Sophie stared at the nurse while proceeding with her job.

Sophie couldn’t help but ache in the pit of her stomach knowing Calvin was fast asleep in her bed, looking cute, not forgetting adorable.

Sophie after a short time said
goodnight
to Kacey leaving her kicking and waving her arms about, sensing she was getting her days and nights mixed up, which will not help her when she finally gets her home, unless her routine can get changed

Making her way slowly back to the bedroom. She inhaled a deep breath before taking hold of the door handle and entering the room. Her heart went like the clappers. She opened the door and could already see light flaring through the curtains. She saw Calvin lying on the bed truly gorgeous. Calvin fast asleep snuggled in the foetal position. How cute could one man possible be? She quietly got a nightie out of the draw. She removed the robe, due to becoming very hot. She put the nightie on. She turned to take one more look at the man sharing her bed, he was perfect in every way.

Sophie with great care shuffled herself into Calvin, her bottom pressed against his tummy. He groaned somewhat and muttered a few words before she got into the positon she wanted. Her bottom pressed against his tummy. He nuzzled in closer and placed his right arm over her. Sophie smiled and shuffled further into him, loving his closeness. Their bodies wrapped together, giving her all the warmth and comfort she could imagine.

Having him this close was an experience she would want forever.

He woke up to find Sophie lying on his chest, her hands spread out snoring a little. He didn’t wish to move, but his manhood died to take a pee and if she woke up, she would be mortified to find his rod huge. He had felt blessed that she hadn’t woken last night to find his member erect, just knowing she would have got the wrong impression, or not as the case. He wanted her and there was no denying that, he just wished he had the balls to tell her.

Not wishing to wake her, he needed to try somehow to get her out the bed and take the vital pee. He really didn’t wish to disturb her and risk any possibility of embarrassing himself, example when she’d caught him that time in the cottage. He chuckled, remembering that morning and how he’d been half asleep and Sophie had been standing in the kitchen and shouted out, making him aware. He went bright red having no choice but to grab something quick to cover his privates up, using his hands followed by heading side stepping for the bathroom quickly.

Slowly, he tried to move his body, away from Sophie, only she was snuggled into him, making him hot and sweaty, knowing there was no chance of not waking her. He would try. He crept his body further and further away from her keeping a close eye on her movements. Sophie grunted and swung her arms a few times. He paused, the severe strain on his member hurt him. He watched her seeing her nuzzling into the pillow without opening her eyes clearly exhausted, needing further sleep.

He continued to slide his body down the bed keeping his eye on Sophie, not believing how pretty she looked. He knew she’d disappeared during the night, and gone for quite some time. He had fallen back to sleep when woken by her climbing back into bed, the robe gone, wearing a nightie. He loved the fact during the night she wiggled her bottom into his tummy, he couldn’t resist but to wrap his arm around her, held her tight making her secure, he became lost and engrossed in their connection. He never wanted to move.

Once to his feet, he had to gaze at her. He hitched his breath watching her chest lift up and down, her lips parted for breathing. He resented the fact his manhood was erect, as he would have preferred staying there with her, holding her close enjoying the moment.

He slowly and quietly left the room, trying his hardest not to wake her. She was fast off.

Calvin stood at the mirror above the sink staring into his brown eyes. He sighed wondering how on earth he was going to make the day special, try to have that perfect moment to tell her how much he loved her. He had to tell her that living in London killed him. The distance excruciating. The thought of not seeing her for days, left him sick to the core, what if something happened up north? He had no chance of getting back in a hurry. Then if Sophie needed that vital cuddle, reassurance, there was nothing he could do, but talk or skype her, not exactly warming. It wasn’t like London was an hour away it was three to four, depending on how the motorway was and on Friday evenings was always horrendous. He hated the distance that would be between them.

He had serious plans today and would succeed no matter what! He had to tell Sophie how he felt then afterwards he would go to his father and see what they could arrange regarding the family business. Calvin felt certain his father would bring him back up north and have him working in the York or Harrogate branch. Calvin wasn’t stupid knowing there would be harsh words. He’d promised his father in the beginning when he first decided to take the position he would be happy to stay in London and run the branch without wanting to come back to York…he screwed up his face.

“Oops, failed, Calvin.”

He inhaled a deep breath he never thought or imagined a woman up north would re-enter his life, and send his heart in a spin. He turned the cold water tap on to throw the water over his face to freshen up. His heart skipped to the dozen, anxious about telling her how he truly felt for her. Calvin wouldn’t mind, but he had never struggled before with his emotions, generally cool, collect and nothing phased him, in fact he’d always been hard as nails, he guessed coming from the positon he held. However, he guessed due to the temperamental time they both had been having, it just hadn’t been appropriate. However, he couldn’t continue to go on like this another minute, he didn’t wish to think about hours, weeks, or years how that would affect his heart.

He had no choice he would have to entice Sophie out the hospital and take her somewhere nice to express his love.

Once freshened up, he made his way back to the room. He trembled unsure of how Sophie would react to him taking her out for a few hours. He took hold of the door handle, slowly opening it. He popped his head around the door to find Sophie stirring.

“Morning,” she mumbled, smiling at him while taking a stretch.

“Morning. Did you sleep good?” he inquired, entering the room wearing only his trunks, delighted he had managed to relieve himself.

“Yeah, I did thank you. Well had to get up and express, but other than that. I think you should be my comfort blanket,” she mocked, while he watched her wiping her eyes. She sat up in the bed with the bedding moving with her.

He noticed the large wet patches under her boobs.

“You mean like now?” he mentioned not wishing to make a big thing about her breasts leaking, especially as it was giving her daughter the best start to life.

Sophie looked down horrified and instantly pulled the cover up to her chest, shying away from him.

“You know it’s okay, I don’t mind. I think it’s wonderful what you’re doing for Kacey,” he thought to say.

Intent on watching her reaction, he saw her swallow hard lifting her head to gaze at him.

“My body is terrible,” Sophie added.

“What? Are you messing with me? You’re beautiful. You just carried a precious baby, and you’re feeding her. That is astonishing. Most women couldn’t even be bothered to breast feed. You look amazing.”

“I look terrible, like something out a horror movie.”

“I seriously doubt that,” he added sitting on the edge of the bed close to her, longing to reach for her hand to caress it.

“I am.”

“You have just carried a baby.”

“The celebrities manage to get their stick thin bodies back within days,” she growled at him.

“They have help, and trainers, and a diet plan, and no damn life. You were amazing and still are, stop putting yourself down,” he told while staring at her.

His heart melted to the sight of her. He wanted nothing but the best for her. He had no idea how to convince her she was breath-taking and the most amazing woman he had ever come across, but she suffered with self-confidence, which no doubt Rob gave a helping hand at.

He reached to take hold of her hand. Sophie, lifted her head to gaze shyly into his eyes. He watched her swallowing yet they had just spent the night together, okay nothing sexual, but they kept each other warm. She allowed him to take hold of her hand. Calvin wondered what she was thinking about, or if to try and start another argument.

“You haven’t seen the state of me.”
There it is!

“Is that an invitation?” He mocked, lifting his eyebrows when she widened her eyes shocked.

He stood turning the opposite direction, wanting nothing more than to see her body. He clearly could see that she lacked in self-assurance wondering if she thought he could do much better, only not true, she was all he needed.

“I’m sure in a few weeks, you’ll be able to work-out, exercise and diet all you wish, but…” He turned around to face Sophie. “Remember, you have Kacey to think about,” he wished to remind her.

With that Sophie pulled the bedding back and stood to her feet. “Look at me,” she shouted abruptly, waving her arms up and down her body.

All Calvin could see was an oversized nightdress and two leaking patches under her boobies, her hair a little ruffled, the prettiest woman he’d ever clapped his eyes on. He wasn’t stupid he knew she wouldn’t fall for that.

“Looks good to me,” he indicated.

“Calvin, be serious, I look like an old woman. I have a saggy tummy, droopy boobs, and feel like death warmed up.”

“Sophie,” he replied, walking back to her. He reached to take hold of her hands when she turned to sit back on the bed sighing. He sat on the bed beside her, he had to try and shake of all this negativity.

He wrapped his arm around her shoulder, pulling her into him, into a cuddle. He closed his eyes briefly drinking the closeness. He kissed the top of her head. Softly he spoke, “listen, you are remarkable and you look amazing.” The words were on the tip of his tongue.
I love you and want to be with you forever and enjoy your natural body, which produced two special babies.

He closed his eyes, swallowed hard, longing for the words to spill out, only they wouldn’t.  “I don’t wish to hear any more of this talk that you are a horror movie, or that you’re disgusting to look at. Far from it,” he emphasized, keeping her held close, hoping that was enough to stop the silly talk.

With that Sophie burst into tears. He widened his eyes, unsure why she was crying. Suddenly she stood. He followed her needing to give her full reassurance. He took her into his arms. Her face pressed against his chest, feeling her tears while she pressed her leaking boobs onto his chest, but neither was he bothered about. He wrapped his arms securely around her and gently moved his hand up and down her spine.

“Ssh, it’s okay,” he whispered, needing her to release whatever it was troubling her. All he wanted was to be here for her showing her how much she meant to him.

He held her tight whilst floods of tears escaped her eyes. He kissed the top of her head while stoking her hair.

“It’s okay, Sophie,” he said, rubbing the top of her head.

He had no idea what to say. He had no idea what made her feel this way, but then she had been through a rough patch, dumped, robbed, losing everything she owned, attempting to take her life, him, being in intensive care, then waking up to find her daughter in neonatal unit and telling him the truth about their son. He ached for her. He had no idea what she had truly been through, hoping, she would recover and stay strong.

Her future looked promising. Her father was on her side, helping her out, getting her a house, driving lessons helping her to get back on her feet. She really was falling onto her feet, however, needless to say it should have happened years ago, with their child. In fact her the last ten years should never have happened, at all.

Sophie pulled out from his chest and wiped her eyes.

“I need to express,” she grumbled.

He watched her walk passed him picking up her robe on the way putting it on. She left the room without glancing back at him. Gone. He sighed heavily not wishing to think over-time, and come up with the wrong conclusions.

However, he did still need to try and coax her into going out to dinner or tea with him, so he could open his heart up. Only something told him it wouldn’t be easy!

****

She expressed her milk for her tiny bundle, aching like never before throughout her body. She hated the way she looked, yet Calvin, had said the sweetest words, but why? Sophie couldn’t see anything attractive about her. Gosh, she could only imagine what nasty words Rob would’ve come out with. Thankfully, he isn’t here and Calvin was. She wondered if Calvin didn’t mean a damn thing by them, simply just saying the right things trying to make her feel better about herself. Far from it, she felt like a bag of crap, her hair scrapped back into a ponytail, dressed in an oversized nightdress, that made her feel like she wore a tent and a robe, that was larger than the biggest marquee.

She sighed, uncomfortable about doing the expressing near her daughter, where people might see her even if they put a screen around her made her uncomfortable, then the fact Calvin could see. He had seen. She frowned really not happy at all.

She remembered many years ago, she’d been on a double decker bus, heading to work to the wedding boutique. A young woman was on the bus with a small crying baby, people were tutting, moaning at her for the baby disturbing them. The woman was upset as people were saying nasty things, telling her to shut the baby up.

Sophie hadn’t long handled over her son, so she felt great sympathy for the woman, who rocked the baby back and forth, attempting to try and calm her baby down, but the baby needed feeding. With that, she casually lifted her top being discreet, to feed the little one when a woman called out… “You cannot do that in public, it’s disgusting.”

Sophie gazed at the woman staring at her hard, pissed off everyone was moaning and yet what the child needed she couldn’t give. Foul people. Sophie turned to the young mum who looked close to crying. She smiled at her trying to show her she had her support. The woman stopped what she was doing and the baby carried on screaming. Poor woman, she had no idea what to do.

Then she stood up and left the bus. Sophie didn’t wish to experience anything like that. Breast feeding was natural the best source of feed for the baby and people behaving in that manner should be ashamed of themselves. It wasn’t like the woman stood up lifting her top to parade her boobs, she did it discreetly, but then like anything in life you always get that one person to rip you to shreds.

“Here you are,” Calvin voiced. Thankfully Sophie had her body covered preventing him from seeing anything. “Sorry,” he said. She turned around to see him turn in the opposite direction, holding his hand to his eyes. “Sorry, I am so sorry. The nurse said you were in here. I’m heading out to get some breakfast, anything you would like?” he asked her.

Sophie drank him from the back fully clothed and his hair wet, full of swoon.

“No…I’m fine,” she replied.

“You need to eat, Sophie, to keep up your energy for Kacey.”

Like I need to be reminded.

“Okay, surprise me,” she announced not wishing to start an argument.

Calvin left her.

She really wished she should declare her love to him, but right now, she really wasn’t happy with who she was, frumpy, haggard and fed-up of the same walls. Things were starting to look up for her. She loved the house she saw yesterday with her father and Calvin, but still she felt alone. Scared and indecisive to whether she’d be doing the right thing for her or Kacey. Maybe, she should gain the courage to tell Calvin how she felt and take it from there…whether he could move up north was another issue. Nevertheless, his job was in London and it was pointless in even putting him on the spot like that.

He had a separate life to her. Calvin had the rich, glamorous life with women throwing their bodies at him, money like it grew of a tree. She bet his apartment was lovely, but hardly accommodating for a family. Why would he wish to change his bachelor lifestyle for an ugly, single mother who had no direction in life whatsoever?

Thoughts loomed around her head aware that nothing was any good she needed to accept that it was just Kacey and her, they don’t need a male figure in their life. At least no man would have to gaze at her wrinkly body with stretch marks and her body totally out proportion.

She sighed knowing she had to get on with life without Calvin, and when he did pop in from time-to-time she would enjoy his company. And that was the end of that, no more thoughts and no more thinking about how much she loved Calvin.

The only connections they would have would be through their son, and the fact she would always be endeavour to him for saving her life, twice.

Only was it really that simple?
