What happened Misty?” he questioned he was choked. Seeing the way he had her and backed up against the wall.

I still think we need to go Vince,” she said and started to tear.

He pulled her to him. He kissed her then hugged her and held her.
“I think your right,” and he closed his eyes tight to hold back the tears. They went and told the therapists what happened. Misty had to tell because Vince didn’t remember.

Why when she grabbed you Vince why do you think you said that?” the therapist asked

I don’t know.”

Then Misty thought for a few minutes
“Wait that time you cheated on me. When I slapped you.” She looked at both of them. “You told me never to strike you again.” Misty said.

But I have never been abused.” Vince said.

Are you sure?” asked the therapists

Yes positive my parents never abused us kids. We got spanked now and again but never abused.”

They started going back farther into Vince
’s past. Through his teenage years seem to be normal. Now they were in to his childhood years. When they got to the age 10 that’s when they found out where it all began. Vince’ was traumatized and had suppressed memories. And the therapist found out firsthand what some of Misty went through and what Vince did.

He was talking about a summer camp he went to. The counselors there were nice. There was this one counselor all the young boys fell in love with. She was beautiful. Vince remembered and smiled. She had long dark hair like Misty. She was nice and helped everyone. But she had a very jealous boyfriend and he worked there as well. Vince remembers him grabbing her at times. But one night Vince was up, when he wasn
’t supposed to be. He was out at the docks. He heard someone coming so he hid. Vince stopped speaking at this point and Misty touched his arm. Vince started to breath rapidly. He grabbed Misty up and started pushing her back towards the wall. Misty started to call for him, but the therapists told her to stop.

What do you see Vince?” the therapists ask.

You shouldn’t have embarrassed me Misty,” Vince’s voice was low and chilling.

Misty just looked at the therapists the therapists told her to be quiet.

Vince had Misty pushed back up against the wall. He pushed his body against hers.

He grabbed the back of her hair and pulled her head back. Misty started to panic and the therapist told her to stay still.

“Vince what do you see? What do you hear? Vince?” the therapists called him.

Vince stopped his breathing slowed
. “He has her against the wall. She is crying trying to get away,” Vince stopped looked at Misty. He released her put his hand over his mouth.

He started backing away
. “What else do you remember Vince?” asked the therapist.

I don’t know I can’t remember,” he replied his voice was straining. Misty slowly walked up to him. “Stay away Misty!” Vince put his hand out.

Vince I want to help please don’t push me away not now,” she started to cry.

Vince fell back into the chair. He looked up at both of them and said
. “Three months after camp was over,” he took a deep breath. “They found that girl, she was murdered.”

Misty gasps and put her hand to her chest. The therapists didn
’t know what to think.

Do they know who killed her Vince?” asked the therapist.

I heard my parents talk about it. They always thought the boyfriend. But it never was proved.” Vince just sat there.

Misty was now more scared
than ever and Vince could tell. He wanted her to leave now. He was afraid more than her. He couldn’t remember what he saw. But whatever he did see. He was doing the same things to Misty. Now he was of afraid of Misty words, he would try and kill her.

The next few sessions they realized Vince did and done bits and pieces of things to Misty. And he was replaying that night. When he got upset or mad or when certain things set him off. But that night when he held Misty up against the wall, was the worst part he saw. Finally they made a break through and Vince remembered everything. He then told them exactly what happened and it chilled them all.

“He had her there, she was crying. He said she embarrassed him. He lifted his hand like he was going to hit her. But she grabbed him he stopped. He then told her never to grab him. She pulled away trying to get away. She went to strike him and he grabbed her other hand. He told her never to strike him. He held both her arms above her head. I saw her feet almost off the floor,” he stopped when Misty started to tear up.

She begged him to let her go. But he kept telling her she had to learn a lesson. He stepped between her legs and she started screaming for him to stop. I saw her feet leave the floor. I closed my eyes and covered my ears, but I still heard her. Then he dropped her. She fell to the floor and she saw me,” he stopped and looked at both of them. He took a deep breath then continued.

She was crying and shaking. Her face was swollen. She brought her fingers to her lips and went… shhhh. I nodded my head. He sat down right next to where I was hiding. I could see his legs. He told her to get up and come to him, she did. He told her she shouldn’t make him upset like that. He told her to say she was sorry, she did. I heard him kissing her. He told her how good she made him feel. I saw him lay her on the floor. All I could see was their legs. He was on top of her. She sounded like she was okay, but she probably was scared. I covered my ears but I still could hear them. He kept telling her how much he loved her. And how good she made him feel. He told her she shouldn’t make him angry. He told her to say she was sorry, she did” He stopped and looked at Misty. “Were you scared Misty?”

Misty dropped her head and closed her eyes
. “Sometimes Vince,” she quietly said.

They just sat there.

“Then what happened?” asked the therapists.

After that they got up and got dressed. They left I came out from hiding. When I saw them disappear, I ran back to my bunk house and covered my head. I was scared he would find out I was there. In the morning I didn’t see her. But I saw him and he scared me.

The next day I saw her. She came up to me and sat next to me. She said I done a good job on my kite. She looked right at me and said, If I knew what was best for me forget I saw anything. I could tell she was scared. I nodded my head and she smiled. Just then he came up. He pulled her to her feet I heard him say, Met me and don
’t make me wait. You know what happens when you make me wait. She nodded her head. She looked at me again and said. “You done a great job on that kite Vince,” and she smiled again. She turned and left.

He walked up to me and said
‘you did do a good job on that kite. But I think you have to fix this.’ I said, fix what? He took his hand and broke it. And he looked at me and said, ‘that,’ and walked away. I didn’t know if he knew or not but I was scared.” Vince just sat there everything he saw came back and it chilled him.

How was she murdered Vince?” Misty asked.

She was strangled,” he choked out. Misty gasps.

Do you remember their names?” the therapists asked

Vince thought
. “It’s been over 12 years now I can’t remember, wait, Tina, I think her name was Tina,” he said.

They finally realized these memories were haunting Vince. And somewhere in his mind he thought loving Misty changed him. And it was her fault he fell in love with her. And he was upset and embarrassed that no other woman could satisfy him. So he had to punish her for that. He saw
, what he thought, love was supposed to be like. And he acted out on it in his subconscious. Now they knew the problem but now they had to deal with it.

CHAPTER 10~

Misty wanted to help Vince. She had been with him through it all. It was her that caused this. She did blame herself because of her stupid fantasy. But yet if it wasn’t for her Vince’s heart could have given out on him. And he was so young.

Misty was curious about this murder. So she decided to do research on it. And she was horrified at what she found. The girl was actually raped and murdered. Vince probably didn
’t know that. She looked at the girl’s photo and she looked similar to herself. She looked at her boyfriend’s photo and he spooked her. The killer was never found. But the boyfriend was always a suspect in the case. She sat there and thought what a terrible thing it must have been for Vince, at such a young age to watch those things happen. She felt so bad. And he carried those things hidden deep with in him. She wanted more than anything now to help him. She wanted to help him get over it. She knew it was going to be tough for both of them. But she did love him.

More and more Vince started getting better. It was when he got jealous they had problems. But they both worked through things. Misty wasn
’t scared anymore. She knew what to do and how to handle things. Vince felt terrible though. Misty would calm him down before he would do anything. They took regular trips to the therapists. And Misty insisted Vince still went and got test done on his heart. She wasn’t leaving anything to chance. Vince realized how much she must really love him. She was runny herself ragged trying to help him and get him well. She was doing research on surpassed memories and the effect they could have on people. She was working a lot of over time. But yet she always made time for him. She never stopped she was always on the go.

Vince found himself falling in love with her more and more every day. It pained him to think of the things he done to her and some of the things he still does. And she never complained she would smile and say,
One day this won’t happen
. She would kiss him then love him with great passion. He wanted to get well. He wanted to give her everything.

It seemed like Vince was getting well. Misty would do things to upset him on purpose. Just to see how he would react and he handled things fine. She pushed him a little here and there. She was happy he was happy. It
’s been awhile since Vince had a blackout. But Misty was always cautious.

Vince and Misty went out one weekend. She finally had a Saturday off. And Vince wanted to take her out someplace special. They were having a good time when Vince noticed a guy staring. He had a magazine in his ha
nd. Misty felt Vince stiffen and she looked at him. She looked at was he was looking at and said. “You know that’s not me right Vince?”

Yes I know, but they don’t,” and he looked at her.

Misty stood in front of Vince to block his view from the guy and said
. “You got the real thing right here Vince.” And she kissed him.

Vince smiled
. “Yes your right.” He kissed her back.

Let’s go it’s getting late.” Misty said.

They left and went home. Misty was in a playful, loving mood and so was Vince. But Misty
’s words kept going through his mind for some reason,
you got the real thing
. He couldn’t shake it. He tried but couldn’t. As he loved her the words kept going over and over in his mind. He started getting aggressive.

What did you mean,” he said as he kissed her.

Misty was breathing hard she couldn
’t think. “Mean what?” she caught her breath.

Vince started getting more aggressive
. “Vince stop,” Misty got out.

Tell me!” he snapped at Misty.

Misty looked at him. He changed so fast, she didn
’t have time to respond. He had her pinned down and she never was expecting it.

Tell you what Vince?” she questioned she was breathing so hard.

What you meant. I have the real thing,” he said looking at her.

Misty didn
’t know what he was talking about at first then it came to her. “You have me and not a picture,” she quickly said.

I don’t believe you,” he growled.

His lips covered hers. Misty started to struggle. He took his hands and put them around her throat. He started to choke her. She grabbed his hands trying to pry them off.

“Vince you’re choking me, you’re choking me…Vince…” soon everything went black on Misty.

Who’s choking you? Who is choking you? Misty, Misty!” a voice called her name.

Misty sits up gasping for air. She looks around. She has tears in her eyes. She is in panic.

“Who is choking you Misty?” her sister says.

Misty looks around, she is home at her parents in her bed.
“He is choking me,” she gasps

Who?” her sister says again.

Misty thinks
. “I can’t remember his name. He was my…” she stops and looks at Kimmy.
