“You seem like a busy
man. Do you get to do this often?” she asked.

“Do what?” I replied,
really not sure what she was implying.

“Have a queen prepare a
home cooked meal.” Arrogance was in her tone. A sexy arrogance, though.

I smiled. “Not that
often.”

“Hmm, so where’s Mrs.
Spade?”

“There is no Mrs.
Spade,” I said. “I know you’ve been divorced for a while, but I know there’s
somebody. Where’s
he?

“There is no ‘he.’ I
have friends but no one special.” She smiled.

We chatted a little
longer. She was even more intelligent and interesting than I assumed. We talked
about everything from our favorite dishes to investment opportunities. Twenty
minutes later we were in her bedroom.

We undressed each
other, kissing slow and methodical like we were life-long lovers. Her level of
maturity showed in the bed. I let her take control initially. She liked kissing
because she acted like she couldn’t get enough of my tongue. Eventually she
kissed my chest, laying over top of me so my dick was poking her in her
stomach.

Then she went down to
my stomach, her tongue tasting my skin. Her mouth was warm. She let out a few
soft moans before she took me in her mouth.

“You taste good, baby,”
she said. She moved slowly up and down my shaft using just enough saliva. She
played with her clit, making herself cum as she sucked. “Talk dirty to me,
baby,” she said when she came up for air.

I grabbed the back of
her head and tried to lose my dick in her jaws. Shortly after  that I was
ready to taste her.

“Turn around,” I
demanded.

We sixty-nined it. Her
hairless, meaty pussy tasted good too. She moaned, I grunted, as Levert sang to
us. It was magic.

She got up off my face
and slipped down my torso. She eased down my dick, reverse cowgirl. She did her
thang
! And the view of her fit body and bouncing ass was just right!

Ahh,
shit,
baby,” she cried, slamming up and down on my dick. She felt good, her pussy
gripped me like a glove—it didn’t seem like a human being came out of here. I
gripped both of her ass cheeks and navigated the ride.

Then I flipped her on
her back. I went in hard. She screamed and made a lot of ugly faces.

“You like that, bitch?”
I asked.

“Yes, baby! I’m ‘bout …
‘bout to cum!” she cried.

“Yeah?” I was fucking
her like I was possessed.

“Oooh … shit !” She
came.

Then I turned her over
doggy style, made a slow entry, very slow. Teasing her. She looked back at my package
to watch what was bringing her so much pleasure. I sped up, beast-fucking her
again. I smacked her ass repetitiously, and fucked her like I had something to
prove.

CHAPTER 15

It was the next morning and the smell of
breakfast woke me up. Last night, me and Lisa showered after sex fell asleep. I
usually didn’t spend the night over women’s houses on the first night. Old
habit, I guess. But I had felt comfortable.

I went to her bathroom and
helped myself to a spare toothbrush. I got myself together and headed toward
the kitchen. No shirt, just pants and shoes.

Lisa stood over the
stove in a Victoria’s Secret embroidered apron number. It stopped right below
her ass, showing off her strong legs.

“Hey, sleepy,” she
shot.

“What’s up, baby?” I
sat down at the kitchen table, phone in hand.

I had a few missed
calls from OG Casa, Nicole, and Duece. I planned on calling them later. I
enjoyed my night with Lisa and it looked like it was going to be a good morning
also. Had to enjoy this moment of serenity.

“I’m fixing you
pancakes, turkey bacon, and eggs,” she said.

Looking at the food and
her amazing frame, I replied, “I see.”

“It’ll be ready in a
minute. Can you get the orange juice out the fridge?”

I got the juice out,
grabbed a couple glasses too. As we ate, we engaged in small talk. Then the
conversation got interesting. She admitted to seeing me prior to the Verizon
run-in. She told me that the beauty salon she owned was the same one Sonya
worked at. She saw me pick Sonya up a few times, and she told me somebody else
picked her up too. That “somebody” drove a black suburban.

Duece,
I thought.

Lisa said Sonya didn’t
deserve a nigga like me. According to her, Sonya had loose lips, bragging about
her control over me. Which was bullshit.

I had mixed feelings at
the moment. I understood Lisa going after what she wanted; I even admired
it.  But I also felt vulnerable, not knowing what business of mine Sonya
may have put out there.

But for some odd reason
I felt like I could trust Lisa. I filled her in on a fraction of the recent
events. I told her to keep her eyes and ears open. She was more than willing.
Shortly after, I left with a promise to call her soon.

I was pulling up to my house thirty minutes
later. I noticed two Mexicans sitting a few houses down, in a gray Cadillac
with light tints. I opened my garage and pulled in.

When I got in the house
I went straight to the window. The ‘Lac had Arizona plates on it. I noticed Ace
was gone too. I watched the idle Cadillac for about five minutes. They just sat
there. I left the window and returned OG Casa’s call.

“Spade, what’s goin’
on?” he answered.

“Tryna figure it out.”

“I’m just letting you
know Duece has been lookin’ at some houses.”

Code for:
Deuce has
been looking for customers to sell some bricks to.

“Ah yeah?” I was
pissed.

“Be meticulous wit’
it,” he said, then hung up. I hated when he did that shit.

I had a strong feeling
Duece hit my safe. I had to be sure before I acted.  I went and looked out
my window again.

The ‘Lac was gone.

I had a lot of shit to
square off. Find out who was behind taking my bricks, find somebody
with
some bricks on deck,
and
a new runner. I had to get that bitch Tamika
off my heels. Maria’s pops wanted me knocked …

Too much was going on.

***

Casey wanted me to meet her at The
Cheese Cake Factory. I had to run to Macy’s in Independence first. Some new
Coogi had hit the racks and I had to have it.

Only in the store about
twenty minutes, I already had what I wanted in hand.

“Did you get my
message?”

I turned around and it
was Tamika. She had a funny ass smirk on her face. I felt like slapping this
bitch for keying my truck.

“What the fuck you
doin’, bitch? Followin’ me?”

“As a matter of fact, I
am.” She smiled.

I headed toward the
cashier.

“Don’t walk away from
me, Spade!”

Customers in the store
started looking at her. Then at me. I kept walking. Lucky for me, a lane was
open. I made it to the cashier.

“Will this be all sir?”
the feminine male asked.

“Yeah, man.”

“Pussy, you can’t run
from this.” Tamika got in my face. I shoved her ass back. “Oh, so you gon’ hit
me?”

The cashier told me my
price nervously. I handed him eleven hundred and grabbed my bags and left,
leaving the receipt and the change.

That bitch followed me
out. She didn’t even buy shit. She had to be nuts, I thought, as she trailed
behind me in the parking lot.

“Baby, I’m sorry for
causin’ a scene in there. Please forgive me.”

We were by my truck.
She was a different person then. She had to be bipolar.

“You good?” I said. I
decided to take a subtle approach.

She smiled, forced a
hug and kissed my cheek. Then, oddly, she turned and ran to her car. “Bye,
baby!” she yelled as she trucked it the other way.

“That’s all you
eatin’?” I asked Casey.

“Yes. Thank you,” she
said sarcastically.

“A’ight, lil’ mama. I
was just askin’.”

“So, did you find out
anything?”

My phone rang. “Not
yet, hold up,” I said, putting the cell to my ear. “What’s good?”

“I got a room at the
Red Roof Inn on Noland. Meet me there later; I’ll tell you everything,” Nicole
said.

“A’ight.” I hung up on
her.

“Who was that?” Casey
was slightly irritated.

“Nobody. So, how’s the
restaurant comin’?”

“It’s doin’ okay. The
profit margin could be better. But it’s cool.”

As we talked, Casey had
a few emotional moments, but the dinner was cool. We exited the spot
hand-in-hand, heading to our cars, which were parked next to each other. I
loved Casey. We had history.

When we made it to our
cars, our happy faces turned into angry faces. All four of my tires were flat.
And another message was written in my paint—keyed in, I should say. It read:
“Tamika.” I looked around for the red Charger. I didn’t see one.

“That bitch Tamika did
this?” Casey asked.

“Dumb ass bitch,” I
thought out loud.

“Don’t worry, baby.
I’ll have it towed to my uncle’s shop and I’ll take you to Enterprise to get a
rental.” She rubbed my back.

“I’ma kill that bitch.”

“Don’t trip, baby. I
got you.”

***

An hour and a half later I was in a Chrysler
300M. Casey said her uncle would be done with my truck by tomorrow. I rented
the 300 for two weeks anyway. I felt secure in something different.

When I talked to Ace
while I was at Enterprise, he said him and his chick were out shopping. They
were also stepping out later. It felt like Ace was the only person I could
trust at this moment in my life. My young nigga.

I called Nicole and she
was already at Red Roof Inn. I told her I’d be there shortly. On the way there
I saw a car just like Sonya’s. Same paint as my truck, but it had rims and
tinted windows on it.
Couldn’t have been her,
I thought.

I pulled up to the Red
Roof and parked in front of the room Nicole said she was in.

“New car?” She opened
the door.

“Somethin’ like that.”
I walked past her and entered the room. She shut the door. “Why you got this
room?” I took a seat in the chair by the window.

“Needed to be alone.
Sonya’s on some different shit.” Nicole sat on the bed and fired up a backwood.
She went right in.

She told me Sonya and
Duece had been fucking with each other for seven years. They met two years
before I was released. She told me she knew for a fact that Duece intentionally
hooked me and Sonya up. He knew my type. I still doubted what she was saying.
She tried to pass the “wood,” but I declined.

Nicole knew all about
my case. When I was seventeen, a situation near Central High School I was
involved in got out of hand, and before I knew it I was leaving a shoot-out.
Speeding as I left the scene, I smacked a car—I tried to swerve but it was too
late—on 27
th
and Indiana. I killed the passenger of the vehicle I
hit, left the scene on foot and got rid of the gun. I ran all the way to my
homeboy’s house on 24
th
and Brighton. Nicole told me the innocent
passenger was Duece’s step-brother. I never knew; Nicole did. I felt like
slapping this bitch.

Apparently Duece had a
hidden agenda. It turns out him and this mysterious brother of his were quite
close. She told me Sonya told her that Duece knew I would get out and bubble.
He wanted to keep me close,
and
in the dark. Sonya was his pawn, not my
bitch.

I wanted to kill Sonya,
Duece, and Nicole. But there was more.

“Duece hit yo safe,”
Nicole said. “I know it for a fact. I was in on the overall scheme at first,
but once I got to know you, I fell back.”

She went on to tell me
that Sonya and Duece had been off that “soft.” Getting their nose dirty. They
came up with a plan to fake an abduction and have me pay a ransom for Sonya. But
Duece was falling off so he hit my safe. Supposedly, Duece paid some niggas to
kill Ace but they failed. She even said Duece had a plan for my permanent
demise.

Death was in Duece’s
future for sure.

“Where’s Sonya at?” I
asked her.

“I don’t know. But Sonya
got her car out the paint shop, and she put some rims on it.”

“Why you tellin’ me
this shit?” I asked, trying to keep my emotions in check.

“I’m not scandalous,
Spade. And I like you.”

“Is that right?”
