“Yes. I was checking out the area and had de ja vu and when something told me to look there, I found it. But you wouldn't return my phone calls!”

Sebastian couldn't be blamed for not telling me about his dreams sooner because he knew that I would have thought that he is crazy! I guess that makes us both crazy since I feel like I am losing my mind.

Spending the rest of the day with Sebastian had been amazing. Even dinner is amazing, having all of my family here, together. Not something that has happened in a very long time. I examine the happy expressions on everyone's face as we sit down to eat our Thanksgiving dinner; there isn't much more that I could ask for.  Twirling my necklace between my fingers I remember Sebastian’s promise to Olivia and I, hoping that my intuition leads me in the right direction, towards him, because
this
is right where I want to be.

SIX

It’s become a habit to play with my necklace all of the time. Looking at it helps me think of Sebastian and how happy he’s made me and my little girl. The way he drives my mind crazy and my body wild is not like anything I’ve ever felt before. These past months have been the best months of our lives, and I can’t help but fall in love with him a little more each day. There has been no kidnapping or any night mares for Sebastian, as far as I know of. Just living life as usual and finally became an articling student for one of my city's biggest law firms. Tonight Sebastian is taking me out for dinner to celebrate, but the rest is a surprise. He is my love, my pain, only thing that I ever want. Who knew he would mean so much. I suppose everything happens for a reason.

My cell chimes in, “Destiny, it’s mom!”

I laugh. “I know it’s you. Are you and dad still taking Olivia for a bit tonight?”

“Yes, but Dad plans to take just us girls skating tomorrow, so can she spend the night?”

“Mom, are you and Dad seeing each other again?” I know she can sense my smile through the phone.

“I, uh, yes. But we are taking things slow, ya know, with my recovery and all. He’s been such a big help.”

There isn’t much more that I could honestly ask for. Everything in my life is going perfectly and the way that it should be. Maybe a little too perfect? My dad is one of my mom’s biggest supporters and has been there for her all of this time, taking her to and from her rehab center, attending appointments and trying to understand her relapses. He is the perfect man for her and needless to say, Paul hasn’t shown his face for quite some time. I also haven’t run into Drew either. Was he still watching me and I didn’t know? Why is he even on my mind? Sebastian won't like it if his name comes out of my mouth, even by accident.

Giving my head a shake, I focus back on the conversation, “Where has Dennis been?”

“I don’t know, sweetie, but he was here for a visit today and said that he has some business to attend to so the drop in was a very short one. He got a new acting job, I’m so proud of him!”

I know my brother, and that boy doesn’t know how to act! I had forgotten to bitch him out about setting Drew up to follow me. There’s clearly been more important things on my mind.

A knock sounded at my door after I let my mother off of the phone. Sebastian walks in after one knock just to let me know that it’s him. “You look beautiful, Mami. Do we have time for a quickie?” His cute dimples rise sweetly as he kisses my glossed lips.

“Ah I wish, but probably not. My parents will be here any minute to pick up Olivia.”

The time we have to satisfy our urge is regrettably not enough. After my parents and Olivia leave I become too eager for our surprise first date that Sebastian has planned for us. Grabbing my black leather jacket, I swing it on my arms and head out. I’m not usually one for being girly, but tonight is a special occasion that calls for a nice no-maintenance dress even on a cold night, and for easy access, of course. My red and black punk strapless dress with the Queen Anne neckline leaves my shoulders exposed to the crisp breeze blowing through this purely romantic starry sky, perfect for an end of Spring night. There is nothing that a jacket can’t fix. There is no way that I’m wearing heels though; those suckers can stay home! I know that this is going to be one long night. My wide feet are just fine with these black knee high boots that stay flat to the ground and match perfectly well with my outfit.

My hand fits perfectly snug into Sebastian’s. Our fingers entwine so well together like the perfect puzzle pieces.

Sebastian gleams like a high school boy who just lost his virginity. “Meet the other woman. She rides almost as good as you do; he introduces me to his Harley Davidson motorcycle.

I giggle, “The other woman, eh?”

He already has a black helmet picked out for me sitting on his seat beside a red rose lying across the seat. “A lovely rose for the love of my life.”

He steps in for us to share the sweet aroma of the fresh flower. “It’s beautiful, thank you.”

Sebastian’s abs harden against my snug hold around him while we ride. My head tilts back allowing the breeze to blow boundless through my long, wavy dark hair as my eyes close and take in every little bit of freedom for the moment. I’m already feeling relaxed and at peace.

We stop at the edge of an open grassy field. There’s no other people, just the sound of my heart beating hard against my chest. Our breath huffs into the air from such an accelerating ride. Small candles outline the path of red flower petals that trail off into the distance.

I look to Sebastian in astonishment, “Wow. Just wow. What is all of this?” He lays open my fingers and places the rose he had given me into my palm then closes my hand around its stem.

Sebastian’s quirky smile always gets me. “I want tonight to be special. Follow me.” He places our helmets on the bike then grabs my hand and guides me through the lit passage.

The sweet garden aroma leads the way to a picnic set for two on a blanket spread across the top of a hill. There Sebastian has an old silent movie already beginning to play on a screen, a horror movie whose title escapes my mind, but it was our first movie together. He times everything so perfectly, as perfect as I’m hoping our time together will be tonight.

The home cooked dinner that Sebastian made is delicious and filling. Snuggling with him to watch our movie under the stars is the best part, it always is just being in his arms.

Sebastian twirls the heart pendant on my necklace like I do. “Destiny, you know that I love you right?”

“Yes, and I love you too, Sebastian,” I assure him. “You mean the world to me.”

His cool lips kiss my forehead. “I love you for every star that’s in the sky. We are doing good keeping things going slow, but I can’t help myself from getting closer to you, and it’s happening fast. My dream is to one day make you my wife, and that of course you’ll say yes.”

My gaze meets his. “I hope so too. My feelings haven’t been this strong for anybody but you, even after ten years… before you left.”

His hand caresses my cheek then cups my chin. “I’m sorry, I really am, and I know that it will take a long time for you to get over it and trust me fully again, but I hope that one day you do.”

Sebastian kisses my lips passionately. Feeling our connection spark between our mouths impulses me to kiss him harder, turning up the passion. His hand rubs rough across my thighs growing our affection. My trembling legs straddle him as he sits up and fully embracing my breasts. His fingers pull my hair back, and his other hand slides up my back to support my leaning body, letting him devour every inch of my body that he can. My dress lifts in his grip while my wet pussy strokes his heated cock.

“Take me right here, like this. And don’t stop,” I whimper.

His fingers pull at my panties forcing them to tug at my swollen clit and makes me hiss. “Fuck, take me now, Sebastian!” I sob loud.

Our heavy breathing clouds thicker into the cool air as he bounces me so fast. His dick pounds its hardest deep inside perfectly against my g-spot on every thrust. No one is around to hear our savage screams and my untamed pleas for more. We haven’t fucked this rough before, and I love it!

My muscles tighten around him bringing our ecstasy to its highest peak.. Our gazes meet as I watch his body race beneath me.

He bites my lip. “I’m cumming all over you right now!” I tell him in hope that we orgasm together.

“Me too,” Sebastian groans loudly.

My hands slide into his, and our fingers squeeze until we finish releasing everything within.

Our bodies lay limp together as the breeze fills my nose with his fresh musky scent. My legs tremble as they lay wrapped around his, and my head resting on his chest.

“I still don’t get it though. I don’t understand why you left for so long and waited all this time to come back for me.” The time that we missed still haunts me. It fucking hurts!

“Just… I just couldn’t face you after what I did, and the risk of putting you in danger was too high back then. I’m here now because I took care of Johnny. But you know this city better than I do and may be able to help me find my sister’s killer.”

My teeth bite my lip in deep thought. “I do know this pretty good, but what clues do you even have that can possibly lead us to the sick bastard?”

Sebastian’s fingers twiddle around with mine and his thumb rubs across my hand. “My sister and I were close, but we all have our secrets. I have a feeling that Carla didn’t tell me everything. The day of her death I followed Johnny to an abandoned factory on the outskirts of  the small town that we lived in. There he had a confrontation with a gun held by a man who was running some type of brothel inside. The man seemed to have been the owner and looked a lot like Paul. Men were videotaping the acts right there in the open room, almost like a big orgy. I wonder if Carla knew about this, and that was why she wanted to leave Johnny before she would be forced to become one of them.”

“What!? Why didn’t you tell me? This doesn’t surprise me though.”

“I wasn’t sure if I
should
tell you but when Paul came over the night that he arrested me I knew it was him. We never spoke before that night, so he isn’t aware that I have any knowledge of this.”

“Does my father know?”

“I don’t know. Destiny, Paul hit a woman there because she was too coked out to turn tricks. I’m afraid of what he might do to you. I see how he looks at you. Consensual or not, those women were being abused. We’ve got to stop him and shut it down! But that’s not all…” I was a little afraid to hear the rest. “Paul handed over a pile of cash just before Johnny lost his shit and tried giving his gun back. Johnny would know that the job of killing my sister was too risky, and he’d have to leave town. Maybe he realized what he had done.”

Sitting up, I inhale a deep breath. “Paul is a sick bastard anyway, but that still doesn’t prove that they did it. It’s not what you know; it’s what you can prove.”

I tell him about what happened at my mother’s house but leave out Drew. I need to find out answers from my brother first.

Sebastian’s hand opens and reveals a ball of ammunition. “When Carla was lying in my arms I took the
bullet
out of her flesh that shot her before the paramedics and police got there. This is the best chance we have at trying to find her killer.”

Helping Sebastian means taking a risk, not for just the both of us, but for everything that I had worked so hard for. My education and career are now on the line for even just knowing that he had tampered with evidence, and I’m now an accessory to it. I am without words and don’t know what to do.

“Please, Destiny. I don’t trust anybody else.” Sebastian’s trust is very important to me, but, what's more, important is that I trust him.

His thumb caresses my sweaty hand while his other one cradles the side of my face. My head tilts and my eyes close against his touch. “You weren’t the only risk; I had to make sure that Carla’s daughter was safe too. I took care of her before handing her over to my parents who claimed full custody of her. Johnny knew better than to come after me alone. After Gary screwed me over with the drug deal, I couldn’t risk her life. When everything felt at a dead end, it seemed like there was no other choice but to come back. I couldn’t wait to see you again. Every day it broke my heart what I did to you, leaving you like that. Every day I wanted nothing more but to hold you in my arms again and to fix the pieces that I broke.”

Taking everything in feels so overwhelming. It’s making my mind spin. “So what’s the connection with Johnny and Gary?” I have a tenancy to change the subject of us. I'm an ugly crier!

I was curious to know how Sebastian fit right in the middle of this giant web of chaos, and now that I do, I'm wishing that maybe I shouldn't have had that first drink with him when we first met, again, It’s obvious that he is in great danger, but Johnny deserves what’s coming to him and why would he want to kidnap
me
? Maybe Johnny did kill Carla but he isn’t the one that’s after me. Maybe it’s the gang that Gary had ripped off and set up Sebastian so now they want back what was stolen from them but will settle for Sebastian’s life… or mine.

“They are brothers and both work for Paul. I didn’t know until after the setup.”

Sebastian knows me more than anyone. It’s like he can always read my mind and can easily sense what I’m feeling or thinking.

“Dennis and your dad can keep you safe from my fuck ups.” His hand cups my chin and lifts my face up to look at him. “I will spend the rest of my life making it up to you and protecting your family and everything that you have worked so hard for. After this I hope we can put everything in the past behind us and live on with our lives together. Let's get away from this shitty excuse for a city and go somewhere new, start fresh. Okay?”

My dry mouth speaks with a hoarse, “Okay.” My throat clears.

I take the bullet from him and put it into the pocket that is sewed inside my jacket. “I will find a way to send this to the lab anonymously that my father deals with. Marci works there when she isn’t at the diner so I think she will pull some strings for me.”

Wishing we could just sit here forever in each other’s arms he turns and kisses my flushed cheek, then my trembling lips. “We will get through this.”
