Au Chanté was the crème de la crème of restaurants in the West End of the city. I have never been there myself but I had heard that it was worth its pricelist and its pricelist was not cheap.

I tried to sound as composed as I could, “Sure see you there at seven.”

As I hung up the phone, I thought, what was it about this man that made me feel like a puddle of goop? The sex was aaammmaaazzziiing, but there was something more to Ethan. I may be ready now to hear what he had to say but I wasn’t going to make it easy for him.

Then the thought hit me, “Fuck, what the hell am I going to wear?”

I rummaged through my closet for the perfect dress that would knock Ethan straight out of the park. It had to be full of awesomeness! Sadly, I had nothing in my closet that came even close. He had seen me in all the best ones that I owned; my little black dress, the purple number, the red thingy, and the blue frock. “Shit. Think, Emily. Think.”

I flung myself onto my bed and did the most logical thing that I could think of at that moment. I stared at the ceiling to find an answer to my epic problem. I heard the ticking of the clock getting louder and louder as the thoughts in my head slowed to almost a stop. Then...“YES! Abso-freaking-lutely!”

I dashed downstairs, jumped into my car and drove off like a crazy woman. I opened the shop and ran to the wardrobe behind my workstation. There it was...the perfect dress. I had put everything into creating a white dress fit for a goddess and all for nothing. I received no acknowledgement for my efforts. “It’s payback time.” I declared to the dress, hanging there in all its splendor.

Luckily, the client of the dress and I were the same size so the fit was like a glove. “Thank you, thank you, oh so wise and all knowing ceiling.”

I went to bed early to get a full night’s rest. I needed to look flawless tomorrow when I walked into Au Chanté. I was now fully armed and ready for battle with, Mr. Ethan Sterling.

I felt unusually calm and started to slowly drift off to sleep but my heart still had one burning question. If Ethan could hide this from me then what else could he be hiding?

I guess the answer to that question is one that I would soon find out.
