Arriving at the mall, my first stop was the True Religion store. I picked up Trey and little Trey matching outfits. Then I went and got little Trey and the twins some clothes from the Children’s Place before heading back to the house. I arrived to find Trey looking stressed and I handed him the clothes for little Trey. I went and put the now sleeping twins in their cribs. I headed over to Nine’s room but he wasn’t there, so I went to visit Shy in the hospital. She had woken up late last night.

Trey:

I could kill that bitch with my bare hands; I couldn’t wait to find TaKiera so I could kill her. Who the fuck would leave their five-year-old son in the house by himself? I was beyond pissed. When I saw him in Jordyn’s arms I knew she had gone to the apartment to try to kill TaKiera but was unsuccessful at doing so. After bathing my son and cooking him a nice home-cooked meal, we sat on the couch and watched movies, making sure we weren’t too loud to wake the twins. I wanted to know what really happened but I didn’t want to push him. I looked at him and he was too busy laughing at the movie to notice me staring.

“Are those my sisters?” he asked me, referring to the twins.

“Yes, they’re your sisters.”

“Mommy told me that they weren’t my sisters and that I didn’t have to do anything for them unless I wanted to.” I nodded my head at the statement. I knew her dumbass would say some stupid shit as always.

“Where did your mommy go?”

“She told me to stay in the house. She said she was going to the store, but she never came back. I watched her get in the car with some man. Daddy, is she going to come back for me? I haven’t seen her in two weeks.” I rubbed my hand over my face and wanted to scream. She’d been gone for two fucking weeks; that means he was by himself for two weeks. Kenya’s cries broke me out of my thoughts. Going to the room to check on her I fed her a bottle and brought her into the living room. Little Trey’s eyes grew big at the sight of Kenya. She smiled at him while in my arms.

“Daddy, can I hold her?” I nodded and let him hold his little sister.

“Make sure you support her head, Tre.”

Shyla:

Waking up to see a bunch of doctors around me, I could remember everything that had happened to me two weeks ago. I was ready to go kill everyone that was a part of it. I watched as Jordyn walked in. She was by my side the whole time.

“When can I leave?”

“Soon Shy. As soon as you start walking around again.”

“Did you get her?”

“I got them both Shy; they can’t hurt you ever again. I’m so sorry that I put you in this position. Shy, I was supposed to protect you and I didn’t. I failed you as a best friend by letting my problems roll over to you, I’m sorry, Shy,” she said with tears rolling down her face. I knew she would blame herself, but she was in the hospital when it happened; they actually snatched me when I was on my way to go see her. It hurt me to see her this way but I didn’t have anything to say about the situation. She handled everyone who needed to get handled. We both looked up at the door to see Jayden standing there with flowers. She gave me a hug and said she would see me later, I guess she still wasn’t talking to Jayden. He sat down in the chair Jordyn was just sitting in.

“I guess y’all still not talking, huh?” I said, noticing that my voice was a little more raspy than usual.

“Nope, she still mad at me for whatever reason. I don’t care, though.” I smirked at him.

“It’s no secret you was wrong for how you spoke to her, so if she not talking to you who fault is that? We’re missing our spring semester trying to fix some bullshit that your mother started. She made sacrifices to be here. If we didn’t have the credits from the summer semester we would be screwed right now,” I said, trying to get the bigger picture. His phone rang and he looked at me. I already knew it was his girl.

“Hello…Alright, what hospital you at?…I’m on my way right now,” he said. I guess his bitch finally went into labor.

“I have to go, Shy, but I’ll be back later.”

Chapter 25:

Waking up I could smell bacon and eggs cooking. Walking into the living room, I saw Shyla and little Trey sitting on the couch. They were watching “Frozen” for the thousandth time.

“Happy birthday, Jordyn!” little Trey said as he ran over and gave me a hug. I had forgotten all about my birthday with all the drama going on around me.

“Happy birthday, sis!” Shyla and Nine both said at the same time.

“Thank you, guys, but where’s the food at?” They laughed as we headed over to the table. Trey walked out holding my plate while everyone else served themselves.

“Happy birthday, baby,” he said, leaning over to give me a kiss. For the past month our relationship had been better than ever. I was actually happy this time and could feel the love from him. Digging into my plate, it was the best meal I think he’d ever made. I bit into a something that nearly broke my teeth. Pulling it out of my mouth, I looked down and in front of me was 25-carat diamond ring. Looking up to see Trey by my chair on one knee, my heart dropped.

“Jordyn, through all these ups and downs you still managed to find the good in me. Baby, will you marry me?” I nodded my head up and down as the tears fell down my face.

“Yes, I will marry you, Trey!” I said, giving him a kiss. I knew deep down inside I had found the other half to me. Shyla and I excused ourselves and got dressed. We were supposed to go to the mall with Kayden. We were having a girl’s day. Unfortunately Nicole, Natalia, and Kathy had all gone back to Miami. I honestly missed going to school but I had to deal with this first although I was definitely going back to Miami and finishing my degree. I was determined to do so. While getting dressed I noticed tickets to Costa Rica sitting on the dresser. I tried my best not to scream because the twins were still sleeping. I had never been out of the country and I couldn’t have been happier. Running out of the room, I saw Kayden, Shyla, Trey, and Nine standing there with smiles on their face.

“Happy birthday, fiancée,” Trey said. He was so happy.

“These tickets say today. I haven’t even packed.” Trey laughed at me.

“Don’t worry about it, I handled everything already. But we need to get going now so we don’t miss our flight.” He said to everyone, I smiled he had all my love ones going on this trip with us.

Jayden:

After the arrival of Michael I knew he wasn’t mine. I looked at his facial features and he looked just like that nigga Bibby. I shook my head because she was adamant that he was mine, but he had none of my features. Our eyes weren’t the same and he didn’t have my dimples. As soon as I got the results back I wanted to slap her for continuing to lie to me. I didn’t even dwell on it. I was headed to Costa Rica with my sister and soon-to-be brother-in-law. I was hoping that I could talk to Jordyn and apologize since she was right and had told me the truth the entire time. I knew she killed my mother but I knew she had a reason to. I was going to tell Jordyn to do what she had to do to Treasure since she brought it on herself. I needed a drink and a Blunt. My thoughts were all over the place.

Pulling up to the airport, I got out and headed to the plane. Trey had the entire family going on this trip. I just hoped everything went the way he thought it would go seeing that Jordyn hadn’t said one word to Pops and Tinker since she got out of the hospital. I think she still felt like Tinker was the side bitch, and to tell you the truth, she was and would be for the rest of their relationship. Arriving at the boarding gate, I stopped the family. It was the first time that I seen Shyla since she’d gotten out of the hospital. She looked amazing. Her skin was glowing and she looked stunning. I’d never seen someone look so nice in a pair of sweatpants. I decided to sit next to her until it was time to board the flight. She didn’t even say anything to me. She was too busy in her phone texting.

“Who you texting? Your new nigga?” She smirked.

“You would like to know, right? Why don’t you go play with your nieces and leave me alone,” she said, getting up and moving next to Jordyn. Trey came and plopped down next to me with India in his arms.

“What’s going on, my nigga? Trey said.

“Ain’t shit. I was trying to get Shy back and become a power couple like you and Jordyn did but that ain’t happening!”

“You know Jordyn pissed at you for calling her a thot and shit. You need to apologize for real ‘cause you know what you were saying wasn’t true.” I nodded my head. It was crazy to have him putting me in my place.

“I feel you. I’m going to fix it. I just need to think about how I want to go about it without losing my life.” He laughed and nodded his head.

Shyla:

No matter how bad I wanted to forgive Jayden I couldn’t. He played me and I couldn’t deal with that. It was his mother’s fault I was raped and beaten for two days and was lying in a pool of my blood. I knew no matter what I wasn’t going to turn around and be with him. I couldn’t. I would feel like I was playing myself and at 19 I didn’t see the point of being committed. I had a life to live.

“We will now start boarding first class for flight 171!” the flight attendant said and we all got up and went to board the flight. Trey was holding India while Jordyn held Kenya and little Trey was holding my hand. We took our seats and I got stuck having Jayden sitting in the row with me. I sat little Trey in the middle of us as I looked out the window.

“I’m scared!” little Trey said to me and I told him to close his eyes and relax. After he did that he was fast to sleep until we landed at our destination. It was beautiful and I loved it already. We saw two drivers standing there; one with Trey’s last name on a board, the other one had Brown on it. I decided that I would ride with the Young family, ‘cause I wasn’t about to ride to the hotel with Jayden breathing down my back.

Arriving at our villa, it was beautiful. We had a view of the beach and the water was so clear that I could see through it. I was amazed. Yeah, I came from money but every time my parents went out of town I wasn’t invited or it was due to business. I looked around and picked my room on the farthest end of the villa for when the twins got to crying. I decided to change into my bathing suit and sit in the hot tub. I wasn’t in the mood to go view the city yet or unpack. I just wanted to relax and thankfully my best friend was thinking the same thing. We both sat down in the hot tub and just enjoyed the view.

“So how you feel about your mom and pops relationship?” She sucked her, teeth and rolled her eyes.

“She went back to being the side bitch. If I hadn’t got rid of Star for fucking with you she would still be the side bitch. I mean he was still married and he never filed for divorce.”

“Well, I think she his main chick now.”

“Even if she is, Shy, you lose them how you got them. She got him being his side bitch. Now he’s going to have to find one to refill that position, feel me? I just feel like my mom could do so much better but yet she’s going back to her comfort place.” I felt everything that she said, especially since I knew all the hurt she went through with her mother.

“Oh, you know Treasure had the baby and before you ask it wasn’t his.”

“How you know all of that?”

“Well Egypt got a little job as a nursing aid and he was her aid. But guess who she told Egypt was the father?”

“Who?”

“Bibby’s older brother, Kyrie, and she put him up on game about the killings. So I guess we going to have to deal with him when we get back, too.” She nodded her head and next thing I know she was asleep. I got out of the hot tub and bumped into Jayden.

“Tell Jordyn to come inside. Pops cooked dinner and the twins are hungry.” I went back out and woke Jordyn up.

“Your brother said come eat and the twins are hungry.” She sucked her teeth and climbed out of the hot tub. We walked in and everyone started singing “Happy Birthday.” She smiled as she blow out the candles on her cake. I gave Trey a high five. He had outdone himself today for real.

“I was about to curse you out for not feeding the twins,” she said seriously

“They fee and asleep, right along with little Trey. I got this,” he said to her. They were so cute. It was great to see my friend happy. It was like everyone was coupled up; Trey and Jordyn, Tinker and Big Jay, and Nine and Kayden. Nine and Kayden thought they were low but everyone knew what was going on between them. It was so visible. I just hoped Kayden didn’t get hurt since Nine did have a whole girlfriend in Houston. We sat around and ate dinner before all deciding to go to our rooms and go to sleep.

Around 1:00 a.m. I got out of bed to use the bathroom but instead I found myself standing in Jayden’s room. He rolled over and I took a deep breath before climbing in bed with him.

“I thought you were going to stand there forever. I missed you, Shy, for real.” I smiled and gave him a kiss.

“I missed you too but I needed time to make my own choices.” He nodded his head and fell back to sleep. I sighed. I hoped I made the right move by making us an us again. I closed my eyes and dreamed about the good and the bad times that we had in our short-lived relationship.

Chapter 26:

Waking up the next morning was exciting; I almost forgot I was out of the country. I walked over and checked on the twins to see that they weren’t there. I left the room to find them in the arms of their grandparents. I sucked my teeth at the sight and went to take a shower and get dressed. I threw on my black romper with my Michael Kors sandals. I applied my “Herione” lipstick from MAC and applied some eyeliner. I left my hair down for the first time in a while and then walked out. I ran into Shy and saw that she had on the same outfit. We shook our heads and laughed. I forgot that we had bought the outfit together. We were supposed to be going to San Jose to do some shopping and explore the island. I was excited. It was a new experience. Taking India out of my mother’s arms, I placed her in her car seat. Doing the same thing to my dad, I could tell he wasn’t feeling my attitude but I wasn’t feeling him being with my mother. I know most people dream for the day that their parents get together and become one big happy family but I didn’t want that. I wanted my mother to go find someone who wasn’t an ex-convict or an addict.
