I had everyone’s attention in t
he room because I was serious. There was no way I was going to fail.

I continued to conduct the proceedings. “I want Peck and Sway on Bishop, Dallas and Sabrina on
Rachael. Like I said, I’ll handle Jax with Angelique backin’ me up. Everybody good with that?”

Various confirmations came in at different times
and in different tones from the crew, but the answer was a resounding yes. After Dallas said she was cool with it as well, she slowly rose from her chair and walked outside onto the patio.

“I need some air.”
She fanned her hand toward her face making the large stone glint in the low lit room.

If Angelique did notice the light shooting off the diamond
like a little star, she sure did a great job of pretending not to give a fuck. It was a deliberate move by Dallas to reaffirm the pecking order of things, but Angelique seemed unfazed by the discourteous gesture. I put the meeting on pause before the second half began, so I could talk privately with my annoyed fiancé.

I walked outside and felt the cool breeze brush across my face. I found Dallas staring out at the black ocean with her back to the house and the remaining people in it. I to
ok a position next to her and placed my elbows on the wood banister for support. I decided to speak first to show my empathy for her position.

Look, I asked Angelique to join us. I didn’t tell you because she said no at first. I had no idea she was gonna change her mind and show up at the last minute.” I nudged her shoulder with my own as I tossed my cigarette into the darkness.

Dallas sighed. “It’s fine Tyce. I understand why you asked her. Don’t forget, I was there when we robbed the church, the gambling casino, and the bank. And Angelique was there for every last one
of them. I get it. She knows what she’s doin’ so it’s fine. I jus’ needed a moment to calm down after that bogus ring comment.” Dallas squinted her eyes and made sure her voice was just above a whisper. “She know damn well my diamond ain’t no damn seven carats. The bitch said a bigger number to make me look dumb. Did you hear that? See the old Dallas woulda monkey punched her ass for sayin’ some dumb shit like that.
Is it seven carats
?” Her nostrils flared. “No bitch it ain’t seven carats but at least I got a ring. Where the fuck is your ring? Oh yeah that’s right…you ain’t got one!”

I blinked my eyes slowly. “I know,
I know, and thank you for being cool about it. Nothin’ she says matters ‘cuz I’m with you now. I wanna marry you. Alright?”

“Alright.”
She whispered back.

“Now
, I need you to work this Rachael broad with Sabrina. I want you to take the lead on this one and report back to me. Sabrina doesn’t have as much experience in the field as you. Yeah, she came through for me when I broke Angelique out of jail, but she’s never done anything like this before with an opponent that won’t hesitate to shoot her and you. I need you focused.”

Dallas rubbed my back. “Angelique may have been there in the beginning
, but I’m gonna be here in the end. Don’t worry I got you.”

I smiled at her warmly and then sealed the brief pep talk with a long kiss initiated by me. The lip service seemed to work because after that Dallas turned on her six inch heels and sauntered back through the French doors with a slight switch in her round hips.

~Shopping

To do a job the right way the first time, you had to have the right tools. And that meant spending money. I had one man I went to when I wanted the top of the line equipment at my disposal. I’d been a loyal well paying customer of his for the past seven years. Because of my many purchases for nearly a decade, he managed to pay his house off early. I stayed with the latest and greatest and that shit was expensive. So when I called him a few days before with my order, he was all too happy to fill it.

I walked into the Thai restaurant after it had closed for the night through the back alley entrance. The dimly lit kitchen was a familiar place to me
, so I easily navigated around the counters and past the commercial gas stove to a skinny metal door. I opened it and made my way down the short steps until my new Jordan’s landed on cold cement.

“Fah! You down here bro?!” I shouted his name. “Fah! You here?”

“Yes, in the back!” A voice echoed from the rear of the underground storage space.

Once I got to where he was
, I found him standing in front of a long table with all my requested toys spread out neatly under florescent lighting.

“Ahhhh, it’s good to see you again Michael.” He
waved his short arm like one of the Price is Right models showing off a new car. “You like? What do you think? Did Fah come through for you or what? Look at all this shit.” He smiled showing the gap in his front teeth.

I n
odded my approval. “Wasup Fah? Everything looks good as usual. Did you get it all?” I scanned the table.

“Yep. Fah got it all. Look at this shit. Six way hands free ear bud wal
kie with Blue Tooth and a home base set up. These babies have up to a four mile range. Fah got you 12 mat black SR40 Ruger pistols with five cases of bullets, seven Kevlar vests, a new police scanner, and check this out.” He opened the lid on a black case carefully. “Fah got you C4 with remote detonators. Now you can make shit go boom!”

Fah clapped his bony hands together excitedly and showed me his gap again while his brown cheeks balled up into a huge smile.

“I’m impressed.” I patted his back.

“Fah do his best for you like always Michael.” He stroked the short beard on his long chin.

“Make the call then.” I pointed to his cell phone on the table top.

My small arms dealer quickly picked up the device and dialed a number he knew by heart. He looked at me as he spoke softly to the person on the other end.

“Did the flowers come yet?” He asked.

He paused a brief second as the person answered his important question.

“Thank you. See you soon.” He hung up.

“My wife has the money Michael. This is very good. Fah is happy. Now
we can pack everything up and get you on your way. If you need anything else call Fah first. Okay.”

“You got it Fah. Ay, can you throw in a large box of chicken fried basil rice? Michael likes that shit.” I grinned at him.

He put one bony finger in the air. “No problem, after we load up…Fah fix it fresh for you. I told you anything you want, Fah can get.”

I pointed my own finger at him. “And that’s why I fuck with Fah.”

After several years of doing business my favorite crooked Thai restaurant owner still didn’t know my real name. And I doubt his government name was Fah either. He never asked questions and I never asked questions. I ordered, he filled the order, and I paid…simple. I preferred to deal with people who embraced their criminal side. I liked good people at heart, but who sometimes did so-called bad things…just like me.

Jax paced the floor of his down town L.A. suite with an obvious attitude. His intense beady eyes narrowed and his deep chocolate face hardened with each heavy foot step he took.

“Who the fuck is this nigga Tyce? And why did Mack jus’ call me about this muthafucka?” He stopped abruptly. “He asked me was I sure I could handle the job. Mack never asked me that shit before! We’ve done six runs for Mack and not once has he ever got shaky on me. But now that this nigga
named Tyce is on the same ticket as us he gettin’ all paranoid and shit! Who the fuck is he?!” Jax pointed a thick finger at Bishop.

His right hand man looked up from his comfortable seat in the oversize
d recliner.

I don’t know boss. I mean, I heard his name before, but that’s about it.” He shrugged his muscular shoulders.

“What about you?” He stare
d at the only woman in the lavish room. “Have you heard of him?”

Rachael twisted a lock of her long red hair around her finger. “Give me a sec. I’ll start digging and see what I find out. If he’s local, and I think he is…it shouldn’t be that hard.” She blinked her icy blue eyes slowly.

Jax exhaled deeply. “Alright, but I don’t wanna hear these same empty ass answers tomorrow. In 24 hours I wanna know everything about him, and I mean everything. I want a location, friends, relatives, criminal record, associates, the jobs he pulled off, and who’s in his crew cuz I know the nigga don’t work by his fuckin’ self.”

Rachael nodded her head slowly. Unlike her boss, it wasn’t her style to get so amped
up. To her, Tyce was just another chump in a long list of chumps she had encountered being in their line of work. She was confident that he wouldn’t pose a problem just like the other dozen or so fake thugs that came before him.

“I got it. I’ll get started right away.” She stood up casually.

“Good, we’ll meet back here tomorrow evening. Now get the hell out and tell the bitch waiting in the hallway to come in.” Jax adjusted his dick through his jeans.

Bis
hop stood up and followed Rachael as she walked toward the door. Jax turned his back on the two of them and headed for the round table in the corner. He heard the door open, he heard Rachael tell the woman to come in, but he kept looking at the top of the glossy wood table. The door closed with a soft click before he heard a light voice address him.

Hey.” The woman walked into the quaint living area.

“Wasup, have a seat.”

He kept his back to her while he unzipped an overnight bag. The young lady sat in Bishop’s empty chair and crossed her long smooth brown legs at the knee. She wore a tight dress with a deep plunging neck line that dipped all the way to her pierced belly button. Her ample cleavage was in clear view as she put her purse next to her thick thigh.

“You mind if I smoke?”
She asked.

“Go ahead,
” Jax’s deep voice sounded.

He
finally turned around. His expression had changed from a look of frustration to one that was more relaxed. In the middle of his wide palm there was a little blue pill. In his other hand he held a full bottle of Jack Daniels with the top missing.

“Is that Viagra?” She pulled a cigarette from the half full pack in the side pocket of her purse.

“Yep.” Jax popped the pill in his mouth and washed it down with the whiskey. “I got the killer combo, so I can fuck all night. I got a lot of stress and a lot of bread, so you better cancel your other dick session’s tonight cuz I’ma get my monies worth.”

The woman blew smoke in the air and gave Jax a confused look.

“Killer combo?” She tilted her small head to the side and flipped her micro braids over her shoulder.

Jax smirked. “
Don’t tell me a hoe like you don’t know what the killer combo is. It’s a one two punch baby…coke and Viagra.” Jax took another long sip from his bottle.

“Oh shit, hell yeah. I jus’ ain
’t never heard anyone call it the “killer combo” before. I hope you got enough blow to share, cuz if you want me to go all night then I’ma need that shit.” The woman suddenly became more interested in the late night date.

Jax licked his dark thick lips as he happily dug into his back pocket and produced a sandwich baggie full of white powder.

“Is this enough?” He tilted his big head slightly.

“Oh yeah
fat daddy, that’ll do. I want you to sprinkle some on your finger tips and rub my clit. I want you to finger fuck me and numb my pussy up. That shit tingles so good when it’s in there.” She uncrossed her legs and took a drag from her cigarette.

“Only if you say pretty please.” Jax dangled the bag in the air.

The sexy vixen lowered her lust filled eyes and grinned.

“Pretty pleasssse…with a bitch named Cherry on top.”

Jax smiled sinfully. “Okay, I gotchu. Oh, it’s jus’ one more thing. I fuckin’ hate condoms.” He walked toward her.

“You don’t use protection?” The woman looked up at him
with an air of awe.

“My protection is that.” Jax pointed to a nickel silver gun next to the flat screen T.V. “I’m payin’ for pussy, so I wanna feel it.”

Jax was now directly in front of the attractive woman. The smoke from her cigarette wafted up toward his dark face as he looked down at her with those beady eyes. He gripped the bottle neck tightly in his fist.

“I don’t have shit, I’m clean. And if my dick starts leaking
after we fuck, then I’ll find you, kick you in your dirty pussy, and shoot you in the back of the head. So are you clean?”

“Yes.” She said
cautiously.

Alright then…let’s get high and fuck.”

~Change Up

Angelique showing up at Sabrina’s house like that surprised me a bit. I thought for sure it was a dead issue when she tu
rned me down flat. Then again, I’d learned not to put anything past anybody; especially when it came to my ex woman. However, I still wanted an explanation, and I planned on getting it.
