When the storm hit, I was sleeping. I remember my father shaking me until I woke. “Come on, son, we must go.”

I looked around peering through the heavy rain and wind that had taken over the calm sea that I had fallen asleep to. I saw my mother. Her face looked scared. I think she was crying, but, with all the rain that was blowing around, it was hard to tell the tears from the water.

All of a sudden there was a crack, and my father and I were on one side of it, and my mother was on the other. I saw the fear in her eyes, and she reached out to my father, his hand outstretched. But, the sea was angrily pulling the ship apart. In a split second, the other half of the boat was covered in water. And then the boat was completely swallowed. The people with it. Somehow, our part of the ship was still floating. My father screamed to me, “Stay here.” I didn’t realize what he meant. He dove into the hungry ocean, the waves eating him whole. I waited for his head to reappear, and waited. I was sure he was gone. Then, his head popped above for a second. I saw him take a breath, and then, back under. I waited. Why wasn’t anyone else doing anything? I searched the water looking for my father and my mother, but nothing. And then, just as quickly as the storm had come, the sun was back out. I searched again, and saw my father’s head pop back up above the water. I breathed a sigh of relief. He was swimming back towards our half of the ship, dragging something behind him. I knew from the clothes, it was my mother. I also knew that she was probably already dead. I think that’s where my anger comes from. I remember how angry I felt that God could take my mother from me. It hardened me.

The ship that eventually saved us came just in the nick of time. If it had been a little bit longer, the night sky and ocean would have swallowed us whole. By the end, my father and I were holding onto a piece of the ship, our half having long since sank.

“Evens, it’s going to be a little bit late getting there.” He was speaking in Creole. It was still what I felt most comfortable with.

“You told me last time that this wasn’t going to happen again.”

“You want to come and deal with it then?”

“You know it’s more important that I’m here.”

“Either that or you just don’t want to get your hands dirty,” he knew how to make me angry.

He was right about that part. I didn’t see the need for that bullshit. Just takes away from the business. See if you spend all your time banging, then it’s bound to come back at you. I keep on trying to tell Junior that, but, he came up a different way. Don’t get me wrong, I can knock a nigga out if need be. But, I don’t think it needs to go that way every single time.

After my mom died, my dad changed. He was always a kind and loving man before that. But, that experience toughened him. He poured his life into making money, hustling. And for that, I’m thankful. It’s allowed me to have a good life. He paid for me to go to school, and give me the opportunity to live in the U.S. “Go, make me proud up there, Evens.” I knew he had ulterior motives in sending me to the U.S. It wasn’t just for me to get an education. He was grooming me to take over the business one day. And, the more I knew about the business side, the better. That’s why I went to school for what I did. And being in Atlanta, was a good spot for me to be for my dad to expand the operation.

It was in my freshman year that I met Emmanuel. That nigga’s hard as shit. He’s taught me a thing or two. I wasn’t very confident, in a new country, and having an accent most people couldn’t understand. We were both rushing the same fraternity, and we connected right away over the fact that we were both originally from Haiti. At first, I thought he was bullshitting me, because his accent was nearly gone. His family made it out after the big earthquake down there. He grew up in Cite Soleil, the largest slum in Port au Prince, so, he had to be tough, or he wouldn’t have made it.

While we were pledging, we were at this one party. There was this fine little thing that I was working on, and in the background, I could see Emmanuel getting worked up. I tried to keep the conversation going, but, with Emmanuel in the background starting to get up in some niggas face, it was hard to keep my concentration. All of a sudden, there were a whole crew of guys surrounding Emmanuel. “Excuse me,” I said, and ran with my fists balled up, ready to fight.

By the time I got there, punches were flying, I just started hitting anything that I could. I swung at some guy coming at me and connected.  I saw blood fly and then got hit from behind by some punk ass. Before I knew it, two of our big brothers were getting involved and we all were swinging. We stomped those motherfuckers. I looked over at Emmanuel, “Fuck nigga!!” He just smiled his charming smile and said “I’m proud of you.” Justin patted me on the shoulder and said “Y’all got some big balls. Fucking loyal, bro.” Needless to say, both Manny and I got some pussy that night.

“Evens you still there?” Junior asked.

“No real names. I’ve told you.”

Now, I was gonna have to deal with my distributors. They were gonna be pissed. Second time in a row. It’s no way to run a business, but, they’d deal. In fact, since the demand would be up due to the limited supply, I’m sure I could persuade them that it was actually good for business. When word gets out that there’s some new shit out there, those fuckin’ dope fiends will be knocking down the door. They’ll be able to charge double compared to that weak ass product that’s out there right now. Probably been cut so many times there ain’t nothing left to get high on.

Emmanuel

I woke up to my balls in some redbone chick’s mouth. I looked down to see her full mouthed smile. “Damn girl,” I said still mostly asleep from the marathon session we had the night before. She had the kung-fu grip going on my shaft, stroking up and down at a pretty quick pace. She alternated from ball to ball, and started working down to my taint. “Whoa, easy girl.”

“You don’t wanna get rimmed?”

“Stick to the dick, girl. Balls are okay too.”

She kept on working my cock, putting her mouth on the head, and deepthroating the shit out of my 9 inch dick. “Fuck!!” I moaned. She was good. Her eyes looked up at me, and I was trying to remember what the fuck her name was. Red, I’ll just call her Red. I leaned back and let the sensation of her working my cock take over. I whispered that I was going to come if she didn’t stop. She either didn’t hear me or didn’t give a fuck ‘cuz she only sped up. I came hard in her mouth, she took every drop. And I slipped back under for a moment.

I heard my phone ring and reached over to my MEK jeans on the floor next to the bed. It was Evens.

“What up, nigga?”

He told me that the shipment was going to be late. Fuck. How was I going to explain this to all the dealers?  “Late? What the fuck?”

Evens told me how we could use this to our benefit, but we were going to have to sell it to the distributers. “Hold on one second,” I turned to Red, “I’m not a fucking cow, chill.” She was still milking that shit.

Evens told me that we needed to meet later that day to work out the details. I hung up the phone.

“Baby, we’re gonna have so much fun today.”

“Oh yeah? What you got planned?”
“You’re gonna take me shopping, and I’m gonna pick out something that’ll make you cum in your pants.”

I didn’t say anything to that. Bitch thought she was gonna get her hands on my hard earned money? Hell no.

I put on my clothes and got out quick. “Peace, Red.”

Dominica

We rolled into Atlanta late at night. It was so hot in comparison to the D. we hadn't planned on getting into Atlanta until the next day, but with Tamika driving always got to places early. “what should we do tonight, girl? “

“Let’s go find some men.”

“Where do you suggest we do that it?”

“There’s a little place down the way called Morehouse. Ever heard of it?”
For those of you that don't know, Morehouse is an all-male university. That shit had me scared. I know that Tamika has been around before, but, I’m still a virgin. I could only think of what my mother would have said.

“I don’t know T.”

“Come on, when have I ever steered you wrong?”

“You wanna get into that, girl?”
There were far too many opportunities to count. Tamika was always getting me into trouble. She’d humiliate me in front of guys all the time. Not that she meant to you. But if there was a fine looking guy around, she would always make it a point to push me in his direction. I guess it was a good thing, but definitely affected my confidence. Because I’m a big girl, there’s a lot of playas out there that don’t want anything to do with me. On top of that, being a virgin usually scares off the rest of them. I remember this one time that we were at some party and there was a fine, fine man across the room. I was staring forever at him. T went out of her way to make sure that this man knew that I was interested. T went over to him. He smiled at her, and they started talking. She pointed in my direction and I heard him yell “that fat ho, oh hell no.” he started laughing and walked away before T could smack some sense into him.

T started poking any prodding me with her finger, “Come on, girl. You got this.”

“Okay, but if I ain’t feeling it, we’re leaving.”

“Fine,” Tamika said with a smile.

Tamika pulled out her phone and asked Siri to tell us how to get to Morehouse. We drove around until we found it. Then we parked the car.

“Remember where we parked,” I said. I’m horrible with directions.

We walked around campus. It was absolutely beautiful with old buildings everywhere. And there were fine gentleman everywhere too. I watched the guys we passed as they stared up at down at Tamika. She was hot, and everyone knew it. We walked around, trying to make conversation. Finally, met some guys who knew of a party. I looked at Tamika, and she looked at me. I knew she was looking at me to see if I was down. I shook my head silently.

The guys took us to a party over on Greek row. Both of the guys seemed to be giving Tamika a lot of attention. But I wasn't getting any love. As soon as we got into the party, both the guys ran over to the keg to get Tamika a beer. When they left, Tamika turn me "let's ditch these guys.”

We dashed through the crowd looking around at all the fine men in our midst. There was a bunch of fake ass bitches that were staring me up and down as I walked through the house. Then, I saw this super hot man leaning against the wall. He had shoulder length dreads and was wearing some retro Jordan’s. He saw me looking, and my heart melt immediately. I smiled, and he smiled back at me.
“I think he likes what he sees.”

“T, not this again.”

“Let me talk to him for you.”

“Hell no,” I said and I walked in the other direction.

Evens

After my meeting with Emanuelle, I went back to my townhouse. It wasn’t nothing too special. It was something I bought after I moved off campus. I remembered that there was a party later that night at my old fraternity house. With school about to start back up, it would be a good opportunity to scout this years crop of ladies. I texted Manny letting know where I’d be, if he wanted to meet up with me later.

When I got to the party, there was hot bitches everywhere. I’ve been to these parties since my freshman year, and there’s never a shortage of fine ladies. But, I’ve been burned too many times. I started to think that maybe I should just go home, when I saw this beautiful young girl walking right towards me. She was staring, and I started staring back. Her and her friend started talking but, I couldn’t hear what they was saying. All of a sudden, she was gone, and her friend was gesturing to me in some kind of way. I think she was trying to let me know to not move. So, I stayed there making sure the wall didn’t fall over.

It was a full half hour before I saw her again. Her ass thighs and tits made my dick hard. I wanted her right then, but, she just walked right back past me without even looking at me this time. Her friend ran up to me and said “give me your phone.”

I was surprised and nothing came out of my mouth.

“Duh, do you speak English.”

I started speaking French, and her eyes just about fell out of her head.

“I’m sorry. I…”

I answered back, “Yes, I speak English, what do you need my phone for?” I reached into my pocket.

“To give you my friend’s number,” she reached for my phone and put in the number, then gave it back to me “Don’t play her.” Then she walked out the door.

Just then I looked over and saw Manny walking towards me. “What’s going on?”

“Chillin’. Man, you shoulda seen this bitch that just walked out the door. She was super fine. I tried to get her to come back in, but, she was not havin’ it.”
