I’d like to dedicate this book to all the men, women, and children who have bravely battled cancer. To those of us who have stood by our loved ones and fought alongside them. And to those of us that struggle to live life without the loved ones we’ve lost.

I
look myself over in the full-length mirror, taking in my black tux with a white dress shirt underneath and lavender silk tie
.
Brushing my hand down my shirt to ensure it’s wrinkle free, I expect a slight shake to my hand or a tightening in my stomach, but it never comes. I’m more relaxed and happier than I remember ever being. A knock on the door draws my attention. I hear the beep from the key card being swiped, then the door opens and Kyle, Paul, and Angel come strutting in, all dressed in their matching tuxes.

“Ready to get that ball and chain slapped on you?” Angel asks as he claps me on the shoulder.

“Looking forward to it,” I tell him and punch him in the arm. Paul holds up a bottle of Jack and Kyle produces four shot glasses. I laugh.

“Are y’all trying to get me drunk so you can kidnap me?” I joke.

“Good idea. We didn’t think of that,” Kyle says as we all take a seat around the small table in the corner of the hotel suite.

The guys and I have been staying in this three-bedroom suite for the past week. The place is amazing and about the size of my house with a huge balcony overlooking the beach. My bride-to-be and her bridesmaids have been sharing another one on the other end of the hotel. We wanted to have the wedding somewhere beautiful. We also thought it would be fun to make it one big vacation for us and our friends. Surprisingly, Angel came up with the idea for this place in Aruba and we both fell in love when we viewed the hotel’s webpage.

“So, have you seen your blushing bride yet today?” Paul asks as he pours us all a shot. I shake my head no.

“Not since after dinner last night. She said it was tradition for the bride and groom to be apart the night before the wedding,” I told them. After we finished last night off with a great dinner, some...okay, lots of drinks, and bumping and grinding on the dance floor, the only thing I wanted to do was get my woman into bed, so when she told me we wouldn’t be sharing a bed, I was a little shocked and a lot disappointed. But seeing how happy it made her had me sucking it up and keeping my mouth closed.
