After a while Goldie told his old friend it’s time we move on we have a way to travel yet. Charles said might I ask where you are headed? Goldie told him they were planning a visit to the U.N. Bldg. Charles said I know the place well been past the damn place many times. He said it’s about a twenty-minute drive from here if you want I will join you. In fact Charles said, if you like I will drive you and show you the area around the building. Mac said Goldie that might be a good idea a local vehicle wouldn’t attract attention. Charles said the men could remain here and get some rest while we are gone. Goldie said sounds good, but he would need to take the two vehicle drivers with them so they would know the area. Charles said no problem his van would hold the five of us.
Charles said have the men pull your vehicles in the barn out of sight, also there is plenty of gasoline in that pump by the door they can fill both vehicles so you won’t have to get fuel later. Goldie gave Charles some cash for the gas and food and told the men rest up we will return in a short time. As they approached the outskirts of the city Charles said he would show them the easiest direct route to the building. He said I expect you may want to leave in a hurry when your business is finished. Goldie said yes I’m afraid we will. The drive to the location was quicker than expected. Charles drove slowly past the front entrance. The street and front parking was well lighted as could be expected. The drive continued around the building to a larger rear parking area with exit streets at both ends of the parking area. Charles said if we take this exit it would continue on for a short distance then connect back with the road we came in on. He proceeded to drive that short distance to show the others where the streets connected.
Charles turned around and went back past the front entrance then continued on past for a block and made a turn and drove to the end of the street. This street is the other exit from the rear parking area. He said if you come out of the other exit this is the direction you will be going. He turned onto the street and said you can take this exit drive three blocks and turn here. This road continues for about one half mile then makes a sharp turn thru the woods. If you keep going it will bring you right back past my home where you can get back on interstate 90. Charles drove on down the road and in a short time they were back to his home. The men came out of the barn and were surprised to see them return so quickly. One of the men asked how did it go and Mac told them everything went well that we will all go take a look later.
Charles asked how soon do you intend to leave. Goldie said well it near midnight now I thought we might get some rest then move out in time to get there about an hour before daybreak. Charles said bed down in the hayloft or in your vehicles in the barn if you like. Goldie said we appreciate that and will do so. He added, Charles there is no need for you to have to rise early. We will pull out quietly in the morning so we’ll say thank you for your hospitality now. Charles said so long for now I wish you all well and hope your mission is a successful one. Goldie said goodnight friend then he told the others lets get a few hours rest.
Mac awoke and saw Goldie was already awake and was busy drawing two maps of the area around the United Nations headquarters. He had outlined the position of the front, rear, and side exits to the building, and the exit streets from the parking areas. Mac woke the others and they had some breakfast snacks while going over the maps. He gave one map to each of the drivers and pointed out to them where to park, which exit streets to take, and the location where all would meet if they became separated. He said drivers are to remain with their vehicles and if it becomes necessary you are to take the right exit street and drive approximately one half mile to where the road makes a left turn thru a wooded area. Wait for us there.
Goldie told Mac, I want you to go with the guys who will be working the rear area of the building. The meeting of the Security Council is scheduled to start at eight o’clock. Get your men in position and wait until the wheels are all inside. At exactly eight fifteen use the silencers and take out their outside security, we will do the same out front. At the same time I will fire the first grenade and take down their damn flag. When you hear that follow up with incendiary rockets then frag grenades thru every window. We will do the same out front then circle the building and meet you at the rear. Two minuets, that’s all, from start to finish. If for any reason we cant make it to the vehicles you are to leave. The drivers know where to wait for us.
When we get to the split in the highway you have your driver take the left road that leads to the rear of the building. We will continue on the road to the front. Our driver will drop us off by the wooded area in the park across the street from the building, then continue on and park where your driver will be parked. They entered the vehicles and drove slowly down the drive onto the highway below. All was quiet as they approached the headquarters and no security or police was seen outside. Goldie and his men left the vehicle and slipped into the wooded park area.
The Flag of Treason Falls
Before long vehicles began arriving dropping the dignitaries off at the front steps going up to the entrance. Others could be seen entering and leaving from the rear area. The men remained concealed in the woods and watched the activity. Vehicles had stopped arriving and it was nearly eight o’clock. Two security guards came out for a moment then one remained while the other went back inside. The fall air was cool and daylight was slow to come but it was getting lighter by the minute. Goldie readied his weapon attaching the grenade to the launcher.
He told the men, one minute to go prepare to fire when I fire. He leveled his rocket launcher taking careful aim at the base of the U.N. flag then fired. He saw the flag and several others to the left and right of it blown from the building. The men were launching the grenades and rockets and explosions could be heard coming from the rear of the building. Flames and smoke were coming from the doorway and windows and part of the front roof was crumbling. He told the men follow me and started out thru the woods until about a block from the building then crossed the street and headed towards the rear of the building. Heavy small arms fire could be heard coming from the area where the cars should have been parked. As they rounded the building he found Mac and his men engaged in a firefight with a number of what appeared to be federal military guard forces. Others were unloading from two troop carriers and Goldie and his men opened up on them trying to pen them down by their vehicles.
Follow me the old veteran yelled as he ran towards the area where Mac and his men were engaged. They attacked the small force from the rear and trapped them between him and Mac’s team. They overran that small force and joined up with Mac, no one had been lost yet. They continued on thru the wooded park area knowing the larger federal force was close behind. Mac said the drivers got both vehicles away in good shape when the fighting started. The federal troops were firing now but were not coming close yet. Goldie knew they had several hundred yards to go yet and told the men return fire at the federal forces but keep moving towards the meeting place. As they neared the meeting area he yelled for the men to stop and each fire a rocket or grenade towards the troops following them, then keep moving. As the grenades and missiles started exploding he yelled that would slow them down.
They topped a knoll and down the grade the vehicles could be seen waiting for them. He told the men fire another round of grenades to keep them off until we get loaded and out of here. As the grenades were exploding they jumped into the vehicles and sped away. They headed down the road and a short time later drove past his friend’s house then onto the interstate highway. Mac came on the radio everyone ok here how you doing. Goldie advised him some slight scratches nothing serious. He asked Mac, did the feds have a chance to see our vehicles. Mac said he was certain they did not. Our drivers did as told and left the scene as soon as things heated up. Goldie said lets hope you are right. Stay a ways behind us but close enough to keep us in sight. We will continue on till we reach my friends service station at the exit.
Back in new Vienna at the base camp James and Joshua and the others were having a coke and listening to the state controlled radio station. Suddenly the announcer grew excited and said we have important news. A band of terrorists have attacked the United Nations headquarters building in New York city with bombs and missiles. The building is burning and emergency crews are trying to rescue as many as they can from the building. Parts of the building have collapsed making it difficult for rescuers to find and help the survivors. Then he added. We are told our forces have the terrorists trapped and surrounded in an adjacent wooded area and heavy fighting is taking place. James said damn, damn, we should be there with dad. The cell phone rang and it was Richard. He asked have you been listening to the radio and Joshua advised they were aware of the situation. Richard said the captain and he were on their way to the campsite.
A half hour later Richard pulled into the campsite and he and the captain and driver came walking over. They shook hands and James offered them a soda and told them have a seat by the fire. The radio announcer was excitedly reporting events of the attack. He said after discharging several explosive devices at the doors to the united nations building the terrorists fired incendiary bombs and rockets into the building setting it on fire. Parts of the building have collapsed. It is not known yet how many United Nations officials are dead or injured. Crews are still working to save as many as possible. Also it is reported that loud explosions have been heard coming from the wooded area where the terrorists are surrounded. Officials say the terrorists are on foot with no way out.
The commentator said we now have camera crews at the scene and will have coverage in a moment. Then the scene changed and a camera news team began showing pictures of the United Nations Building. The roof had fallen in and the front of the building was demolished. Flames and smoke was pouring from the debris. The camera man said there are sounds of explosions and machine gunfire coming from that wooded area across the street behind the building. It is believed the terrorists are surrounded and are being eliminated. This gang will never murder innocent people again. Richard said they don’t know whom they are fighting. I know Goldie and Mac and they would have planned for such a situation as this. They will fight their way out of this and we will be hearing from them before long. The captain said he agreed, Goldie is too smart a leader to get his men trapped with no way out. Just then the announcer came on and reported that sources say the firing and explosions have stopped and it is believed that government forces have the situation under control.
Tim came on the radio to say he was on his way over to see them. He got out and came hurriedly over to the fire. He said I knew you would be listening and felt I should be here. He added don’t give up on your dad and Mac they have been in these situations before. The phone rang and James picked it up then He yelled, its dad by God they made it. Everyone made it out ok in one piece and they are on their way home and should be here late tonight.
Tim said my wife and some others are on the way with food and snacks now we can celebrate for real. When the women arrived everyone’s spirits had been lifted and the afternoon was spent joking and laughing. The captain added he would sure like to see the faces of the feds when they realize the men had all escaped. Yeah Richard said they sure would have some explaining to do. Tim laughed and said if there’s anyone left to explain to. They talked, laughed, and sometimes cried with joy listening to the state radio until late into the evening hours.
The commentators were periodically giving updates on the days events. One spokesperson came on saying dozens of federal officers had been killed in fierce fighting with the terrorists who were armed with rockets and grenades. He reported forces were still searching the woods and adjacent areas for the terrorists believed to be hiding in the area. Reportedly the American ambassador to the United Nations and the U.N. Secretary General died in the attack. Several other American diplomats as well as scores of foreign diplomats have reportedly been killed and injured. One reporter said a passerby who saw the attack said he first heard a loud explosion and saw the balcony and all the flags blown off the front of the rooftop then there were explosions everywhere.
It was getting near midnight when the camp lookout signaled visitors coming, and then he yelled it’s them, they are back. The vehicles came to a stop and Goldie and the others got out. They were given a warm welcome and taken over to the campfire. Several of the men had received injuries in the fighting but known were serious. The medic cleaned and cared for the injured with the help of the women. After things calmed down Richard said men because of your actions all that love freedom will long remember this day. You have shown your men and all who support you that you ask nothing of them you are not willing to do yourself. The women came over with warm food and coffee for the men and told them we are behind you all the way. Tim’s wife said you say the word and we will lay down our dishes and pick up our guns and follow you wherever you ask.
Just then a spokesperson announced over the radio that the death and destruction of today’s attack by murdering terrorists was beyond belief. The American Ambassador and Secretary General were killed and so were all but two members of the Security Council. All of the permanent members of the council lost their lives as well as scores of those in the general assembly. The spokesperson said as of now there is no United Nations president, secretary general, Security Council, or general assembly. New appointments to these positions will now have to be made to establish world order and enforce world policies and a new location selected for a national meeting place. The president of the United States has sworn these terrorists and their leader will be caught and tried by a military tribunal.
The captain asked how did you manage to get everything to fall into place. Mac said well first off Goldie had old army buddies who live in New York who furnished us fuel and a place to rest on the road. One of them drove us to survey the area and building and showed us direct routes in and out. Richard said we were concerned when reports came back that they had you surrounded in the woods. How did you manage to elude them? Goldie said the men carried out their instructions to the minute. We took out their security first then followed that with rockets, grenades, and small fire. When an alert force attacked Mac’s team our drivers did exactly as planned and left to a pre-selected area to wait for us. My team was able to surprise the alert forces from the rear and we trapped them between us and eliminated them. We were able to slow down the others with our rockets and grenades long enough to make it to our vehicles and escape.
Goldie asked how have things been here in the state and Richard replied quiet but he expected after they reorganize the leadership structure we should expect a retaliation of some nature for the lesson we taught them at the old air base. But the events of this weekend will cause them to rethink any plans they may have had. Richard said he and the captain must head back to their headquarters to see if there are any new developments. He asked, before we go are you in need of anything at this time. Tim said we are running low on rations and small arms ammo but otherwise we are ok. The captain said one of our runners will deliver what you need tomorrow. As Richard and the captain rose to leave Richard took goldies hand for a moment, until later my friend.
After Richard had left James told his dad we were worried about you guys for a while when the report came on they had you trapped. Joshua said yeah don’t scare us like that dad. The old man looked at his sons for a moment then said, My sons, Freedom comes only to those who are willing to fight for it and the road to liberty can be dangerous for those who tread it. This day fortune was with us but the day may come when some of us may pay the ultimate price as Jeffrey and your mother already have. We must be prepared should we be called to make that sacrifice. Now I must go and spend some time with your mother and Jeffrey. As the old man walked slowly down the path to the gravesite he appeared bent and stooped from the long trip. Mac said to the boys, despite your fathers years he is more of a man than many half his years. You should be proud of him.
Later Goldie came walking up the path to the camp fire. Mac asked you ok top, and the old guy smiled and said he would be fine after a Pepsi and a nights sleep. With that Mac said well men lets turn in and see what tomorrow brings. Mac awoke the next morning to find Goldie and his sons sitting by the fire having a cup of coffee. Some of the men were also having coffee while some had not yet awoke. Goldie said morning Mac, freshen up then join us, the coffee is hot and strong. James reached over and turned the radio on and said lets see if there’s anything new on. Commentators were still lamenting the attack at the united nations building.
The commentator said the final toll is reported at three hundred fifty two dead and many others injured and the U.N. building is a total loss. Also the commentator said twenty three federal troops were slain and sixteen wounded in their valiant effort to capture the terrorists. He reported leaders from all member states of the united nations are meeting and the former president of the united states is expected to be appointed as the new president of that organization. Since his wife is now the American president full cooperation is expected. The commentator said American officials are offering large rewards to any persons who have information that may lead them to the terrorists cell that committed this terrorist attack.
Just then the camp sentry called to say visitors coming in. It turned out to be Richard and the captain bringing the supplies and rations. The men helped unload the supplies then all sat by the fire to discuss recent events. Richard advised his contacts inform him patriots all across the country have taken heart from the action at new York and are attacking united nations positions and the federal troops supporting them. Others are finally beginning to take this fight to the traitors. Also we have friends in active military units willing to keep us supplied with the materials we need. Most important is news that in Australia alarmed citizens have forced their parliament to pull out of the united nations and revoke all laws that prohibit citizens from owning firearms. The people in Australia see what is happening here and realize that if America falls to the traitors they can expect the same.
