My eyes were on his the whole time, and I began to see them break wide open for me.  With not only the amount of glee we were feeling together, but I could also see flickers of desire and awe.

His arms gripped me tighter to him, and my heart skipped a beat with how crazy his eyes looked as we sang.  They looked begging, and it shocked me into silence when he continued the next part.  Eyes so beautiful, I saw the love he had for me, how grateful he was for me, and how he craved and desired all of me.  Our fast movements started to die down as our faces started to reveal more and more.

I think there was just a little left of the song, but we never did finish it.  There was no way we could.  Not when Casey took his hand out of mine and wrapped it around my back, his other hand following in a fast motion.  He bent down to hit his lips with mine.

My hands flew up around him and grasped him as hard as I could to him.  My heart had been suffocating me it seemed, and this was my only relief.  It is why my fingers snaked up through the strands of his hair and held him to me tightly.  It was such a wonderful feeling, to have no limits, it pushed us to strive for more.

His body pressed into me, I felt him moan against my mouth.  One of his hands on my back quickly flew up to cup my neck, then my cheek, then eventually gripped my hair like I was doing.  Our lips chained together moved hard and fast.

In response to us going at it like that, my heart began beating rapidly.  This was different than any other time we kissed or touched.  The atmosphere shifted instantly, and it was because this was the first time we had this kind of freedom.  To do whatever and not be able to worry about anything.  We couldn’t hold it in anymore and didn’t need to.

Chapter 44

Lust and love. They were two completely different things. Yet, they could complement each other.  Lust could result in love and love could result in lust.  In our case, it went both ways in a sense.  Well, when it came to what was happening right now then it applied.

Saying his eager lips wouldn’t stop would be an understatement. There was so much force behind the hard and greedy kiss that I knew my jaw would be sore later. It was unlike any other time we kissed.  Sure, there were many times where we needed each other, and it would result in the momentary loss of control.  However, it was nothing like this.

His hand found the back of my neck again, holding me there firmly as our mouths consumed each other.  It was and never would be enough, though.  I knew that would always be the feeling I felt with him.  That I couldn’t get enough of him yet, I would try.  I felt my heart gasping for breath as I wrapped one of my legs around him, needing to be closer to him.

Need, need, needing him.  This wasn’t just wanting him any longer.  I
needed
this man with all I had.  That was all that I was able to process in my mind, and I welcomed that.  My body reacted to every touch, every forceful brush of his tongue, every needy grasp his hand made.

Lips tilted up to meet his, one of my hands that were woven in his hair slid back down to his neck and shoulder.  Over the muscle he possessed, I started to rub my fingers up and down his chest.  I was satisfied to hear a groan vibrate against our lips.  But after it faded, his lips moved away from mine, moving down and gliding over my cheek.  The hand clasping my neck roughly tilted it to the side so his mouth had a larger playing field, which he took advantage of.  When his lips reached my neck, I could feel him slightly nip at the skin there.  His mouth was quick to travel up until I let out a groan when he reached my ear.

That’s when I felt both of his hands grip my hips tightly. Whimpering with how good he was making me feel, the sounds pushed him to do more.  I gripped him in encouragement, my leg around him tightening.  It didn’t take him long to lean down and forward, gripping me to him and making my other leg wrap around him.  I felt him lower me with him until he settled my back on the ground.  Shivers instantly spread over me at the contact of the grass to my back.  He was now leaning over me, and my legs were wrapped around this beautiful man.

His lips moved down to my chest kissing me there.  I gripped his back even tighter, grunting with how wonderful his mouth felt.  I felt both of his cool hands discover my knees and slide up them thanks to the long skirt I was wearing tonight. Eventually gripping my thighs, I groaned and pushed up instinctively closer.

It kept going like that for a long time.  His hands running all over my body and every inch of skin his fingers could find.  I couldn’t stop either. I ran my fingers through his hair, pressed up against him, and kissed his neck, lips, chest, shoulder….  It was such a wonderful moment that felt too good to stop.  However, when my skirt was nearly off and when he was only in his boxers, Casey pulled back and groaned, this time in annoyance at himself.

Opening my eyes and staring up at him, I raised an eyebrow.  It was a shock to my system because I did not expect him to stop. How could I?  The guy was going crazy with need over me, ready to rip everything off in the way.  Now, he was leaning over me with an extremely troubled expression.

“Why did you stop?” I asked, breathing hard.

With the fire going strong, the light allowed me to see his eyes and the amount of resistance he forced through himself.  “I don’t want to stop,” he said, looking over my body with a hungry gaze. “If I don’t stop myself now, though, I won’t stop at all.  And I cannot let that happen.”

With how much I wanted him and craved him, I dared to speak my next words. “Well, why can’t you?” I said in a small voice.  I was scared saying that but the only thing running through my head was that I wanted him - completely.

“It’s not fair to you this way.  It’s not the right time,” he said, body tense.  He forced his eyes to stay on mine and not look anywhere else. I could see his persistence and in a way, it felt almost insulting.

“Why?” I asked.  Did he just not want me like that?  I didn’t understand.

“Because you deserve better than this.  I love you.  And when we have sex, I want it to be loving and sweet.  Not like this.  Not when we can’t control ourselves.”

I swallowed.  I agreed with him about that and knew what he meant once he said that.  Obviously, at the moment, my body had other ideas and desires.  They wouldn’t be strong enough to overcome my love for him.  I wanted my first time to be special, loving and something that I think through.  I know if he didn’t stop us, I wouldn’t have either.

“Thank you,” I said softly.  I wanted to keep going, but I was happy we got our lust for each other out like that.  “Thank you for stopping.”

He nodded, jaw clenching.  It was clear we both wanted to keep going, but we didn’t need to do something like that and end up regretting it. “Like I said, I don’t want to, but I would regret it… So would you,” he said, caressing my cheek with his gentle hand.

Casey gave me a few more long kisses before we stopped and forced ourselves apart.  It really was for the best because I knew if we did that tonight, it wouldn’t have been as special.  It wouldn’t have been as loving with how much lust was starting to take over us.  Most importantly, though, it wouldn’t have felt right either.

He was an amazing and beautiful man.  He deserved to be treated like one.  Not only that, but he was the man of my dreams!  I wanted to make the moment we do it especially wonderful.  I knew that when it happens, whenever that happens, that it will be that way.

Chapter 45

“They are too fast!” he exclaimed in frustration.

I sighed and knew this would be the result: stress and frustration.  It was what happened the first time we did this.  The only thing different was the actual spear.

When Casey was hurt and couldn‘t do much, he made the new spear.  It was made differently and designed so it would be easier to catch fish.  With the knife, he cut the long stick down the middle and stopped half way before it split into two pieces.  He did that many times on just the one end, but never went down enough to make it split.  From there, he spread each shred of wood slightly apart from the main stick.  With the grass and vine, he tied it tightly around where the split wood stopped so it wouldn’t continue to split all the way to the handle.  After that, he sharpened each end and was left with a few sharp spears instead of one.  It looked almost like a fork, which made my stomach that much more anxious right now.

“You need to take your time,” I said, eyeing him as he walked, his movements disrupting the shallow waves that rested just above our kneecaps.

We both took turns every once in a while, waiting for a fish to come around and when one did, we would strike.  We failed every time so far despite having a better chance with a better spear.  It made the retreating fins waving back at us seem smug in their departure.

Casey stopped and bent down, his hand disappearing under the water and coming up with the spear he threw a few seconds ago.  The school of fish he was aiming for was long gone.  Standing back up, I noticed that he was out of breath and frustrated.  We were in the ocean so we could easily cool off, but it didn’t mean we couldn’t get exhausted.

After half a day trying to catch some fish, we wanted it to be done.  However, we also both knew that only eating berries would eventually cause us some problems.  We were feeling sick because the only thing we have been eating on this island was fruit.  It scared me to also realize that every day, those berries on the bushes were disappearing each time we picked them.  We weren’t eating that much and still, food would be scarce if we didn’t learn how to fish.

His face was red with embarrassment and anger.  I couldn’t blame him. “We could always settle for some bark,” he said, ready to give up.

I held my hand out towards him.  “Give me the spear.  You can sit in the water, watch the show, and cool down - your body and temper,” I smirked, holding in a chuckle.

He laid the large handle in my palm, and I gripped the stick.  I watched as he stepped a few feet back.  He sat down in the shallow water, stretching his legs out, and rocking slightly when the waves came.  Propping himself up with his two hands, he nodded, gesturing for me to proceed with a smile.

I rolled my eyes and turned away before he could catch my smile slipping.  My eyes scanned over the blue flatness that stretched on forever.  All there was to do was stand still and wait.  Neither Casey nor I spoke in case the fish could hear.  That’s why throughout the whole day, we barely said anything besides some frustrated busts and whispers.  Not only could I not talk to him, but I was facing out and away from him so I couldn’t even admire his beauty.

Standing there for at least ten or fifteen minutes, as motionless as I could manage, I felt my knotty hair dampen with sweat.  Thankfully, there was a breeze that scraped over my sweaty and bare back. It was nice, the fact that my hair and bra covered my scars yet the breeze still cooled me down a bit.

A few minutes later, I saw something on the bottom that wasn’t sand or rocks.  It was a fish, one that was farther away than I preferred.  I stiffened with a jolt of excitement at seeing it glide towards us.  When I guessed it was only a few yards away, I went for it.  With one hand steady on the handle, I cranked my arm back before I flung the spear at the fish.

My heart jumped as I watched the spear shoot down into the water, right over the fish.  The sand kicked up along the bottom of the shallow water, making it too foggy to see if I hit it.  But as the sand settled, all that remained was the spear and not the fish.

I groaned, knowing and understanding this was a hard task.  I would have thought that I would have gotten used to failure today considering we missed every chance at a fish we got.  It just pissed us off more.

Walking back towards Casey after I picked up the spear, his face showed me the opposite that I was sure mine gave off.  A grin on his features, I narrowed my eyes as I stood before him,  “Why are you grinning?  Are you enjoying my pain?”

He chuckled and shrugged.  “You’re cute when you’re frustrated.  Even though I get angry when I try, I can’t help it,” he teased.

I smirked, shaking my head and turning back around.  I tried hard to continue focusing before another fish comes around.  “I can’t wait until it’s your turn,” I called back to him behind me while keeping my eyes forward, scanning for movement.  “I’ll make sure I’m laughing my ass off, watching you fail to find us food because I’m sure, you think bark and piss are a reasonable diet for us.”

When he didn’t answer, I could feel myself biting my lip, holding in a smile.  I knew he was trying to think of something to say.  “Wow,” he stated.  “And you think not being amused by it will make a huge difference in our crappy aim?  There is nothing else to do other than for me to stare up at your nice ass.”

I blushed, wanting to turn around and face him but I refused to.  I needed to keep my eyes busy, even though we weren’t exactly quiet.  “If you won’t be quiet, there will be more than just a stare going up
your
ass.” I turned around slightly to smirk at him before making a kicking motion, showing him what I meant.  “I’m trying to get us food.”

He put his hands up in surrender before moving them back to prop himself up again, not saying another word.  I turned back towards my task and looked over the clear waters.  Silence filled the ocean breeze for a few minutes as we were both waiting very still.

Through my side vision, I saw a small movement.  There were multiple small dots moving through the water.  Fixing my eyes on it, I saw it was a small school of fish.

This was better than trying to aim and hit one fish.  With a group of fish, we didn’t need to be as accurate.  As long as we throw it and it lands in the general area of the fish, there was a good chance we would get at least one.  With the spear we had, we might even get more than one.

Like before, it was only a few yards away.  I slowly cranked my hand back and took a deep breath, focusing on the spot of fish.  Aiming, with fast movement and muscles, I whipped the spear forward, giving it enough power to land and stick where I wanted.  The pointy thick wooden blades dove out of my sight and into the water, the handle all I could see.  I was too anxious to wait for the sand to clear. I had a good feeling about this one.  I raced towards where my spear landed and grabbed it.

“Dammit!” I growled, scowling at the empty sharp points of the spear.

I stomped back over to Casey.  Though he was still amused, it was clear he was also disappointed.  He wanted to get something just as badly as I did.

“You can’t get upset every time you miss one.  We have been trying all day so it shouldn’t be a surprise.”

I scoffed. “You’re fine one to talk.”

It continued like that for a while in the same pattern and resulting in nothing.  Waiting, sweating, standing still, and then a jump of the heart when I saw a fish come into my view.  Aim, relax, throw, and pray that there would be a fish when the sand cleared.  There never was.

After another throw and miss, I retrieved the spear again.  Groaning with impatience, I walked back to where Casey was sitting, cool in the water where I wanted to be.

I wasn’t sure if we were wasting our time or not but I did know one thing — by the end of today, we wouldn’t be going back to the shelter with a fish.  We have been doing this all day, first him and then me, rotating back and forth.  Now that I tried and failed enough times, it could be Casey’s turn again.  I knew all we were doing was exhausting ourselves.

Walking back to where he was sitting close to shore, I didn’t hand him the spear as he was expecting.  Instead, I threw it back up the few yards to the beach.  I dropped down beside him, letting the water cover my knees and lower body.  I sighed as the water swarmed around my sweaty self.  My hands received relief after clutching that spear for a while.  Stretching my legs out over the sand, I propped myself up with my hands like him.

He looked down to me sitting next to him in the shallow water, his face expressionless as I spoke, “This sucks.”

He nodded.  “Yes, it does.”

“Do you think this is even helping?  Do you think this kind of practice is effective?  Because I don’t think it is working.  I’m no better than I was before.”

He shrugged. “At this point, I don’t think so.  We would be better off just practicing our aim on land.  If we use a tree or something and practice hitting that each time, we won’t have to wait to try our aim on a fish.”

I thought about his words as we shifted and rocked slightly when another wave came.  I decided he was right.  We have done more waiting than practicing and catching.  It would be more efficient to make a target and practice on a tree.  We should know how to fish before we catch one.

“You decided now to tell me this idea, which sounds ten times better?”

He smiled sweetly at me,  “Remember?  I am amused by your frustration so I let you continue with the show.”

I slapped his arm and splashed him, making him laugh.  “I was kidding!” he said, making me smile.  “I just now thought of it.  It sounds so much better.  We can last with the berries while we practice our technique.”  He paused, pursing his lips and thinking something over.  “One of us could use the knife, the other the spear.  We will learn much faster.”

“Sounds like we have it all figured out,” I said with slight sarcasm.

“We do.  So now what do want to do?”

I lowered my eyebrows, confused.  “Well don’t you want to go back and start?”

“That’s what we should do.  Until then,” he said before dipping his head down, his lips connecting softly with mine.  “I have you, this moment, and this nice beach.”

Continuing to kiss me, he then grabbed my thigh and dragged me up his lap, making me wrap my legs around his torso.  My head went from straining up to tilting down to meet his lips. Cupping his cheeks with me in his lap, I smiled against his mouth.

Breaking our lips, he looked up at me and smiled too. “Hi there, beautiful.”

“Hi,” I whispered gently back with a massive grin.

A second later, he surprised me.  The man swiftly shifted his hips and legs, turning them over and me with them.  I squealed in delight and surprise as my back, secure by his hands, now hit the shallow water.  With gravity’s assistance, my legs fell to the water.  Now, I was lying flat in the sand and water, my body devoured by the salt water, all except for my head and chest.  His hand propped his body up over me so he wouldn’t press all his weight on me.  Casey’s other strong hand gripped my back, holding me up slightly.

His smile spread to a loud laugh at my shocked reaction.  I was completely soaked now, my hair floating in the water while my face was held up and just below his.  I laughed with him, the water guiding over him as well when a big wave came through the shallow water. My hands never moved from his back, and I could feel the water drops landing over us.  As it did, he gave me a couple of pecks across my mouth.

“We need to go back and practice.  You are distracting us,” I smiled, chuckling.

He leaned down against my lips, his voice tickling my nerves,  “I think you like it, Miss Reeves.”

“No, I don’t think so.”

“Well, is there anything that I can do to change your mind?” he asked.

When I didn’t answer, he just scoffed before kissing me again, his mouth warm and smooth and slow on mine.  It was enticing to me, and he knew it!

“Stop!” I laughed.  “We need to get to work.”

He sighed. “I know.  Just…” He pressed his mouth against mine softly again, our laughter vibrating against our lips.  He broke the kiss this time with a groan, moving off me.  “You're right, we need to get back.”

I nodded, knowing we needed to get to work.  Sighing, I grasped his hand with my free one, and he pulled me up.  It was essential we get to work.  Neither of us wanted to admit it, but we aren’t prepared for when the berries run out.  If we can’t fish by then, it will be much harder to find food.
