Nathan cut him off. “I’ll be trading in this car and paying the rest in cash. No bargaining I just want to be out of here in 30 minutes.”

The salesman realizing the type of customer he was dealing with didn’t want to talk his way out of a sale. He just nodded. “Right this way sir.”

26minutes later Nathan was driving his new 2039 forest green Suburban XLS rugged edition towards the local auto world. Once there he parked in the handicapped space, got out and approached the sales desk. The lady behind the counter was about to say something about Nathan’s parking when he dropped a hundred dollar bill on the counter. “This is for you. I want five of those all terrain tires, put on those rims over there, aired up and thrown in the back of that Suburban.” Nathan handed over his keys and debit card that withdrew his recently transferred savings.

The lady smiled wide happy to please and said. “Right away sir.”

Nathan quickly put his hand over the money and the debit card. “Also I want the biggest carrier you have attached to the roof, the strongest tow cable and winch attached to the front. I’ll give you another 200.00 if you have me out of here in under an hour.”

Nathan moved his hand as the lady pushed her hair back, batted her eyes and flirted. “Yes Sir.”

After stopping by a small National Guard supply post and buying as many MRE’s that could fit in his overhead carrier Nathan headed for a federally licensed weapons and ammunitions dealer. In 2028 mass shootings, race riots due to police aggression, social programs and tax hikes led to many groups looking for a 2
nd
American revolution. After many small but violent demonstrations new tax and gun laws were introduced into the country. The new gun laws required all citizens to register their firearms, made open carry and concealed permits illegal nationwide. Sale of all “assault rifles” were banned. Pistols, shotguns and hunting rifles were allowed but were useless without the ammunition and only those people with a special license had access to ammunition. In truth most of the violent demonstrations and racially perceived murders were carefully choreographed by the Illuminati to vilify conservative American gun owners, even many of the tragic mass shootings were carefully orchestrated lies with activist actors and patsies. The Illuminati has long tried to eliminate the 2
nd
amendment knowing the New World Order would never exist as long as Americans were armed. Illegal firearms are a big problem and always will be, now though it is our patriots that are called criminals. Even the influx of illegal weapons doesn’t matter, the new laws have made ammunition very hard to come by and a special task force of the ATF is dedicated entirely to stop people who manufacture their own. The first few years of the new firearms laws brought many debates and court cases. By the time the subject made it to the Supreme Court the media was reporting daily how the amount of murders, cop killings, and accidental deaths by firearms had fallen so much that most were willing to give up there 2
nd
amendment rights for the peace the law helped to provide. Unfortunately those number and statistics were false; gun crimes against the regular working class escalated to all new highs most criminals knowing people couldn’t defend themselves, more Illuminati manipulation.

Nathan entered the store after flashing his badge to a security camera outside. An older man with wispy gray hair and an apparent limp approached the other side of the counter. “Wachya lookin for?”

Nathan relaxed as much as possible then asked. “How much can I buy? Rifles, pistols, and ammo.”

The elderly man eyed Nathan suspiciously. “Well seeing as you’re a federal agent and all, you can buy up to 500 rounds and two handguns…unless you got a firearms instructors permit then you can add on another 5000 rounds and a couple of shotguns. As for rifles, those are special order only.”

Nathan’s savings account was slowly dwindling away as he laid ten thousand dollars on the counter and spread it for the man to see, it didn’t matter soon money would have no use, better to spend it now in preparation. “This is yours. I’m not a federal agent right now and I have more cash if you let me see your personal stock.”

The old man looked at Nathan hard trying to read his stone visage. He then asked bluntly. “Why?” Nathan thought of how best to respond and then said plainly. “To defend our country.”

After a long pause the old man came to the conclusion that this was not a setup he then turned and limped to the service door. Before entering he turned and addressed Nathan. “Well, you coming?” Nathan followed the old man to a lounge area with a couch and TV. The old man moved towards the stand that held the TV. “Well I’m too old to be moving this all by my lonesome.” Nathan got the hint and assisted the man in moving the stand to reveal a hatch on the floor. The old man opened the hatch and began climbing down a wooden ladder that creaked almost as much as he did. Nathan began descending wondering if the creaking ladder would support his 240 pound frame. Once on the ground the old man flipped a switch, once the light turned on Nathan realized he came to the right place. The basement looked like the illegal arms evidence room at Agency headquarters. The old man smiled as he looked at Nathan’s expression. “So young-un what you need?” Nathan looked around the basement like a kid in a toy shop . “A bigger truck.”

Nathan loaded two 5-foot long wooden chests into the back of his Suburban. One was almost completely loaded with ammo, the other with several assault rifles, pistols and other high powered arms to include 3 shotguns, a couple of sniper rifles with scopes, 3 fully automatic pistols, 8 Glocks of multiple caliber, a Desert Eagle with laser sight, 3 M55 A6 rifles with launcher and a few more toys for Nathan to play with.

As Nathan finished the last load he noticed a long black case in the back of the suv. Nathan opened the bag to reveal some cleaning gear for the weapons and a hunting bow. The old man approached.

“You’ve more than paid for some cleaning gear and I don’t need that bow anymore.”

Nathan turned and faced the old man, sincerely grateful. “Thank you sir.”

The old man nodded then asked. “Do you mind tellin me whatcha really need all this for?”

Nathan gave the old man a look of foreboding. “You know why gun shop owners keep their secret stash?” The old man looked at Nathan and shrugged.

Nathan answered for him. “Just in case…just in case the day comes when anarchy reigns and they need it…Well that day is near, I suggest you get yourself and your family and run for the woods.”

The old man nodded at Nathan’s reasoning he then huffed and said. “Ain’t got no family left cept my daughter in Colorado and I ain’t particularly one fer running.” The man lightly patted his leg.

Nathan nodded solemnly, wondering how long this man’s been alone. “Thank you again sir and whatever you do don’t trust what they tell you.” Nathan turned, hopped in the Suburban and sped off before the old man could ask who “they” were. Nathan hit the road headed for D.C. memorial, Kayla’s work. He pleaded with God the whole way there. “Please let her listen.”

“Ok D, I like the new tires, the tow cable thingy is a little redneck but ok now were buying clothes from a military supply store. What’s going on?”

Darion continued to push his cart through the store picking up the items his brother had told him to, as well as a few other items he thought might be useful. He told Jason. “Nathan will explain when he gets here, that’s all I can tell you.”

Jason pressed. “Come on man, your stocking up like it’s the end of the world or something and you…” Darion stopped and gave Jason a hard stare, Jason’s eyes got wide. “What did your brother tell you?!? D you have to…”

Darion grabbed Jason’s shoulder and pulled him close, his eyes got wide as he spoke.

“Lower your voice, if someone thinks…” Darion softened his tone. “Jason, the world is about to change…that’s all I can say. I need you to trust me. Nate will explain when he gets here but right now I need your help.”

Jason paused for a long moment thinking of all the possible things that could be happening, he then nodded with a new found resolve. “Alright, what else do we need?”

There were few things that Nathan Turner was afraid of; telling Kayla what he planned on telling her today petrified him. Nathan pulled into the hospitals parking garage then headed straight for floor six, ICU recovery ward. Nathan moved through the halls with purpose flashing his badge where he had to, till he came to a hallway where Nurse Kayla Malendez was standing talking to an elderly woman who was rolling an IV unit next to her. Nathan approached as calmly as possible. “Baby, we need to go.”

Kayla looked up surprised to see Nathan at her job. “Well hello Agent Turner, good to see you again.” She then addressed the elderly lady. “Mrs. Miller this is the man I’m always telling you about.”

Mrs. Miller spoke in an old raspy voice. “He’d be cuter if he would smile.”

Kayla nodded. “Yea, he doesn’t smile much when he’s in that suit.”

Nathan reiterated his statement. “Kayla we need to leave. “Kayla cocked her head as she spoke. “If this is some way of proposing you’re going about it all wrong. What happened to the knight in shining armor and all that stuff?”

Nathan took a deep breath. “Baby listen to me, this is an emergency…we need to leave now.”

At that moment Kayla realized Nathan was serious. “Babe what’s wrong?”

Nathan was in total situational awareness mode and was constantly checking exits and trying to back himself to a wall to get a view of his surroundings. “I can’t explain here.”

“Ok let’s go outside.” Kayla waved to another nurse. “Hey Tonya, can you take care of Mrs. Miller for me.”

Nathan spoke. “No, not here. We need to go home and talk; I’ve got something I need to tell you.”

Kayla pulled into the driveway next to Nathan’s new Suburban wondering what happened to the Charger. Kayla was hoping this was all just some elaborate setup for a proposal but Nathan’s earlier tone told her different. As she walked through the front door she saw Nathan standing in the den. He motioned towards her. “Please, sit down.”

Kayla moved to Nathan and wrapped her arms around him tears rimming her eyes. “Baby what’s wrong?”

Nathan moved Kayla and himself to sit down. The cold of the couch's leather chilled the back of Kayla’s legs, but it was not nearly as chilling as her man’s demeanor. Nathan let go of Kayla and bent over putting his elbows on his knees with his head in his hands. After a moment Nathan looked straight ahead then turned to Kayla.

“You probably won’t believe what I’m about to tell you.”

Part 2

Chapter 5: Revelations

“Report.” The Prince addressed the large mulatto gentleman, a member of his cabinet, only the 3
rd
man not of European heritage to ever be “Illuminated.” Gordon Milot answered his leader.

“Things are going well my Prince.”

The Prince eyed Milot then said. “I have received reports that Volkov has not yet initiated Russian operations. Is this correct?”

Milot responded. “I had hoped to take care of the situation before you were informed sir. He is experiencing difficulty with his higher leadership my Lord.”

The Prince let out a low growl. “Then obviously I should have picked a more competent member to ensure that Russia falls into line.”

Milot lowered his head, ashamed that he was not able to correct the situation sooner. “I’ll take care of it my lord.”

The Prince was not known for his mercy, hence Milot’s concern. The Prince smiled. “I’ll take care of it my friend. All you need do is to report that I am pleased.” Milot nodded. The Prince released him to his duties. “You may go.” Milot knew what the Prince meant, and all the riches in the world could not have convinced him to switch places with Volkov.

Milot bowed. “Good day my Prince.” He then left as quickly and calmly as he could.

After a moment the Prince summoned his shadow, who had unknowingly to Milot been standing just a few feet away the whole time. “Deshad.” The man from the shadows stepped forward.

“Is your replacement ready?”

Not only was Deshad the Princes bodyguard, but he was also one of the best assassins in the world. Deshad had killed many but was given his name after only his first kill. His master said he moved like a deadly shadow….De-shad.

Deshad answered the Princes question. “He can be here within the hour my Lord.”

The Prince nodded. “Very well…I assume you know your objective?”

Deshad nodded. “To ensure Russia conforms to the new order.” Which translated very badly for Volkov. The Prince smiled. “Exactly, you may leave as soon as your replacement arrives.”

The replacement the Prince and Deshad were discussing was another assassin that resembled Deshad's height and build. Although the replacement skills were no match for Deshad's no one could tell the difference, and since Deshad always wore a low cowl, no one knew whether the shadow behind the Prince was him or the imposter. Either way no one would take the chance. Deshad was known as a very effective killer that showed no mercy, he was sometimes known to toy with his prey, by whispering his true name in their ear just before he ended their life. Only the Prince knew Deshad's true name and lineage. The dying expressions of surprise as Deshad dealt the killing blow brought him great pleasure.
