2012 and Beyond

There has been a great deal of media coverage about the so- called doomsday prophecy of December 21, 2012, but what does it all really mean? For those of you who are unfamiliar, this prediction is based on the Mayan calendar and like any record that keeps time, it has a beginning and end. On the Mayan calendar, day one began on August 11, 3114 bc and the last page, so to speak, takes place in the year 2012 ad, on December 21, to be exact. Just because the calendar ends, does not mean life on this planet will cease to exist or that the world will be destroyed. The end of the old calendar can also be interpreted as the beginning of a new era, so we may start to see conditions on Earth change both geologically and socially very quickly after 2012. There are in fact a number of significant astronomical events that will take place at this time. In my point of view, these events have to be more than a series of unrelated coincidences.

The first major event concerns our sun. Our star is not perfectly stable; its energy output changes over a twenty-two-year cycle. For eleven years we see a very quiet sun with few sun spots and minimal solar flares. For the next eleven years, we see a very active sun with many spots and enormous eruptions taking place on its surface. According to research done by scientists at the Max Planck Institute in Germany, there is a direct correlation between the solar cycle and climatic conditions on Earth.

As of the publication of this book, we are in a solar maximum, or active sun. For some unknown reason, the sun has been abnormally quiet and this concerns scientists at the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). In the years 2011 and 2012, our sun will be at the peak in this cycle; atmospheric and solar scientists fear we may be experiencing the calm before the storm.

It is thought that the sun is starting to build up energy for a number of massive solar flares that could be devastating for our tiny planet.

When the solar maximum cycle peaks in 2012, Earth will be subjected to much more solar radiation that it has received in the past decade. This will definitely have a direct effect on the magnetosphere of Earth and cause an increase in electrical energy being generated on the magnetic lines of force and ley lines surrounding the planet. It will also result in power blackouts, problems with satellite transmissions, and more spectacular views of the Northern and Southern Lights (Aurora Borealis and Australis). A good analogy of this effect would be pumping high voltage into a small cable. Since the great number of electrons cannot pass freely through the small cable, the result would be a considerable amount of energy built in the form of heat and an intense magnetic field. Applied to Earth, this phenomenon will cause the magnetic nodes on our planet, as well as other magnetic anomalies, to intensify.

Also in 2012, our sun and planets will align with the galactic equator, subjecting Earth to an increase in radiation from the central black hole of the Milky Way. This also means our solar system will experience a great deal more gravity and radiation, which in turn will affect atmospheric and geological forces, and perhaps the rotation and revolution of our planet. Some geophysical scientists believe this may result in our planet wobbling more in its orbit and a shift on its axis resulting in a change of direction where the poles line up with the celestial sphere.

Last but not least, it is predicted that Venus will cross the disk of the sun in the summer of 2012 so our sister planet will be directly aligned with Earth.

So what does all this have to do with the paranormal? I believe that most of what we label as a “paranormal event“ filters into our world from a number of parallel dimensions. A supercharging of Earth’ s magnetic field could cause the barriers of these parallel realities to either break down or fold on each other resulting in both realities merging for an unknown period of time. Such a merger would allow forces and perhaps living creatures of two or more realities to intertwine. An easy way to understand this is to imagine a hotel with adjoining rooms. Normally, the door is locked and you can’ t see the adjacent room’ s occupant(s). However, you may hear some activity on occasion but the information you have about your neighbor(s) is limited. Now imagine there is no door or that it is partially open; the amount of information about who is staying there has increased considerably. Not only can you hear them clearly, but as they pass by the door, you can see them.

It is very possible this has taken place a number of times in the past giving rise to our legends of dragons, dwarves, fairies, trolls, and Djinn. These creatures of mythology (and sometimes our nightmares) can be found in the legends of many cultures across the world, and the truth of their reality may be more then we are willing to admit. As we enter a new beginning in 2012, human beings may experience a considerable increase in UFO sightings, psychic contact, and other types of paranormal phenomena. I believe everyone can sense the change taking place in our world. It is my belief that we should not fear the coming of 2012, but look at it as a new start for the inhabitants of Earth. When this time arrives, everyone’ s life will be filled with wonder and awe because another reality will be merging with our own; human consciousness will be greatly expanded!

A Brief Analysis

Over the years I have accumulated a great deal of data regarding all aspects of the paranormal. If you are a researcher and let the reports and case investigations sit in a binder, then it really doesn’t do any good at all. Luckily, on many of the investigations I also collected the exact date and weather conditions at the time of the report. Some of the analysis presented in this chapter is based on 854 reports of paranormal events from my files; many cases go back a number of decades or even further. In this study I excluded UFO reports, because if they were also included, the number of raw cases would go into the thousands. This is because I have a very large data bank concerning the sightings that took place during the 1982–1999 flap in the Hudson River Valley. The total number of UFO reports overshadows other paranormal events, and so I have been left them out. I personally investigated many of these 854 cases. Some occurred before my time, requiring a considerable amount of research in magazines and newspapers archives. In some cases, I was able to personally interview original witnesses, their families, and friends.

I tried to make the following graphs as accurate and clear as possible so the reader will be able to see patterns among the case studies. This pattern is apparent when the month, time of day, phase of the moon, and weather conditions are taken into consideration. In one of my previous books analyzing the UFO-Contact situation, I included a number of charts and graphs and received a few negative responses from self-proclaimed “scientific researchers” complaining the data was not presented “scientifically”; and at too simplistic a level. I’d like to remind these people that the actual time and funds needed to do this type of work is considerable; 99 percent of all paranormal-UFO investigators do research on a part-time basis while juggling a full-time job and family matters. There is very little money from royalties and lectures to fund in-depth, full-time study, so real science in this field is at a minimum. Also, this publication is not a paper for
Scientific American
; my goal was to make my findings as clear as possible for all who read this book. I feel that my work and the efforts of many others over the years, (although team efforts are somewhat not cohesive at times) are preparing the plot upon which the foundation of a new science will be built.

Chart 1: Breakdown of Type of Case

This study is based on 854 cases that have either been placed in a specific category or in one that closely represents the type of phenomena.

AP: This includes all types of apparitions.

NL: Nocturnal globes of light: includes spook light (I have also included globes of light seen in the daytime)

CRE: Strange creatures, Bigfoot, lake monsters, ECT

US: Unusual sound: Voices, growls, howling, electronic, music and a host of others

EP: Electromagnetic phenomena: Glows, unknown effects on cars, radios, and other technologies

POLT: Poltergeist, the moving or bending of physical objects, and people without explanation

COM: Communications, dreams, channeling, drawings, automatic writing, Ouija boards, and ghost box communications

PSY: Psychic phenomena: increase in abilities of those who claim to be psychic, or not be psychic. Can take the form of a wide variety of events from precognitive dreams to out-of-body experiences

FAL: Falls from the sky

CUL: Cult-related activity

PP: Paranormal photography: imaging the unseen

Chart 2: Month and Frequency of Event

The greatest numbers of reports are made in October. Interesting, given this is also the time of the year that many cultures claim a parallel world of spirits is close to ours.

Chart 3: Time of Day

I only had the accurate event times from 620 cases. The study is based on a 24-hour clock with one in the morning represented as 1 and one in the afternoon as 13. All times were rounded off to the nearest hour.

Chart 4: Lunar Phase

Is there a relationship between a paranormal event and the phase of the moon? It seems likely, but it does not take place on full or new moon; instead, two to three days after each. Although the time period from full moon to full moon is 29.53 days, in this graph 1 represents new moon, 15 represents full moon, and 30 represents the time just before new moon. To know the lunar phase, I needed to have the exact day of the month and year. I could only do this for 614 cases. Arrows indicate locations of new and full lunar phase.

I have to admit, this was a difficult one since I could only use data in which I was able to gather the relevant information. It is based on 230 cases.
