She walked him to the door
. “Did you find what you were looking for?”

Misty smiled
. “Yes Vince I did.”

“
Why did you lie Misty?”

“
Would you have loved me if you have known?”

“
You wanted me all this time?”

“
Yes Vince I did. Now you promised to leave me alone.” Misty opened the door. Vince left. He was now more confused than ever, but he did promise. She made him feel so good, he couldn’t get over the feelings he had. He sat in his car for a few minutes and stared at her house. “I want more of you Misty,” he said to himself. He started his car and left.

Misty went back to the bedroom she looked at the sheets. Tears started to fill her eyes as she grabbed them off. She took them to the laundry and through them down. She sat down
. “Well Misty you finally done it and now it’s over,” she sniffled. She sat there for a few minutes as she cried. Then she got up to take a shower. As she was washing her body it burned with pain. She stood there and cried. She finally calmed down and got out. She fixed her bed and tried to go to sleep. But it seemed impossible..

In the morning she was awaken by someone knocking. She got up and it was Kimmy.
“What are you doing here so early?” Misty questioned.

“
Well wanted to know if you wanted to go shopping. They are having great sales today.” Kimmy said.

“
No think I will stay home.” Misty went to sit and she sat so carefully and Kimmy noticed.

“
Are you okay Misty?”

“
Yes,” she glanced to the sheets in the laundry. Kimmy followed her glance.

“
Misty?” Kimmy looked at her.

“
It’s nothing Kimmy.” Misty looked at the table.

Kimmy got up and went to go to grab the sheet
. “No!” Misty hurried over.

“
Misty don’t tell me…” she stopped.

“
Okay Kimmy okay, yes I was and now I am not. Happy?” she turned away and walked back and sat down at the table.

Kimmy stood there in shock
. “I had no idea Misty,” she looked at her sister. She went and sat beside her.

“
No one did, not even him until the last minute,” Misty was wiping the tears that were falling..

“
Why Misty, why hide something like that? You should have been proud, happy and not ashamed. Who was it?” Kimmy looked at her. But she had a feeling already, who it was.

“
Come on Kimmy don’t tell me that. You were always saying loosen up. You’re going to be an old maid. Have some fun. There was a reason Kimmy. And as for who, It’s none of your business.” Misty was getting upset with her sister. She was like blaming her.

“
Why are you blaming me Misty? I didn’t know. I thought you already did. With you know who before.” Kimmy looked at her.

“
Well it didn’t happen. He told me he wasn’t going to. He said because then he would have a crying little bitch chasing after him. He just told me I wasn’t worth it. After that I just …” Misty started to cry.

“
Misty I am so sorry I didn’t know.” Kimmy hugged her.

“
Well it hurt me Kimmy. And I thought I would never find out what it was like. I thought all guys would be that way. I promised myself I would wait until I found my fantasy man. I wouldn’t tell him because if he knew he would turn me away. I also told myself after it was over I would make him leave. And never bother me anymore. That way he wouldn’t feel obligated, you know.” She sniffled.

“
It was Vince wasn’t it?” Kimmy asked.

Misty just looked at Kimmy and Kimmy knew by her look it was Vince.

“Why do you want to know?” Misty asked.

“
Why won’t you give Vince a chance Misty? He seems to like you a lot.”

“
Kimmy I had that dream and I freaked out. Same guy, same name. Think about it he tried to kill me!” Misty was getting upset again.

“
You probably heard his name that night and didn’t realize it. That’s why the name is the same.”

Misty thought, she did think she heard his name, but she was so tantalized by him she was unsure.

“
Have you ever thought Misty that, that dream you had you were fighting yourself?” Kimmy said

“
What are you talking about Kimmy,” Misty just looked at her.

“
Well think about it Misty. The girl in the photo, you said you could be twins. Something you want to be but afraid to be. You’re fighting against yourself. You’re making him choose? It’s driving him crazy it’s tearing his heart apart. You’re doing things to him making him go crazy. He can’t take it anymore. You’re choking the life out of the relationship. Because you can’t make up your mind who you want to be? Your hiding who you really are Misty. And Vince might be a guy that really will love you and you won’t even give him a chance. Because you’re afraid you’re not good enough. You’re afraid what other people will think. You’re afraid of taking a chance. Quit being afraid all the time Misty.” Kimmy glared at her.

“
I wasn’t afraid last night Kimmy,” Misty glared back at her.

“
Yes you were. You would have never made him make that promise and he might still be here. You’re afraid what other people will think.” Kimmy replied.

“
I am being myself.” Misty said

“
No Misty, no you’re not your hiding, hiding feelings. You’re hiding yourself until you realize that, you are always going to be unhappy.” Kimmy stood up.

“
Kimmy…” Misty started.

“
What did he say when he left Misty?” Kimmy asked.

Misty looked down
, “He asked me if I was sure I wanted him to leave,” her voice sounded shaky.

“
He wanted to stay with you Misty. And you just pushed him away just like you do everything else.” Kimmy turned to leave.

“
Am I that bad Kimmy?” Misty questioned

“
Look around you Misty. Who are your friends? Do you have a boyfriend? Me, Mark, mom and dad are the only ones you have Misty.” And she walked out the door.

Misty thought about what her sister said. And she was right in
away, she had no-one. She thought about last night and the feelings she had, were incredible. But did he really feel the same? He probably would say what she wanted to hear anyway. She shook her head and told herself to forget about it, it was over.

Misty finally got everything unpacked and she was settling in. She was still working a lot. She always worked over time and never refused it. It’s been a couple weeks since her and Vince been together. And she hasn’t seen or heard from him. She figured he was true to his word. So she didn’t worry about it anymore and started getting on with her life. But she always thought about that night.

Kimmy and Mark saw Vince at a party and Vince asked about Misty.

“How is Misty?” he asked Kimmy.

“
Herself,” Kimmy replied and just looked at him.

“
Why…” he started.

“
I don’t know,” Kimmy said.

“
I didn’t know Kimmy not until…” he started.

“
I know she told me.”

They stood there in silence then Vince said
. “Does she ask about me?”

Kimmy and Mark looked at each other
. “No,” Kimmy replied.

Vince started to walk away. Misty was on his mind all the time. But he promised to leave her alone and he was a man of his word. If she wanted him, she would have to come to him now.

“Vince,” Kimmy said.

“
Yes Kimmy,” he turned back.

“
I have something to tell you,” she said.

“
What’s that?” he questioned

Kimmy looked at Mark
. “I will be right back Mark.”

“
Kimmy…” Mark looked at her.

“
I know I know.” She looked at Mark then Vince. Mark looked at Vince then shook his head. Kimmy took Vince to the side. “Vince I didn’t know this until after you two…” she looked at him.

“
After we slept together Kimmy,” he said.

“
Yeah that. Anyway I didn’t know she was a…” Kimmy looked at him again.

“
Virgin.”

“
Yeah that. I always thought, well, she was with this other guy a while back. And I always thought they you know, but they didn’t. I thought it strange the way they broke it off. Apparently he told her she wasn’t worth it. He didn’t want her hanging around him. After it was over more or less because he was her first and all.” Kimmy stood there looking at Vince.

Vince shook his head
. “What a fool he was.”

“
So she was hurt and thought no-one would want her if they knew. She thought she would never find out what it was like. She decided to wait and find the right man and not tell him. Then make him leave so he wouldn’t feel obligated.” Kimmy looked at the ground “Do you understand now Vince?” she looked back up at him.

“
Makes sense I suppose.”

“
Then the dream. I think she was fighting herself. It wasn’t the man killing her. It was her killing any relationship because of that hurt. She was afraid to be herself and now she hides. She doesn’t think she is good enough for anyone.” Kimmy started to tear.

“
I can’t go after her Kimmy, I promised. And I won’t go back on my word. And I know she won’t come to me because she will think of obligations. I do want to be with her but I don’t see how Kimmy,” he looked at her.

“
I know Vince, but I just wanted to let you know the reason behind it all.”

“
I appreciate it Kimmy.” Vince gave her a faint smile and walked away.

Vince thought about what Kimmy told him. What a fool t
hat guy was to turn Misty away. He destroyed such a beautiful woman. She had so much to give and now she hides.

A month has gone by and Misty hasn
’t seen Vince, but she thinks about him all the time. She dreams of him she yearns for him. One day while Kimmy was over she asked about him.

“
Have you seen Vince lately?” Misty asked and she quickly looked at the floor.

Kimmy was shocked when she asked
. “Yes I have Misty. Why do you ask?”

“
Just wondering how he is doing that’s all.”

“
He does ask about you Misty.” Kimmy looked at her. Kimmy saw a smile.

“
He does?” her eyes sparkled.

“
Yes Misty, why don’t you come to the party tonight? I am sure he would like to see you.”

“
I, I don’t think so.” She quickly said.

“
Do you regret telling him to leave you alone Misty?”

“
I didn’t want him to think he had to stay Kimmy.”

“
Misty, take a chance on him. He really likes you. He respected you when you told him to leave you alone.” She grabbed her sister hands.

“
I don’t want him to think I am chasing him just because Kimmy.” Misty looked at her.

“
He won’t think that not at all Misty.”

“
How do you know that?”

“
I just do Misty, I just do. Come to the party.” Kimmy pleaded with Misty to come to the party.

“
Okay, okay I will go. But…” she started.

“
No buts Misty now get dressed.” Kimmy was all smiles.

Misty got dressed. She put on a button down shirt and a pair of blue jeans and Kimmy just shook her head. They got to the party and Mark was surprised to see Misty. He nudged Vince and he turned around. Misty and Vince
’s eyes met. They just stood there and gazed at each other. Soon they both started walking towards each other. They met each other in the middle.

“
Hello Vince,” Misty smiled her face was flushed.

“
Hello Misty,” Vince smiled back. Mark and Kimmy were just watching them.

“
How have you been?” Vince asked.

“
Miserable. And yourself?” Misty said.

“
Better now that I have seen you.” And he touched her face.

Misty closed her eyes for a second.
“Would you like to go outside?” she asked.

“
I would,” Vince replied. They turned and headed for the door. They got out side and the night air was cool and it chilled Misty and she shivered. Vince put his arms around her and she shivered again.
