Kasa bit down on her lower lip. She lifted her hands to her head and raked them through her hair. Closer and closer. She clenched the muscles in her vagina, trying to reach that precious peak. That shattering moment when she toppled over…

“You like having my dick between your legs, do you?”
Slade growled. The telepathic link stirred a different sensual tension within her mind, locking her spirit down with his. His voice was raspy with the rise of arousal and did wonders to levitate her to a higher degree of arousal.

Yesss
,” she hissed, hooking her heels around his waist. The motion crushed her to him. The guided up-and-down of his cock halted. His sac slapped her rear. “Make me come, Slade.”

“I’ll give you pleasure for nights to come. Micah and I will drown you in orgasmic delight, doll.”
He grabbed her hips and quickened his movements.

But only a good little wolf will earn herself the rewards.”

Kasa’s breaths turned to ragged gasps. The unbearable tension in her womb began to burst at the seams. She reached down and grasped Slade’s hands. She needed grounding. Sparks began to erupt against the back of her eyelids.

Then, he paused. She cried out and tried to buck her hips. He held her steady.

“You want me to finish you off? Then tell me you won’t do anything as foolish as the stunt you pulled tonight again.”

Kasa opened her eyes. The passion flared in his dark gaze. A fine hint of strain stiffened his jaw.

“You’re right at the edge. I can feel you pulsing. I can sense it in your spirit. The wolf in you wants that release,” he said, barely above a whisper. Yes, she was, and it was driving her mad! “Just say it. You won’t do anything so foolish again. End this torment for us both.”

“That’s…a lot to…ask,” she whined between gasps. If he didn’t do something soon—
like now
—she’d do it herself. Another try at bucking only proved he had her solidly pinned at the hips.

“Mates ask quite a lot when they’re trying to protect their interests.” Slade’s lips grew taut. “Kasa, you are a white and we’re going to protect you,”

“Dammit, Slade!” Kasa moved her hand away from his. Her entire body thrummed. Her nerves were melting away in this mind-numbing limbo. “Fine! I agree.”

“Good.”

Slade pistoned his hips against her. The ridged length of his dick didn’t leave a moment’s time for her to think. The minute he allowed her body to settle from the cliff’s edge succeeded in catapulting her straight back to the peak.

The rupture of pent-up tension created a tsunami of shattering pleasure. Kasa cried out as each pulsing sensation exploded through her, the force of her orgasm all-encompassing. Her back bowed over the table, milking every delectable wave of release. She barely heard Slade’s feral groans as she shuddered through the riveting climax. Hot liquid sprayed over her belly and soaked through the bottom of her tank. His potent scent filled her nostrils, tangled with the musky air of her own arousal.

The waves began to subside. Her body tingled in the aftermath of her unusual sexual encounter with Slade. Feverish heat radiated off his skin, warming her legs as he continued to hold them. When she had enough strength to peel back her eyelids, she found herself staring straight up into a pair of very familiar—and very beautiful—pale blue eyes.

“Protect you, we will. Even if we have to protect you against yourself,” the newcomer said.

Eva stood in the center of a small chamber tucked deep inside her mountain hideaway. She surveyed the damage, acutely aware that nearly a dozen eyes were focused on her, anticipating her reaction. For starters, she was not happy. In fact, it was fair to say she was fucking pissed and desperate to mutilate whoever was responsible for this.

“Where’s Lilia?” she asked, careful to keep her voice steady. Rage pulsed against her skull. Tremors slid along her arms. She had to keep flexing her fingers to alleviate some of her restrained energy.

“She’s returning with the pack of hunters you sent out after the enemy,” one of the men informed her.

Eva nodded slowly, taking note of everything around her. The jagged walls of this outer tunnel still glistened with the sprays of fresh blood. Evidence of the mental breaking down of her captives lay in the deep gouges in the stone made by claws and the teeth marks in the wrought iron shackles and chains. A rapidly decomposing arm was wedged between the damp, pebbly ground and a crevice in the wall. The sight was nothing new, as many of her captives had gnawed off an arm or a leg in their desperate attempt for freedom.

Whether the freedom was from the cave or the regressing mental stability depended on her prospect.

With a sigh that masked her mounting frustration, Eva clapped her hands and turned to her pack. “Has anyone determined the scent of our little hero-wannabe?”

“Rogue communicated that he was on the tail of a rarity,” Cane said. Eva lifted a brow in a motion for him to continue. The broad brute merely shrugged his wide shoulders. “That was the last I heard from him.”

“A rarity?” Eva murmured. She took the time to observe each one of the six pack members as the term played in her mind. She only knew of one rarity. A rarity that killed two of her sisters and was quickly wrangling up strength in pack numbers.

Bustling noise erupted down the tunnel as she finished looking over her last man. This one had been her first conversion. Proof that she had the power to break wolves down and mentally rebuild them to do her bidding.

Her bidding would be to restore the Dark Moon’s place among the wolf communities and eliminate all white wolves.

For good.

Two of the men jerked apart and her youngest sister pushed through their wall of muscle. Lilia was petite and delicate-framed, and one could be easily fooled by the innocence that shimmered in her aqua eyes.

“We found Rogue,” Lilia said, brushing a chunk of blond hair from her eyes. “Someone, or some
ones
, took his head for a walk and left his body in the bushes. We tried tracing the scents, but lost the trail within a few feet. We spent over two hours searching for where the trail picked up, but crossed nothing.” She shrugged a shoulder beneath Eva’s simmering anger. “I’ve left a few men back there and told them to continue searching. Figured I’d return since I had no means of contacting you from such a distance.”

Eva took a deep breath, focusing on her sister. What she was hearing simply wasn’t possible. If wolves were responsible for this latest break-in, there would be a scent trail. Somewhere.

She had no reason to believe this wasn’t the doings of the same group who’d been breaking into her holding cells while her captives were in transit. Unfortunately, those responsible never left a live guard behind to answer any of her questions.

Her skin seethed against the cool dampness of the cave. The remnants of her dinner churned in her roiling stomach. Rage throbbed from her toes straight to her head, causing her to see ribbons of red.

Her men waited, wolves caught in a cage with a very, very dangerous predator standing mere feet away. The cavernous space sizzled with the heightened tension and fed her tumultuous fury.

Lilia lifted one fine-sculpted brow. She placed her hands on her hips. Eva stepped closer to her sister.
Unleash the tension. Let it go for now.
She crossed her arms over her chest and dug her fingers into her biceps.

“I want the rest of this place secured,” Eva began. The aqua glow of her sister’s eyes flashed with a menacing darkness. She couldn’t help but give into a small, cold grin that caused the corner of her mouth to twitch. Turning her attention away from the small woman and to her men, she continued, “Bring the captives deeper into the cave. Those specimens that we were going to dispose of just received a pardon. You’ll chain the ruins along every corridor in this maze.”

“What good will that do?” Lilia asked. She motioned to the men behind her. “We’ve got plenty of muscle with the men of our pack. Place them on guard in turns.”

“No,” Eva snapped. The sharp dagger of rage speared up from the depth of her spirit. “They want to free
my
captives, let them take the bait. Let them be torn to shreds by those who’ve gone rabid.” She stopped inches from Lilia, who straightened her shoulders and lifted her chin. “I’m not playing games here. Laela might’ve played with her prey, but look where it got her. And Eliza was a fucking fool to think she could win over the heart of a white’s mate. I’m not forfeiting the years of preparation, years of converting our little pet wolves, under the assumption a white’s roaming
my
territory.”

Our
, sister,” Lilia said. A low grumble drew out the last sound. Eva’s fingers squeezed her arms, but her nerves registered no pain. She was too angry to care about her nails breaking flesh.

“You are the youngest of us all. This is
my
territory.
My
pack. You will obey
my
rules.” She dipped her head and burned her gaze into Lilia.
“I will not lose my last sister to those wretched whites, do you understand?”

“And you will not treat me like a foolish pup still suckling our mother for milk.”
Lilia snorted. “I’ll obey rules that don’t get another pack member mutilated.”

“Rogue went against my instructions,” Eva growled. Her wolf stirred, pacing anxiously in the face of a challenge. Lilia held her ground and her own wolfish attributes began to surface in the form of pointed teeth and sharpened nails. “Don’t think to do it, Lilia. I want blood this night, and I don’t care where it comes from.”

“You’ve no shortage of sources, dear sister. You’d have me fall at the hand of my own kin rather than a white?” Lilia’s cocky remark caused molten heat to surge through Eva’s body in the wake of her rage. Each breath she drew barely made it into her constricted lungs. Her heart hammered away, echoing against her ears. Her whole fucking body trembled. Lilia shrugged again and wisely took a step back. “Pity.”

“Get out of here, Lilia. Don’t you dare think to leave this cave, but get the fuck out of my face,” Eva warned. She didn’t dare move until her sister separated the wall of muscled men and disappeared into the dark tunnel. As the echo of her furious footsteps dwindled, Eva clawed through the dense haze in her mind.

She wanted to find who killed Rogue. She wanted to know who broke into her cave.

She wanted to know if the rumors were true.

If another white stalked her grounds, this one
would
die.

Chapter Four

Micah listened to the shower water spray over the tub. The wall between the small bedroom and the bathroom was thin, and he could hear every muttered curse, every grumbled question, every verbal response, most likely from a telepathic conversation Kasa was having with her brother. There was an awkward vibration that skirted his mind, making him aware of a communication line he couldn’t breach.

He was impressed, and quite taken. His mate was a spitfire. Not some docile were that wanted to be pampered. Having slipped quietly into the cabin to catch Slade driving her to climax had nearly caused his own release in the confines of his jeans. Hell, he wanted to play around a bit, take part in the games, but there were more pressing issues he needed to touch upon before either of them laid claim to their precious little mate. He had to maintain control.

First challenge would be taming the wild, voracious creature before she got herself killed.

The water shut off. Metal scraped metal, stinging his ears even at this distance. He snarled and moved to the other side of the bedroom. He’d gotten so caught up listening to her wash, imagining what she looked like entirely naked, that he’d forgotten why he came in here to begin with.

“Slade, you sleeping?”
he asked, keeping his tone soft. Though there was much to do, his brother needed the rest. The man’s pent-up arousal had nearly driven him mad. He barely slept more than a handful of hours over the course of four days. Ever since they hooked back on Kasa’s trail, they had pressed forward, seeking her out with the hopes of this very event becoming reality.
