Melody was rubbing her slightly protruding belly with slow caresses.

Jonathan J came and sprawled out beside her.  “My love, are you feeling okay?” he asked.

Turning to look into his beautiful blue eyes she shaded her own eyes with her hand and smiled back at him.  “I’m feeling absolutely wonderful, sweetheart!  Our sons are growing fast and they are both really healthy.  Our friends are around us and we have each other.  What more could we ask for?”

“Not a thing my heart.  I’m thankful everyday that I have you with me.  Even being able to make love to you every other day is great.  Now neither Jonathan nor I will die, without you.”

She sees him frown and waits for him to say more.

“Is he treating you good?  You know, like before I took you away?  Or is he acting different?” he wants to know.  He hopes she isn’t being hurt by his brother and getting any cold shoulder from him.  None of this was her fault, nor was it his or his brothers.

Melody tilts her head backwards and watches Jonathan playing beach volleyball with the kids in the compound.  Placing her hand on Jonathan J’s face she turns to face him and answers truthfully, “He treats me exactly the same, my beloved.  He’s asked me the same about you.  One woman couldn’t be more loved in any universe, than I am by you both.  I am so blessed.”

He leans in and kisses her sweetly before nibbling her lower lip and kisses her eyes and cheeks.   “I want you my wife, I want you right now.”

Being it was his night she knew he could wait, but he was building a hunger in her too.  Hearing a high squeal she looked to see Melissa jumping to hit the ball and all the young men watching her with obvious desire in their eyes.

“Jon, our baby is hoping to discover a Stirring and she and the other ladies want to invite about fifty new fellas over for a supper party this week.  Would you talk with your brother and let me know if I can tell them okay?”

Jon J looks over at his daughter and smiles.  “I know I don’t mind, so I’m guessing bro won’t mind.  But I’ll ask just to be safe.”

Melody gives him a sexy leer and says, “Now tonight, my love, I plan to try something different.  It involves ice cubes.  So don’t be too shocked, it’s something Mary was telling me about that she found in that Cosmopolitan magazine that
Elizabeth
likes to read.”

Jonathan J looks concerned and asks, “You’re not letting Melissa read such stuff are you?  She’s not a married woman yet!”

Melody rolls her eyes.  “Jon she’s eighteen and looks twenty-five, but I know she’s still eighteen.  Of course I don’t share everything with her.  But I will say her hormones are peeked and she is seriously needing to find her a mate.”

He nodded and relaxed a bit.  Leaning over her he kisses her belly and says hi to his son before he gets up to return to the volleyball game.

Melody had just laid back on her back enjoying the water washing over her when Jonathan lays down on his belly on the other side of her.  “How are you feeling my love?  Is our son giving you rest from his kicking?”

She smiles and admits, “Jon our baby boys are being nice to their mommy today.  Very little kicking do I feel today.  Though, I do enjoy it, knowing they are safe inside me and growing strong.”

He smiles and when the last wave leaves her he too kisses her stomach before he dives on her lips.  “My precious heart, I am missing you already.  Did our lovemaking this morning leave you desiring more of me or are you sated, my love?”

“Oh, sated, my heart.  I am very contented, you are a master after all, remember?” she teased with a little lie, though for a good reason.  She saw his eyes flickering jealously over to his brother with a snide smirk on his cute lips before he returned his gaze to hers.

“Jon, the girls are wanting a party this week.  There’s about fifty new men they hope Missy will look over, up close.  She’s searching for her Bonded mate and her hormones are peeked.  I wouldn’t tell them yes without asking you first,” she states as she trails a finger down the side of his arm.

“Did you ask him?” he inquired nodding his head toward Jonathan J.

“Just now.  He said he didn’t mind but that he would have to consult you on it before I was to proceed.”

With a pleased look he said with surprise, “He did, did he?  Well . . . perhaps I’ll just go ahead and tell you we don’t mind.  I want five more security men added though, for the party.”

“Jon, sweetie, will you see to the security?  I think Friday night about seven would be a good time for the party.  Maybe you guys could get together with Mark and David and do a little short show of songs using your fantastic voices,” she suggested with an added flutter of her eyelashes.

He threw his head back and laughed as he sat up beside her with his legs crossed.  “So we’re to be the entertainment for everyone as well as the hosts?”

She gave him a half smirky look that he adored while she admitted, “Yeah, well, just an hour of singing.  Beth said she’d join me singing a song or two as well.  Melissa is practicing, hoping to do a duo with me like you and David does.  She’s so talented, Jon, you’re going to be surprised.”

His eyes took on a serious expression while he stated, “Now Mel, I want you to promise me one thing.  You won’t wear the same outfits that you wore before on stage.  You’re pregnant and I don’t want any of those young men thinking they’re getting any kind of Stirring while watching you perform.  Okay?  This is to be Melissa’s coming out party, per say.  Let her shine.”

Melody was irked that he would even think of saying such a thing to her.  She sat up and gave him a real stern look.  “Now, Mr. Jonathan Jontu, do you think for one second that I would try and steal the show from my own daughter?”

She clambered rather clumsily to her feet while she swiped away at the sand still clinging to her skin.

“I didn’t mean it that way,” he tried to backtrack.

She tossed him a glare as she stomped her way toward the back patio.  Stopping to get her beach towel from one of the patio chairs, she muttered, “Steal the show from my own sweet child!  Huh!  I never!”

Jonathan trailed behind her, running his hand through his hair, trying to find a way to undo what his jealous mouth had said.  “Mel, my heart!  I just remember how when you’re on stage everyone can’t take their eyes off you.  You can’t help it, you’re just so danged sexy.”

His words did soothe her ruffled feathers, somewhat.  She slowly turned and looked up at him.  “Don’t you think that Melissa will have her own stage presence?  You haven’t seen her yet, Jon.  She’d amazing.  This is
her
time, I want it that way.”

He stopped beside her and took her in his arms as he kissed the top of her sea-salted head.  “Well, if she’s even half as good as her mom, I can’t wait to see her myself.  But don’t allow her to be too sensual, Mel.  She’s still a young lady and innocent in a million different ways.  I don’t want a killing scrape on our hands with the men here.”

Looking out at the surf she realized they’d drawn attention to themselves, as most eyes darted their way now and again.  To calm her daughter’s look of concern she grinned and waved at her and nodded a yes with her head.

Melissa grinned back and she called out across the volley ball netting, “So, Daddy J, I can have the party Friday night?”

He looks back at his wife standing with his brother, all too intimately, frowns then looks back at his daughter.  “Yes, sweetie, looks like it’s gonna happen.”

All the teams hooray until Jonathan starts to laugh at their enthusiasm.

CHAPTER 14  *  *

THE SURPRISE

Melody had released to the media upon her return to their joint beach home that she had been near a total emotional breakdown due to a medical illness, that had seriously affected her thinking and emotions, when she’d disappeared.

She had informed everyone, the FBI, etc that she’d hired her own security team to whisk her away from all the media and even her family.  She had at the time discovered she was dying of a rare disease and decided to be isolated from family and friends while she tried a new experimental treatment.  David and Elizabeth produced some very carefully created lab reports to back up her story, and proved how she was now fully recovered.

Jonathan’s identical twin, previously kept secret had discovered her location and the family had retrieved her just this past six weeks.

Melody still showed some abdominal swelling, residual reaction from her treatments, but all the swelling should be gone within three months.

Her fans were thrilled that she had returned and was being healed of the disease that had worried her so badly that she had left her family so they wouldn’t see her die.

So the story went, with various alterations, depending on who and what tabloid was telling the tale.  The first four weeks, they had been flooded with reporters, but kept them on the outside of their gates.

One story had it that she had fallen in love with Jonathan’s brother and had been whisked away by him.  Another that she had been held captive by a crazed fan and subjected to his unrelenting sexual deviations.  Melody laughed at that one most.  “Well, that was certainly true, to an extent,” she whispered to a grinning Jonathan J, when she first read it in the New York Times.

She was now able to tell the men apart, even though Jonathan had regained his weight and was actually building up a little more muscle mass, with his daily exercise routine.

David told her Jonathan had begun the exercises while she was gone.  He’d suggested it to his dad, as a mental diversion from missing her.  Jonathan had hoped that having a few more manly muscles on his frame might make his wife a little happier if they were ever able to find her.

Oddly, Melody couldn’t see much difference between the two men’s musculature once their shirts were off.  Seems they were both already pretty buff, in her unbiased opinion.

All she knew was that he and Jonathan J were looking even more buffed with each day that went by, and she was loving it.  She thought of her men as candy and sweet iced tea for the eyes, her eyes.

Jonathan J had a small wrinkle at the corner of his left eye.  Though he still was a man who looked around twenty-seven, extremely well built and perfect in about every way, as far as Melody was concerned, she’d finally spotted the wrinkle a few weeks ago and was thrilled about it.  Now she could easily tell them apart up close.

She didn’t dare tell them how she knew, it was her secret.  The men thought it was only reasonable for her to discern between them, after all, they said, they were different men, no matter what they looked like!

Melissa could tell too, though she admitted to her mom it was just an innate feeling and nothing that she saw with her eyes.

That Friday night brought a houseful of excited male guests and a few married couples arriving for the first party thrown there in over three years.  Most of those arriving were unbonded males from H’traeian mixed families.  Some only recently arrived, their mom’s having missed Earth so badly their dad’s agreed to return.  A few of the young men were from David’s business associates and one or two were non-alien men.

Instead of having an open air party that might attract undue and very unwanted attention, they limited it to their patio and the enlarged music/auditorium room where a medium sized stage had been built several years ago.
