oday we continue to search for practical applications from the book of Ruth. Read the book again, this time paying special attention to the “coincidences” that take place. These may be positive or negative, but look closely. Sometimes we read Scripture in retrospect, knowing how everything turns out, and we overlook the significance of certain events. Put yourself in the place of the characters facing their circumstances as they occur. You should see clearly how God was at work in the “luck”—good or bad—of Ruth, Naomi, and Boaz. Then, as an exercise in Application, determine how the same things might be true in your own life.
