Molli shook her head and reached for a cigarette.  “Nobody is ‘just’ anything.  So Tony’s not ‘just’ a drug dealer.  He’s somebody’s son, and he’s probably going to be somebody’s father someday.  And I find it funny that you’re so concerned that Tory is going to get all wrapped up in Tony and that’s he’s going to break her heart.  She was sure as hell wrapped up in you and I know that you broke her heart.  But you didn’t seem too concerned about that when you were trying to get my panties off did you?”

“I didn’t want to hurt her.  I just wanted to be with you more than I ever wanted to be with her.  I had to know that I had a chance with you before I started flirting with you.”

“Uh huh.  You never said a word to me the whole time I’ve been hanging out with Seneca before this summer.  You heard that I wanted to go out with Ricky like everyone else did and was really disappointed when he asked Mellenda out instead of me.  Boy, did she shove it in my face when he asked her out.  You thought that I’d be so lonely and heartbroken that I wouldn’t care if you’d really broken up with Tory or not.  And of course everyone in town knew that I wasn’t a virgin when I came to Crestview, so you were sure that you wouldn’t have the same problem with me that you’d had with Tory.  Maybe I don’t want to have sex with you again Jude.  Not when you come back and not ever.”

“None of that is true Molli.  Well, yeah, I did hear that you’d wanted to go out with Ricky and were pretty upset when he didn’t ask you out.  Maybe I thought that I’d have a better chance with you with him out of the picture, but I really did always like you.  The first time I saw you, I thought that you were one of the hottest girls I’d ever seen.  And I knew that you weren’t a virgin, but I didn’t think that that meant you were automatically going to do it with me.  Please don’t be in a bad mood.  I promise I won’t talk about Tory anymore.”

Molli sighed as she leaned over and put out her cigarette.  “I’ll try not to be, but I’m not making any promises.”

“Thank you.  I’ll bring you another soda and fries too, and you can smoke all of my cigarettes that you want while I’m gone.”

“I wish I’d never started.”

“Yeah.  It just seems so right to have a cigarette after sex you know?”

Molli laughed.  “Don’t tell me that you had your first cigarette after you lost your virginity.”

“I did actually, but I didn’t start smoking again until after I turned eighteen.”  Jude leaned over and kissed her.  “I’ll see you in a bit.  If I can’t find a movie I think you’ll like, I’ll call you and you can tell me what sounds good.”

“Okay.”

She was half asleep when Jude returned forty-five minutes later with one bag from the video store and one from a fast food restaurant.  He handed her the bags.  “I’ll be right back.  I have to get the drinks.  I’m sorry that it took so long but I had to stop by my house and borrow the DVD player from my sisters’ room so we’d have something to watch the movies on.”

Molli laughed.  “Duh, I forgot that there wasn’t a DVD player here.  I guess I was too stoned to remember.”

Jude chuckled as he walked out the door.  He soon came back with the DVD player and their drinks.  She took a sip of her soda and then her milkshake, which was already melting.  Jude hooked the DVD player up and then started the first movie.  They ate and then smoked another joint.  Molli thought that the movie was really stupid, but it seemed funny when she was stoned.  She thought that she laughed almost as much as Jude, who she thought would have laughed just as hard if he wasn’t stoned.

They had sex again and took a shower together.  The hot water didn’t run out quite as fast and they both managed to get clean.  They watched the other movie and went to sleep.

The next morning, Molli woke up with Jude’s hand between her legs.  She moved his hand.  “Good morning to you too.  How long has your hand been there?”

“I just barely put it there I swear.  It’s not like I was gonna do anything really dirty to you while you were asleep.”

Molli rolled her eyes.  “Sure.  Do you really want to do it again before we leave?  It’s not like we’re not going to see each other next weekend or the week after.”

“But it’s so much better to do it in a real bed.  I get tired of doing it in my truck or out in the woods.”

“Yeah, me too.  I don’t know if I really want to do it.  You can get burnt out on sex.”

“Not if you’re a guy.  And I thought you liked sex.”

“I do like sex.  I just don’t think that you should have it all the time just because you can, or there’s nothing else to do.  I like the idea of feeling so passionate that you can hardly wait to do it.”

“I think you’ve been reading too many romance novels.”

“I don’t like to read books.  It’s too hard for me to be really enjoyable.”

“You’ve been watching too many chick flicks then.”

“I don’t like those either.  They depress me because I don’t know if I’ll ever find a love like that or if they even exist.”

“I love you Molli.”

“Not like the guys love the girls in those movies.  I don’t think it’s possible for a teenage guy in this day and age to love a girl like that.”

“So why do you care?  You’ll get married someday and I’m sure your husband will love you like that.  Don’t you ever wanna do it without thinking about all of that?”

“Of course I do, but that gets tiring sometimes too.  I am a horny teenager, but I don’t think that means that I can’t have some kind of passion in my life.  Let’s smoke the last joint and then make out for a while.  Maybe then I’ll feel passionate enough or horny enough to have sex.”

“Okay.”

They smoked the joint and had been making out for several minutes when Jude moved his hand back between her legs.  She slapped his hand when he tried to move it into her panties.

He sat up and gave her a dirty look.  “What the hell did you do that for?”

“I told you I don’t like it when you do that.  I can’t blame Tory for not wanting you to do that to her when she didn’t want to have sex.”

“I like it when you touch me.”

Molli sighed.  “Of course you do, but I don’t like the way that you do it okay?  I can’t explain it to you, and I’m not going to show you how I liked to be touched down there either.  I’m not going to touch myself like that.”

“Why not?  Girls touch themselves all the time.  And if you showed me, I’d do better next time.  I like to touch you.”

“I’m okay with telling you some things I do and don’t like when we mess around, but not that.  There’s a certain thing that I like and if a guy doesn’t do it when he’s touching me down there, I don’t like it.  And no, I’m not going to tell you who I was with that made me like something like that either.  You were doing just fine at turning me on until you started with that.”

“Can I touch you on the outside of your panties?”

“Yeah.  But if you try to put your hand inside my panties again I’ll hit you even harder.”

Jude sighed.  “Okay.”

“And don’t put your tongue in my ear again either.  That grosses me out.”

“I thought it turned you on.”

“Must have been your other girlfriend.”

“Can I still touch your boobs?”

“Yes, but don’t pinch my nipples.  You must have been with a girl that liked to get kinky.”

“Sort of.  You must have been with a guy who was kinky too.”

“He was. . .  I’m not going to try to explain him to you.”

Jude laughed.  “Okay.”

Molli thought that Jude was much better at foreplay when she told him what she didn’t like.  She was thoroughly turned on by the time they had sex, and thought that there might still be hope for their relationship, at least until they graduated.

They took separate showers and then got dressed.  Jude disconnected the DVD player.  She took it with her when she went to wait for him in his truck while he checked out of the motel.  He took her out to breakfast and then dropped her off on the road back to Crestview.  When he kissed her goodbye he did something with his tongue that she’d never liked, but she decided not to tell him.  She figured that he could only take so many blows to his ego in one day.

Chapter 3

Molli stayed busy with homework during the next week and spent Friday night watching a movie in the commons area with a bunch of other girls.  It was pretty fun and she thought that not all of the girls at Crestview were bitches-at least not all the time.

Saturday morning she headed out to meet Seneca.  She was spending the night at her house and was really looking forward to it, since sometimes being cooped up at Crestview drove her crazy.

When Molli got out to the road in front of the school, she saw Grant’s car with Seneca behind the wheel.  Molli opened the passenger side door of the car and got in the car.  “He finally let you drive his baby huh?”

Seneca laughed as she pulled back out onto the road.  “He was too involved in playing one of Rain’s video games to drag his butt away from the TV.”

“Men.  Is Jude home?  I’m not in the mood to deal with him.”

“Nah, he wasn’t there when I left.  Did your big night with him in the motel room not go well?”

“Ugh.  I’ll tell you about it in a while.  I’m not in the mood to think about Jude right now, let alone talk about him.  How come I can’t find a guy like Grant?  I don’t care if he’s addicted to video games.   I want to be with someone that likes me for me and doesn’t care whether or not I have sex with them.  I like sex, but I want a relationship that’s about more than getting my panties off you know?”

“Yeah.  Um Mol?”

“Yeah Sen?”

“I did it with Grant last night.”

“You did not.  You were always the one that said you were going to wait until you were at least eighteen to have sex.  I thought you kept him satisfied by doing everything besides the actual dirty deed.”

Seneca got a dreamy look in her eyes as she pulled into the trailer park.  “It wasn’t dirty.  It was beautiful, even if we did do it in the backseat of his car.”

Molli looked at her friend.  “Damn girl.  How did he finally convince you to do it?  I believe fully that Grant loves you Sen, but he is a man.”

Seneca laughed.  “He didn’t convince me to do it.  I wanted to do it.  He did this thing to me and yeah, you probably don’t want to hear about that.  You’re my best friend in the whole world, but sometimes you just gotta say TMI.”

Molli laughed.  “Yep.  Well, congratulations fellow non virgin.  I can’t believe your parents aren’t home and he’s still in your brother’s bedroom playing video games.  You must have really satisfied him last night.”

Seneca grinned.  “We already did it today.  Right after my parents left with Rain.”

“He’d better watch out.  You are gonna go from a virgin to a sex addict in no time at all.  I can see it in your eyes.”

Seneca’s smile didn’t fade.   “I know.  I wanna do it again and again.”

Molli laughed.  “The luster fades unless you’re with someone who really knows how to do it right.”

“Oh, Grant knows how to do it right.”

They had reached the back door which was Seneca’s usual choice of entry into her house.  Grant was outside at the picnic table smoking a cigarette.  He looked at Seneca.  “Grant knows how to do what right?”

Seneca giggled.  “You know.”

Grant blushed.  “Thanks.  I shoulda known you’d tell Molli first thing.  Girls tell each other everything.”

Seneca kissed him.  “Why shouldn’t I have told her?  She’s my best friend.  And it’s not like I’m ashamed of what we did.  I love you.”

“I love you too, babe.”  He put his cigarette out and kissed Seneca again.  Molli was sure that she saw tongues flying from both ends.

She cleared her throat.  “Are you two sure you don’t want to be alone?”

Seneca laughed.  “We have years ahead of us to have sex.  Grant told my dad that he wants to marry me after we graduate.  Isn’t that so romantic Molli?”

Molli laughed.  “He probably told your dad that so he wouldn’t be so pissed off if he found out you two were having sex.”

Grant gave her a dirty look.  “I did not.  I do want to marry her.”  He squeezed Seneca’s hand.

Molli rolled her eyes.  “I know you do.  I was teasing.  If I didn’t think you planned on staying in her life, I would have kicked your ass when she told me that you deflowered her.”

Grant rolled his own eyes.  “That is such a weird way to put it.”

“I figured it was nicer to say it that way.  Hey, where did you get the cigarettes?  You are so not old enough to smoke.”

Grant laughed.  “I know.  You want one?”

“Yeah.  Jude got me addicted.  Or I got addicted when he started offering me cigarettes.  Of course, he complains now that I smoke too many of his cigarettes.  Like he doesn’t owe me a bunch of money as it is.  Do not let yourself get even a little addicted to these things Grant.”

Grant handed Molli a cigarette and a lighter.  “I really wanted one after me and Sen um. . . Yeah.  I made a friend of mine that’s a senior buy me a pack, but they’re too expensive so I’m not going to buy another one.”

“Good idea.”

“So Molli,” Seneca said.  “You were going to tell me about your night with Jude weren’t you?”

Molli sighed.  “Yeah.”  She glanced across the street and saw that his truck was still gone from the driveway.  “He made me pay for the room, he told me that he was going to pay for lunch and then he made me split it, and then he had the gall to pay $5 extra to watch porn with my money.  Then he borrowed even more money from me.  I think he’s going to owe me hundreds of dollars if we stay together until I graduate.”

“Quit giving him money Mol.  He delivers papers every morning.  You know that he makes money doing that.”

“His parents always seem to need help with the bills and his truck is really bad on gas since it’s so old.”

Seneca rolled her eyes and leaned back against Grant.  “He is such a liar.  Rain hangs out with Jacob sometimes and from what I understand, his parents are doing pretty well right now.  Their house is almost paid off and they owed back rent on it for a while.  I even heard that his dad has cut way down on his drinking and that must save them quite a bit of money.  He was putting away a twelve pack of beer or more a day for a while and then sometimes drinking hard stuff on top of it.  Jude is playing you girl.  He’s playing you all around.  Dump his ass.  Make your parents change your phone number so Eduardo can’t call you anymore.  It’s not like he’d be dumb enough to show up at Crestview looking for you.”

“I don’t know if my parents would be willing to change my number.  It probably costs money and they don’t like to spend any extra.  I’d have to explain to them why I wanted my number changed anyway, or they really wouldn’t do it.”

“Tell them that some creep got a hold of your number and won’t stop calling you.  It’s a partial truth at least.”

“I don’t know Sen.  What did you mean when you said Jude’s playing me all around?”

Molli saw Grant’s hands tighten around Seneca’s waist.  “I thought you already told her about that Sen.”

Seneca sighed.  “No.  Look Mol, you knew what kind of guy Jude was when you hooked up with him.  He takes the fact that he’s cute and has a car and uses it to get what he wants from girls.  Why should it change because he’s with you instead of Tory?  Yeah, you’re probably prettier than she is, and you put out, but a player is gonna be a player until he decides otherwise no matter who he’s with and what she does for him.”

“I didn’t know what Jude was about when I hooked up with him.  I didn’t know he was with Tory.  He told me he broke up with her.  Do you know something I don’t Sen?  Is he cheating on me?  And if he is, why didn’t you tell me before?”

“I don’t know for a fact that he’s cheating on you hon, but I do know that he came on to me right after Grant and I hooked up so it wasn’t too long after him and Tory split and he officially became your man.”

“What the hell Seneca?  Why didn’t you tell me about this before?  I would have kicked his ass for you.”

“I know you would have girl.  I didn’t want to tell anyone at first.  It took me two weeks to tell Grant about it.  I think he was drunk and he seemed really embarrassed about the whole thing afterwards.  He apologized to me the next day.”

“So what?  And how was he drinking?”

“The rest of his family was gone.  He must have helped himself to some of his dad’s booze.  My parents were gone with Rain again.  I was outside hanging laundry and I was wearing that skirt, you know, that one that you always tell me makes me look like a hoe.  He came in the gate and put his hand up my skirt and told me that he’d always thought we should get to know each other better.”

“Seriously Seneca?  I can’t believe that shit.  You know I was teasing you when I told you that skirt made you look like a hoe.  I’m going to wait until he gets home and then I am going to go over there and kick his ass.  I don’t care who’s watching.”

“C’mon Mol.  I waited so long to tell Grant because I knew that he’d want to kick his ass.  I can’t let you kick his ass either.”

“I can’t believe Grant didn’t kick his ass even after two weeks.”

Grant sighed.  “It would have looked kind of dumb to go over there and say ‘hey dude I’m kicking your ass for something that you did to my girlfriend two weeks ago that you seem to feel sorry about’.”

“He wasn’t sorry.  He’s an asshole.  And I’m going to tell him so when I talk to him again.  He’s probably out with some other girl right now.  I am such an idiot.”

“I’m sorry Molli.  I really do think he likes you.  And I don’t know that he’s cheating on you for sure hon.  Jude’s been flirting with me since I got boobs.”

“Sen, you’re driving me crazy.  First you tell me that I knew what kind of guy he was and now you’re telling me that you think he really cares about me?  Which is it?  I sure as hell don’t know anymore.”

“I always kinda thought that you didn’t really care what Jude did.  It’s not like you’re planning on marrying him.  Didn’t you always tell me that you were going to break up with him after you graduated anyway?  I thought that Jude was a guy that kept you company when you wanted it, and screwed you when you wanted it.  I guess you guys probably say I love you, but I never thought you really meant it.”

Molli sighed.  “We do and I don’t.  You’re right about everything.  It pisses me off that he has to do things in public.  I am his girlfriend and I don’t want it to go around that I’m some moron that lets her man sleep with any girl that he wants to.  He still wants Tory bad.  Oh, I have to tell you this story.  It’s so funny.”

“Okay.”

“We were at the motel.  Jude had porn on and it was driving me crazy.  I was not in the mood to do it at all.  I decided that maybe if I was stoned, I might be able to at least tolerate the porn.  He said he didn’t have any weed so I asked him to go over to Tony’s and get some.  He said he
didn’t want to go because he figured that Tory was over there and you know that it’s going around that she’s getting down and dirty with Tony.  Well, I didn’t want to go either, because I ran into Tory that morning and we had a little argument and talked some shit again.  I didn’t think she’d be in the mood to see me either.  Jude ending up calling Brendan and making him go buy the weed.  When he came back he was laughing so hard.”

Seneca smiled.  “What was so funny?”

Molli laughed.  “Jude didn’t think it was funny at all.  Have you guys ever gone to a party at Tony’s house?”  They both shook their heads.  “I have and his bed is notoriously squeaky.  If he’s in his bedroom with someone, you can hear it in the living room even if the music is blasting.  Brendan said that he knocked on Tony’s door for five minutes before anyone answered.  When Tony finally did, he came out without a shirt on.  Brendan said that he heard Tony talking to his cousin Carl and asking him why he didn’t answer the door since he was right there in the living room.  Carl said that his music was on loud in his headphones because he’d gotten tired of listening to Tony and Tory have sex.  Jude was pissed.”

“That is hilarious Mol.  I would so love to see Tony without a shirt on.”

Grant gave her a dirty look.  “You can see me without mine on all you want.”

“You know I love you baby, but you don’t quite have the body that Tony does.”

Molli thought that it was time to step back into the conversation.  “Brendan said that he heard the bedsprings squeaking from the front porch.”

Even Grant laughed at that.  “Yeah, okay, so that is pretty funny.  Quit daydreaming about Tony without a shirt on Sen.”

Seneca turned and gave Grant her best innocent look.  “I promise I’m not baby.”  But she winked at Molli when she turned back to her.

Molli hid a laugh.  “I’m tempted to call Jude and catch him with someone else.”

Seneca shrugged.  “He probably won’t answer the phone if he is.  But it was going around school on Thursday and Friday that he has something special planned for you tonight, so maybe he’s getting ready for that.”

“He’s supposed to be planning something special for me?  Hmm.  Maybe if it’s good enough I won’t break up with him or kick his ass.  I really wish he’d pay me back at least some of the money he owes me though.”

“He was bragging to everyone that you’d want to marry him after tonight wasn’t he Grant?”

“You know I don’t listen to gossip Sen.”

Seneca rolled her eyes.  “You do too.  You just don’t want to admit it.  You think it takes away from your manliness if you listen to gossip.”  She turned and gave him a long kiss.  “I’ll always think you’re manly Grant, even if you do something that’s supposed to be really unmanly like cry.”
