“Temptress,” he whispered into my ear. He was so close, I could feel his breath as it traced my neck up to my ear and I felt myself start to whimper. I was already rubbing my thighs together to stifle the ache. My whole body was responding to the breath coming from his lips. I felt my senses start to reel further when I took in his scented skin. I had never seen him dressed so impeccably well and it was a major turn on that surprised me.

“Seth,” I begged. I always begged.

“What, baby?”

“How does this end?” His attention went from inches away from my neck to an inch from my lips.

“End, baby?”

“Yeah.” I couldn’t think of anything else to say. My mind was in a fog. I felt the throbbing in every inch of me. Still, he lingered over my face, eyes deadlocked with mine. I was losing it.

He continued to toy with me until I could no longer hold it together. Instead of giving him what he wanted, I decided it was time to play hard ball. I ducked under his arm and started to walk away.

“Where are you going?”

“To get a drink.” I made it all of two steps before he had me against the wall again, a smug smile on his face, and his hands flat against the wall. I reached down and lifted my dress, touched myself, then pulled my fingers out, and rubbed it on his lips and ducked again, walking away quickly through the door, straight to the bar to order my next drink. That ought to teach him. I took my first sip when I looked up to see him next to me, agitation on his face.

“Why did you do that?”

“Do I taste good baby?” I mocked the way he was talking to me in the hall and he grabbed the drink from my hand setting it down on the bar.

“I wasn’t done with you.”

“Well, too bad. I know you get off on having me helpless and that’s great, most of the time, Seth. But I need to know I’m not the only one.”

“Are you fucking kidding me?”

He grabbed my hand and threw a twenty on the bar to cover my drink. He walked me down to the elevator, fuming, and pushed the down button.

“I’m not ready to leave, Seth. I haven’t seen Dave in a long time. I’m sorry if you’re mad. I didn’t mean to ruin tonight. Can we please go back in?”

“You didn’t ruing anything, baby.”

“Then why are we leaving?”

“We aren’t.”

The elevator dinged and he stood on the opposite side, pushing floor two. He stayed on the opposite side of the elevator and I waited patiently for whatever the hell was coming next. I was getting more irritated with the agitation between my thighs with each breath that I took. By the time he took me down the hall to the hotel room I assumed he got for us, I was furious.

“I am not a play toy!”

He didn’t say a word as he slipped the key in the door and walked us inside. I saw him undo his tie and take his shoes off.

“It’s ruined. There’s no reason for you to keep going.”

He walked toward me with his vest on and clamped his mouth on mine. I fought him and turned on my heel toward the door. He pressed me up against it from behind and whispered in my ear.

“Stop, baby. You’re mad at me and I know why. Do you?”

“Yes, you are such a bastard!”

He wrapped both arms around my waist and stilled me.

“Laura, it’s not just you. Weren’t you listening to me?” He slid down my panties, dragging them over my feet and kneeled, planting kisses on my calves leading up to my thighs and up to my back. He left my dress on and was underneath it and behind me. I could only feel him. He bit my ass hard and slipped his fingers inside me and I cried out.

“This can’t be all your way or no way, Seth.”

“Laura, I can’t wait. Name it.”

“Take off your clothes,” I ordered, surprised at the forcefulness of my own voice. He stood up quickly and undressed without another word and I ushered him to lie on the bed. I straddled his face, my dress still on, watching his jaw line tighten and pure lust in his eyes as I brought my most intimate part to him. He dove in without hesitation, cupping my ass and burying his face between my thighs, bringing me higher and higher until my body shuddered and my ache subsided slightly. I instantly moved my body to hover over his, my dress covering all sides of him. I finally saw what I needed to see in his face: defeat.

“You want me to let go with you, let go with me. Say it, Seth.”

“Laura,” he was breathless and agitated.

I slid myself along his hard edge and he gasped. I felt his hand on my hips as I closed my eyes, ready to give in without any more of a fight. I needed him, God, how I needed him.

“Please, Laura.” I immediately gave him what he asked for and took all of him inside. I went weak immediately and searched his eyes. He reached up and wiped tears away I hadn’t realized I was letting go of. I hovered over him, not moving, feeling all of him pulsating inside me. I slowly lifted off of him and let all of my weight bring me back down. He lifted up, grazing my now exposed nipples with his tongue before pulling my hips towards him and thrusting again. I shuddered and leaned over, my mouth against his, crying out to him. I felt him thrust again, working my body against his, rubbing himself deeper.

I lifted my head to watch him beneath me. I got my second wind and stilled his arms. He let me stop him and waited patiently, longing in his eyes. I reached behind me, placing my hands on his thighs, and lifted my body off of him and brought it back down. I felt the urge to let go again and fell apart watching his eyes light up in recognition of the pleasure he was giving me. I continued to ride him, pulling him deeper and deeper into me as he moaned my name.

I was letting go again and again on top of him. I saw a wave of satisfaction cross his face as he brought me to the brink repeatedly and I let go each time. He lifted up and met my mouth as he found his own release, moaning my name, wrapping his arms around me, grinding me into him. He pushed my hair behind my shoulders as he lifted his mouth to mine, kissing me deeply as his body convulsed, spilling the last drop into me.

“Baby,” he whispered, wiping the tears from my face.

“I’m sorry, Seth. I don’t know why I do it. It’s annoying and I really don’t even realize it.”

“Don’t be sorry, baby.”

“You got a room for us, that’s so cool.”

“And it’s a good thing, too. I was trying to make this night romantic until you turned it into a porno.” He chuckled, bit the skin above my nipple and took one into his mouth. I saw another key card on the nightstand with a sticker that read Room 212, a receipt, and a small overnight bag on the floor. I looked around and quickly realized there was a bucket of champagne and unlit candles everywhere in the room.

“Oh no, you had this whole thing set up and I threw a fit. I’m sorry.” I pulled back and saw a smile on his face.

“Don’t be. The night’s not over yet.” He bit my nipple and quickly soothed his bite with his tongue, then blew on it until he got his desired result. “You know, you’re getting to be a dirty girl, Laura. You’ve come a long way since your first night with me.”

“Seth, I’m embarrassed. Really, I don’t act like that. I don’t know why I did that.”

“You did exactly what you felt like doing, and yes baby, you do taste good. You taste like heaven.” I buried my head in his shoulder and he lifted my chin to meet his lips. “I loved it, Laura.”

I was just about to beg him for another round when I realized why we were there.

“Dave! We have to go back right now.” I looked at the hotel clock. “His next set starts in five minutes. We quickly dressed and I washed myself clean with a hotel rag. I was covered in sweat and was no longer well put together. I felt like a sticky awful mess. I fixed what I could of my makeup and we made our way to the elevator. I was almost pissed Seth had managed to get himself back to the same shape he was in. We stayed on opposite sides of the elevator, once again grinning at each other.

“You are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen.” He was genuine with his compliment and I felt my heart explode in my chest. I decided to give him a taste of his own medicine and more than that, I had been dying to tell him something, anything that resembled what I felt for him.

“You may think about me every day, but I dream about you almost every night, even when you’re lying next to me.”

He clutched his heart with his hands with a smile and walked to me and cupped my chin, kissing me lightly as the doors opened. The party was packed with people and Dave had just started his set. Krista walked toward us with a knowing smile and I couldn’t help my blush as she reached us.

“I need to talk to you,” she whispered to me.

“I won’t tell,” I whispered back, beaming at Seth. She grabbed my arm, asking Seth for a few minutes alone with me. He kissed my cheek as another friend of his called his name and he made his way over. Krista was forceful in her walk and hurried us over to a small table farthest from the party.

“Laura, I know Rebecca.”

“Who is Rebecca?”

“His ex.”

“You do?”

“Yes, I thought I recognized Seth and realized it a few minutes after. I’ve seen them together a few times at some of my clubs. She is a total vindictive bitch and told me months ago that she had her husband picked out and he was on a slum vacation.”

“A slum vacation, huh?” I caught him eyeing me and my face quickly turned dark. He seemed to notice.

“Well, I can’t say I’m surprised,” I croaked, barely able to get the words out.

“We went to the same high school and I hated her then. I was forced to spend a few hours with her, because our mothers are friends. She talks about him like she owns him. I see the way you look at each other and I feel terrible for telling you this, but Laura, it’s pretty clear to me that she has a good hold on him. I just want you to keep your guard up.”

“I know about her. He told me. He said she fucked up royally and he could see whomever he wants.” My words felt like lead coming out. I was instantly terrified.

“Be careful, Laura. She has a way of making those around her miserable if she doesn’t get what she wants.”

“Oh, it’s too late, Krista. I’m already so into him.” I sighed seeing Seth and his resolve to break up our conversation as he walked our way.

“Krista? You don’t think I can win?” I asked, hopeful.

“Laura, when it comes to dealing with that bitch, it’s better just to give up.”

I felt the lump in my throat intensify as Seth fought his way through the crowd to me, seeing my expression darken with each word Krista spoke.

“The way he looks at you, Laura. It’s the way Dave looks at me. Just be careful, okay?” I nodded in agreement and hugged her as Seth finally reached me and kissed my cheek. Krista patted his shoulder and worked her way through the crowd to Dave’s side.

“What’s wrong, baby?”

“Nothing, Seth. Let’s just have fun tonight.”

“Fine with me, except your face is giving you away, baby. Tell me.”

“I can’t talk about it now. Not now, not tonight, it’s our night.”

“Tomorrow night will be, too.”

“Yeah,” I scoffed and he noticed, but let the subject drop. We made our way to the bar and he ordered our drinks. He catered to me in his usual beautiful way the rest of the night, holding me, touching me, kissing me. Dave took a break from his set and joined us at the bar.

“What’s wrong, Laurs?” I saw Krista look at me with a guilty apologetic face. I smiled at Dave and hugged him. “Nothing, I’m so happy you finally came to your senses.” Seth looked a little confused, so when Dave and Krista walked away to mingle, I clarified.

“They’ve been fighting their feelings for each other for years and they finally got together last night.”

“That’s cool,” he mused, placing his hands on my hips, rocking me toward him. I resisted and he noticed.

“Tell me what’s wrong.”

“I’m not going to be able to go with you to your game tomorrow, Seth.”

“Why not?”

“I forgot I made other plans.”

“Liar.”

“Why are you with me?”

“What?”

“Nothing,” I said and turned my back to him to look at the Dallas skyline. If he was ‘slumming it’ with me, I didn’t want to hear him say it. I had to drop it. I wanted what time we had left to be good. If he was going to leave me for her, it wasn’t going to be tonight, and I wasn’t going to let her ruin it for us both. I quickly turned around and saw him brooding. I kissed him and smiled against his lips.

“I’ll be there tomorrow. I’m sorry. It’s just something I have to deal with. I don’t want to ruin our night. I’m getting thirsty for champagne. Know where I can find some?”

His eyes lit up as he walked me toward the door. Dave stopped us and we stayed at the party much longer than we anticipated.

We ended up drinking the champagne with Dave and Krista into the late hours and I woke up fully clothed with no sign of either of them and a raging headache. I smacked my dry lips together and discarded my dress quickly, heading for the shower. I eyed Seth passed out and still impeccably dressed on top of the comforter. I stopped on the way to the bathroom to rummage through Seth’s overnight bag to find toothpaste and saw a white gift box and opened it. It was a necklace with a diamond letter R and I quickly closed it. I looked up to see Seth watching me carefully.
