Mac asked the medic assisting the two wounded men how they were? The medic said both would be ok, flesh wounds, and looks worse than they are. Mac reached and turned on the radio to see if anything was being reported yet. A state broadcaster was reporting there has been a terrible explosion at the governor’s mansion while an important meeting was taking place. Emergency crews and law enforcement officials are at the scene but no information is available at this time. Mac asked have you got the men fixed up and the medic said no problem they will fight again. Some thirty minutes later they were going thru the city of Circleville and Goldie said turn right next exit that takes us back to Clinton county. Just then the state newscaster said a terrible tragedy has happened in Columbus, Ohio. Bombs planted by terrorists have destroyed the governor’s mansion.

The announcement said our governor and the governors from seven surrounding states have been murdered by a cowardly attack at the governor’s mansion. Many others have been killed and wounded including several United Nations military observers, state police officers, and National Guard troops. The state spokesman said we have just been informed that terrorist attacks were also carried out in Phoenix Arizona, St. Louis Missouri, and Philadelphia Pennsylvania where government officials were holding meetings. These terrible attacks have taken the lives of the governors of thirty-six states and killed and wounded scores of United Nations officials and National Guard troops. The broadcaster said this is the work of organized terrorists trying to undermine the efforts of our leaders to restore peace to our nation. Rewards will be paid for information about these terrorists’ organizations.

The captain and others were successful in their operations too. Goldie said lets go on back to camp and wait for Richard to contact us. As they drove past snow hill and thru Vienna not a sign of state or federal officers was seen. They proceeded on to their camp area without incident and after checking their supplies they built a small fire then opened their field rations and sat down to rest, and relax. After a time Goldie told Tim he was the only one who had family in the area and with all the federals having left it should be safe for him to visit his family. Tim said sounds good to me but I don’t like to leave while the rest of you can’t. Mac and the men said don’t worry about that take off while you can. Tim said well ok he would call later to check in.

That evening Tim called back and said he had talked to James and Joshua and let them know you guys are all ok. He said the radio has been going crazy all day. By the way, my wife said don’t worry about fixing rations for tonight, her and some of the others are fixing supper for us and we will be bringing it out later. About dusk Tim pulled into the camp area along with another vehicle. James and Joshua were with him. Several ladies in the other car had come with them. The men began carrying out food and the women spread cloths on the ground and started setting up a real picnic dinner fit for kings. The men all ate heartily and told the women how much their kindness and support meant to them. They passed the evening talking about old times and hopes for tomorrow and in no time it seemed the hour was late.

Before leaving the women said the local townspeople, men and women, are organizing a village defense force. We now have more than five hundred citizens armed and ready to take back our village if the military tries to return. We will be ready to march with you when the time comes to take the fight to them. People are doing the same thing in every town across the county and in highland and Adams counties as well. Goldie told the women we fight because we know what we have at home is worth fighting for. You are the love and strength that bonds us together as families and friends. He told Tim and his sons go now and escort the women home then meet us here tomorrow around noon. He gave his sons a hug and said tell my grandkids I love them and will to see them soon.

After they had departed Mac said Goldie I wonder what Richard and the others are planning for us. Goldie replied we should know soon I’m sure. I expected he would have called by now he must be working on something special. They turned the radio on to see if anything new had developed. The newscasters were still talking about the deaths and destruction caused by recent terrorist attacks. The report said many United Nations member states are alarmed at the prospect of facing millions of armed civilian militia, many who have wartime military experience, and are urging the Security Council not to take direct military action in support of the current American regime. Reports say there have been military coups already as the new regime tries to eliminate those whose loyalties are in question. It is feared outside intervention may cause widespread dissent among the military ranks. Mac said dam it’s time men of courage made their stand in the services.

Finally as night fell the men retired to rest. Mac awakened Goldie and told him said Richard and the captain are en route and would be here in about an hour. The men were heating breakfast rations and soon all sat down to eat and enjoy the coffee. Later the lookout signaled that Richard and his companions had arrived. Richard, the captain, and his team dismounted and everyone poured a cup of coffee and began to discuss the latest events. First Richard said I want to commend you on your successful operation in Columbus, and advise that our operations in St Louis and Philadelphia were successful. The traitors have been taught another lesson in old-fashioned American patriotism. We have taken out many of the appointed governors, his military leaders, and United Nations advisors. We took out scores of their soldiers and we did not lose a man.

Now a matter of great importance has come to our attention. We have learned that the new appointed governor and his military counterparts have decided to send a large military force into your sector to search you out and destroy your capability to fight. A regimental force of thirty six hundred light infantry forces and a transportation support company of one thousand are to be deployed into your sector. Our informant tells us they will be moving in from fort Knox Kentucky and should arrive in this area within a week. Goldie said fort Knox has always been what most men refer to as a homesteader’s base, that is, it’s a place where the good old boys get assigned for the duration of their careers. I know people who spend their whole dam twenty years there without ever leaving that post. I will enjoy teaching them what it’s like outside their clubhouses.

Their plans are to fly into the old air base near you and set up their base of operations near you. Goldie said that doesn’t surprise me, I knew when the Germans took over that air freight operations it was to establish a base for the united nations to move into. I recall writing a letter in the local paper and sending copies to all veterans organizations at the time that the united nations was securing locations all across the land preparing for the day of the new world order. What I found out was that even the veteran’s organizations loved their tax-exempt status more than they did a free America. They didn’t even object when Washington signed an agreement to hold the united nations superior to America, even to ordering the flying of the united nations flag above old glory at the united nations headquarters building in new York.

Richard said you might soon have that pleasure friend. We are told they may have air support chopper gun ships to use if they can smoke you out into an area where they can be used. Mac said we have shoulder-fired surface to air missiles and people who know how and have used them. We can make them pay dearly if they move in. The captain said this appears to be an all out effort to show others resistance is useless. They hope to do that by destroying you here. You taught them a lesson at snow hill; they hope to show others it can’t happen again. Mac said I recon we will just have to show them and our friends across this land that it can. Goldie asked Richard, do you have access to anti personnel explosives, claymores and such? Richard it just happens we have a generous supply available and more shoulder fired rockets if you need them. Mac said yes and some additional C-4 fragment grenades as well.

Mac said we will need additional ammunition and if possible some armor piercing ammo to help bring the choppers down if they move in. Also we will need some mortars with anti personnel shells. Richard said we have both short and long-range mortars that are no problem. The captain said this would be the largest operation in this sector since you took them out at snow hill. We want to make certain you have everything needed, sufficient numbers of men, and plan this well. Others will watch this from across the country and it will raise the moral of our people everywhere when we beat their Asses here. Goldie said yeah we don’t want to do anything to let them know we are aware of their plans to move in. I want them to come in. I want them all here. Then we can take them all out to the last man.

Mac said captain by any chance can you fix us up with some high explosives. The captain said yes in fact we have some obtained from an earlier raid at a reserve unit. Mac said we can rig them up and place them in strategic places. Some six-volt batteries and copper wiring would help to set them up. The captain said my men could fix those for you. We will bring you some bombs with detonators and wiring already set up so all you will have to do is place them and set the timers. Goldie said we have men who worked at the base. We will have no trouble getting them in the best locations to do the most damage.

Richard said it looks like everything is covered; we will bring you all the supplies tomorrow afternoon. Goldie said my sons and Tim would start getting the men ready for the job ahead. The captain put his hand on Goldie’s shoulder and said yours has not been an easy time these last few weeks. Your personal losses have been great but your steadfast resolve has not wavered. America is fortunate to have a patriot such as you. Goldie said I have trusted friends who have stood beside me in these trying times, together we will persevere so our children can be free.

Goldie told the captain when this operation is over I have a special trip I want to take to New York. The captain said what do you have in mind. Goldie replied I intend to tear that dam united nations flag off the UN building and take the building down too if possible. The captain said I’d want to be in on that myself. Let Richard make some contacts in that area and see if we can work it out. Meantime, my team and me will be coming back with the supplies needed for this current job, until then you and Mac and the others take care.

After Richard and the captain had left Goldie said well we have work to do. Tim you and jams and Joshua get the men together. Tell them we have a job to do in a few days, probably later this week. Call and let me know once you have positive numbers then we will get the leaders and anyone who has been employed at the cargo base meet with us. We must plan this well and be ready to teach them a good lesson. We may take some losses on this one the men need to be prepared for that should it happen. Mac said most have been thru this before they will hold together if it gets rough.

Goldie said Mac, come with me I want to show you around the freight terminal where we will be engaging the enemy. He told the others rest and be watchful we shall return in a while. On the way they talked about the old days in the army and the friends they had made, and those who had been lost. Mac said who would have thought it would come to this, a nation betrayed by their leaders. Yeah Goldie said, greed for wealth, position, and power turns some into fools others into dictators. He slowed down and turned onto the airborne road running along the base then turned into the drive leading to the main hanger areas and unloading ramps. As you see, Goldie said, there are two runways one on either side of the main complex. Whichever strip they land on they will have to taxi over these approaches to this staging area. It looks like they are preparing those warehouses for troops to be housed in.

We can plan our departure from here by leaving the way we came in or we can use these connecting streets to exit the base. These streets take you back to the highway where we turned off; I’ll show you as we leave. He drove along the street back to the road then turned towards Vienna and their camp. This was the main logistic area when the base was in full swing, it’s the only building that has heat and air and this is probably where the wheels will plan on setting up shop. He drove on towards their camp arriving without incident and found the men relaxed but watchful. They sat down to draw a layout of the runways, cargo unloading areas, and storage warehouses to describe the area to those unfamiliar with the air base.

He told the men we will have to plan this to work at our advantage. We don’t want to risk a direct face off with that sizes a force. Mac said we would have to hit them after they are all on the ground so none can get away. The problem is once on the ground it will be difficult for us to move into their housing area without being seen, they have learned by now to have guards posted. Yeah, Goldie said, we are going to have to trap them where we can destroy the whole bunch.

Goldie told Mac, last I heard there was still an Ohio guard unit with United Nations observers headquartered at the old tool factory. Mac said we could have some men stage an attack on the factory. We could pen them in and make enough noise so they think we have all our people there, but have our main forces waiting someplace along the way for the forces from airborne park if they respond. Goldie said well it worked for the Viet Cong many a time to ambush our units going to relieve a small outpost under siege. It’s something we can consider but we need to see how they set their operation up. They may send out small patrols to try to draw us out, if so we can turn that to our advantage. Or we can see if they meet with the Sabina unit, which would tell us if they would run to help them if needed.
