Dalton didn’t say anything. He merely hugged her even tighter and brushed a kiss on the top of her head. Olivia had never felt so cherished in her life as she did in this powerful man’s arms.

A glance at the afternoon sun made her feel like her time was almost up. Wade walked over, kneeled behind her, and kissed the back of her neck with tender care. She was over halfway into this wild weekend of lust and already didn’t want to leave.

Chapter Seven

Clay truly enjoyed the lunch at their new leased piece of land south of the DRMC property. It had worked well as an alternate meeting place for the membership to gather en masse, especially the large, flat space right outside the barn area for their lunch tables and portable awning.

The leased land also afforded some additional entertainments that weren’t available on their property. There was a big barn with lots of hay bales for seating, a corral nearby with a selection of saddled horses for riding, and a big house with a nice kitchen that Stella, their party coordinator and cook, used for some of the food she made earlier.

Many of the members had specifically told him they enjoyed the entire day, but mostly the roping and riding games after lunch. Another popular place had been in the secondary barn where a couple of calves had been born recently.

Personally, Clay thought cows in general weren’t exactly attractive creatures, but any baby animals, even calves, were admittedly cute. Regardless of his private opinions, the members were delighted with the new entertainments at this secondary leased property.

Clay liked happy DRMC members.

In a couple of hours they’d open the doors to the preparty for the annual Stadium event. He came to unlock the front doors for anyone not coming in through their private boxes. The caterers would use this entrance. This was also where most of the nonmembers came through, if they weren’t already in the company of their chosen companions for the weekend.

Tonight’s performance would be an unannounced triple penetration show. They didn’t often do those, but occasionally they liked to change things up.

Clay fondly remembered the last time
he
had participated in the annual Stadium event. That had also been a triple penetration show. He didn’t currently have a partner to share women with, but had participated in that show with a trio of very good friends.

After a tragic past, and until recently, he hadn’t even wanted to
think
about getting involved again. He’d once been married and lived a perfect threesome lifestyle sharing a woman he loved deeply with his best friend, but a terrible incident had taken the two people he loved the most from him. It had taken a very long time for Clay’s recovery to even begin.

Slowly the demons of his past faded, and he’d recently decided that if a situation came along where he could live this unbridled life again, he would take another chance and make the effort to find another pair. But he wasn’t going to rush anything.

Currently, he was so busy with his vast DRMC duties, he didn’t have much free time anyway. Regardless, he’d decided that there
was
a light at the end of the tunnel for his future love life. And further, that it wasn’t a train bearing down ready to mow him to the ground.

He’d barely gotten inside the Stadium entryway when one of the women invited to participate for this weekend entered the door behind him. She was a very pretty blonde and had been to several recent annual Stadium events. If he remembered correctly, her name was Laurel. She’d brought her cousin along with her this year. Her cousin, Olivia, was the strawberry blonde that Dalton and Wade were all gaga over. He couldn’t say he blamed them. She was easy on the eyes.

Clay turned to her and said, “You’re pretty early. The preshow party doesn’t start for another two hours. The caterers aren’t even here yet.”

“Really? I thought I was running a little bit late.” She scrunched her face in puzzlement and glanced at her watch. She looked like she was about to twist her arm around to show him her watch face, but stopped and looked up at the ceiling as if angry. “Crap. This is a different time zone.” She pushed out a long sigh. “I’m from the East Coast. I still have this dressy watch set to Eastern time instead of Mountain time.”

Clay nodded, wondering if she expected to wander around here for two hours. Because
that
wasn’t going to happen.

She kept talking. “I took a nap at my hotel after the barbecue lunch, woke up in the late afternoon, saw my watch, and thought I was going to be late.” She laughed nervously and looked around the darkened vestibule like she’d just suddenly realized the two of them were all alone. Her expression dulled and she suddenly looked a little anxious.

Maybe he made her uneasy. It wouldn’t be the first time he’d made a woman nervous. “I hate to tell you this, but you can’t stay in here. Are the two men you’re with this weekend meeting you?”

She nodded. “But not for another couple of hours, as it turns out.”

“No problem. Give me their names and I’ll have them come pick you up. Would that be okay?”

“That would be great. Thanks. I’m so sorry to trouble you.”

“It’s not a problem.”

She told him the name of the pair she was with and Clay made a quick call.

He snapped his phone shut and said, “They’ll be here in ten minutes.”

“Thanks. Could I stay inside and maybe make a phone call before I leave?”

Clay shrugged. “Sure. Stay inside the entryway here until your two men come for you. I don’t mean to insinuate that I’m kicking you outside to the wolves or anything. But the caterers and party planners will be swarming this place very soon. Trust me, it’s a zoo.
I
don’t even like to be here while they set up.”

She smiled and looked like she relaxed a notch. “I understand. Thanks for letting me stay in here.” Music started playing from her purse. She made a face like she didn’t expect her phone to ring. Clay just tried not to look intimidating. She excused herself, reached into the small bag she carried, and retrieved her cell phone.

She looked at the display and frowned, but answered quickly. “What do you want?” she asked in a surly tone. She turned away from Clay and lowered her voice.

He could still hear her side of the heated conversation.

“No. I don’t know where she is. But it doesn’t matter. She’s allowed to have a weekend off. Leave her alone.”

Clay looked up at the ceiling wondering how long this call would take and if it would be rude to leave her alone and go about his business.

“Oh my God. You are crazy, Bradford. You couldn’t have heard Olivia laugh. She was nowhere near me at lunch when you called earlier. And another thing, stop calling me. Next time I’m not picking my phone up. I mean it.”

Clay smiled because she was fibbing to the party at the other end of the line. Olivia
had
been standing right next to her at lunch. He remembered why Olivia had laughed, too. Clay had chased the dog with the stolen barbecue ribs in his mouth all the way to the barn to make sure the mutt didn’t choke on the bones. He did strip the meat off for him, though, garnering instant canine friendship.

Laurel listened to her phone as a fresh set of eye rolls and a head shake registered on her lovely face. “Oh my God, Bradford. You are such a busybody, nitpicking shithead. Olivia is allowed to have a life beyond the family business. I’m begging you, leave her alone. Do not attempt to track her cellular phone. I don’t care what Grandfather says, she deserves time off now and again.”

Clay looked up as the sound of a large vehicle came from the outer doors. He peeked outside and saw the caterer’s truck pulling up. The men driving parked and got out, but didn’t approach the door. Instead went to the rear of their truck probably to start unloading stuff.

When Clay turned back to his companion, she made another face into her phone and shook her head once more as if in disgust. “Well, I’m fairly certain that since we’ve never agreed on anything, our record of discord will remain sound. Leave me alone. Leave Olivia alone. Take a rest. Or a flying leap. I don’t much care what you do, but don’t bother calling again.” She pulled the phone away from her ear, stabbed a forefinger onto the keypad, and snapped the phone shut. Shoving the small device into her purse, Laurel smiled at Clay. “Sorry. My brother has nothing better to do than bother me and Olivia whenever he gets bored or doesn’t know exactly where we are.”

Clay shrugged. “Brothers do worry,” he said. Then added, “Especially about younger siblings.”

“Do you have a brother?” She crossed her arms.

Clay nodded. “I do.”

“Older?”

He nodded again. “Yep.”

“Big pain in your ass?” She grinned conspiratorially.

Clay smiled. “Occasionally, but not in a long time.”

“Does he live close by?”

“Nope.”

“You’re so lucky. I’d like to move Bradford to the moon, instead of him being only a few blocks away.” She pushed out a long-suffering sigh.

The door opened and one of the two gentlemen Laurel was spending the weekend with poked his head in. “Hi, Clay. Thanks for the call.”

“No problem. See you all in a couple of hours.”

Laurel walked quickly to the door. “And thanks for letting me hang with you,” she said.

Clay nodded once in her direction, but didn’t say anything. She exited hand in hand with her date as the first load of things from the caterers entered in through the opposite door.

He held the door open for the several other members of the catering staff and pondered the last time he’d talked to his older brother, Kendall. They’d had words during the darkest time of his life. Kendall lived in Montana, where he ran a very lucrative business. Clay hadn’t seen him in a number of years. Not since his wife, Larissa, and his best friend, Mark, had died and changed his life forever.

The things they’d said to each other in anger were only because of his pain over the overwhelming loss of his family. He’d been unreasonable when his brother had only tried to help him get through the tremendous loss. Kendall had reached out more than once in the past several years, but Clay hadn’t been ready to converse.

Maybe it was time to get in touch and mend the harsh words they’d spoken to each other long ago.

Chapter Eight

Olivia strolled through the Stadium event preparty with another glass of champagne clutched in her cold, bare fingers. She was a little nervous about tonight’s event. She shouldn’t be. She knew exactly what to expect.

Dalton and Wade, however, had mentioned that there was a new feature in their private box. They could keep the viewing window transparent instead of mirrored while they enjoyed the Stadium performance tonight. That meant that others would be able to see into their private box as they watched the performance.

If the three of them suddenly stripped naked and had double-penetration sex, everyone would be able to watch them do it. On one hand it was very sexy to think others would watch them. On the other hand, she was a little nervous about it. This place was like a big, visual orgy.

What if she looked goofy making love that way? Then again, if they were having hot double-penetration sex, she likely wouldn’t be paying attention to anyone else. And perhaps the other members would also be sidetracked with their own lovemaking.

It would be wickedly decadent to see so many others engaged in sexual acts while she was naked and doing the same thing. Maybe it would be okay.

Her rattled nerves were just that. Nerves.

She had never let fear lead her or dominate her actions before. And she wouldn’t allow it to happen now, either.

Dalton had his hand wrapped around her elbow as they strolled through the party and even after they stopped. It was as if he wanted to anchor himself to her side. Wade stood close by holding an imported bottle of ale. He took a sip and then ran his gaze from the top of her head to her shoes and back again. He’d done this more than once since they’d arrived.
