constantly, within what you call past, present and future. But it’s all the same time really. Everything is held within Space-Time, which does expand much faster than light, in order to contain it, as well as everything else. So Space-Time holds the past, present and future altogether, you see.”

Rachel wasn’t buying it.

“How is that possible? Besides, we are not physicists, certainly not philosophers.”

“Well, not to be condescending; but, even your simple communications-your video, audio; all wireless frequencies are everywhere at the same time. They are all spherical waves. We live within it all; through it, if you will; and, we are given access to it-them, via the Sidron
; by function of our ‘ability’- our ‘capacity’, and our motivation to withdraw whatever we can, from it. Understand me, Doctors; we are talking about omniscient and omnipotent forces here.”

Jack continued quizzing, “So my hypotheses were correct. Within the subatomic world, there exist the solutions to cure all ills.”

The Tyree Master smiled, “You are way ahead of yourself. Here is a comparison for you. As you are to the totality of existence-a Universe, so are ideas to an atom. They are living entities, everywhere at the same time; part of the ‘big picture’. Some of us refer to it all as the bloodstream of the Cosmos. Others see it as the synaptic connection linking ‘everything’. Some of your kind may call it God.”

Jack’s medical mind kicked into second gear.

“All right; I did not experiment; but, I did not rationalize it either. My efforts were linked to C.P.T., true. So, I merged medical science with physics. My logic and the math led me. If C.P.T. works, then it followed that humans, animals, insects, anything that has brainpower, can acquire ideas or feelings. It’s their capacity to think that governs how much they learn.”

“Yes; and not
just sentient beings withdraw from the Sidron. Everything in a Universe uses ideas, emotions and power.” the Stranger said.

Rachel listened, rose slowly and whispered to herself, “So, we are not simply the result of an organic brain process.”

She turned and looked the Stranger straight in the face.

“You are saying God is truly within us; and, if we hone our abilities, and connect, in the right way, we can connect with him, or whatever our idea is of him. We can do anything. You’re saying there is a Heaven. Are you saying; I was in this Sidron and on the road to; to God?”

“Mrs. Sheldon, please?  There will always be some, who have more capacity than others to withdraw ideas, emotions and power from the Sidron; but, who is to say who or what that is, or should be? Certainly, not my kind.”

“Rachel, seriously; sit down, will you?”

Jack continued, “But proving what is in the Sidron, proving which cars are on the road; well that’s something else.”

“Exactly, Doctor; ideas, feelings and power are all alive. In fact, that is why the Sidron is so unstable. They are
all pushing and pulling, in every direction; competing constantly to be absorbed by life. They are used by all existence. Space-Time is a garden, an abundance of everything”

The stranger walked to the middle of the Bubble and looked out at the blackness.

“It is both the answer to the greatest mystery of all, and it is the greatest threat to everything you know. You must help us find the breach.”

Jack and Rachel embraced; and, she spoke again, “So, when I asked if we did something unholy, using C.P.T., I mean; I saw something…”

“Mrs. Sheldon, organized singular self awareness’s, which you call souls, may very well exist within Sidron; no one can answer you; but, it’s not that simple. These things are most difficult for us to explain, because one has no reference, with which to bridge the answers. There is no experiment you can do, to prove this. If there were, you would prove faith. My kind has been here for many eons. It is not since the ancient ancients, of your Sumerian culture, that your kind has stumbled onto anything of this nature. Both of you experienced a taste of it, because of C.P.T.; but that doesn’t even scratch the surface.”

Rachel kept prodding, “Maybe my education is far too feeble; but, there is no way you can just know all this.”

The Stranger bowed before them.

“Yes, there is; and we do. As I said; I have permission to tell you this. Dr. Sheldon, if someone succeeds in applying your ‘Particle Displacement Treatise’, and uses the Sidron highway, he or she could travel to and from any time. Who knows how it would disrupt the balance of life. Without the proper controls, we very well
would, not could, experience a cataclysm of Galactic proportions.”

Jack rolled his eyes.

“Jesus, Rachel; maybe you’re right about C.P.T.?”

“But, Jack, we are alive, because of your discovery.”

“She is right, Doctor. Now, we need your brainpower. Your creativity might just help fix this.”

“Fix what?”

“We believe the event at the ceremony is tied, somehow, to several time distortions we are sensing. They are all connected to the Sidron. We need you to examine everything you have. Be my eyes on the surface. Give us clues; help us find who or what has opened Pandora’s Box.”

“Christ; why not use your own wherewithal? Go into the future and see what happens?”

“I am sorry to say; it doesn’t work like that, Mrs. Sheldon. It has to do with ‘free will’. Explanations become muddied. I am not here to confuse you anymore than you might be already.”

Rachel sat back and sighed, “Well it’s not as if you expect us to save the world or anything.”

“True, we are only speculating that failure would change the course of existence; perhaps worse. Will you help?”

Rachel looked at Jack, as he said, “Yes, yes; but I don’t know where to begin.”

“You and your wife have been through something that gives you a sense of how important this could be, for every life in the Cosmos. If a lunatic finds out he can be anywhere, or worse, everywhere, at the same time; it would damage the balance structure of the Universe. Thoughts could be permanently damaged, or eliminated; not to mention what would happen to power. Time and space, as you know it, would be altered; and existence itself may cease; perhaps even eliminating this Universe altogether. Do you understand?”

The stranger seemed exhausted, and a little aggravated.

“Doctor, don’t get caught up in the ‘it’s all my fault pity party’.”

Rachel grabbed Jack’s shoulders and looked him in the eye, “Whatever it takes Jack, right?”

“Right…Okay…Christ.”

“Good; when you two get back, search any files.  Get a hold of your contacts. We have the cooperation of the GGM data base here…Agreed?”

“Yes, sure, fine.”

The Tyree Master smiled and walked to the far end of the Bubble.

“Think positive, you two; we are all still here. That’s a good sign.”

The couple felt a slight acceleration, as they watched the stranger absorb into the transparent membrane of the wall.

“Hmm, you know Rach; my mother always told me not to listen to strangers.”

“Well, perhaps this is one time, we should.”

Rachel squeezed Jack, and they sat arm in arm, looking at the outer rock begin to glow white hot again.

Chapter 6

Allenfar

A gold cloud surrounded the object. Jake Burns tried as hard as he could to see it clearly.
Just a little closer
, he thought. He reached, as far as he could stretch, with his fingers extended. They seemed to grow longer; but, no matter how hard he tried, it was just out of reach. He strained so much; his face began to turn beet red.
One more inch; Shit! I can get it…That fragrance, Roses; and Gold; it’s gold.”
