My mind goes to that perverted place in my head and I can’t help but imagine Addison’s mouth wrapped around my dick. My balls tighten at the very thought and it takes the focus of a saint to stop my dick from tenting in my sweat pants. I find it impossible to tear my gaze from her when her perfect little tits begin to jump up and down as she breaks out into a jog to keep up with the sudden speed change of the treadmill. I match the speed she’s at and begin moving at a faster pace. After taking in the incredible curves through her tight gym attire and watching as the sheen of sweat glistens between her cleavage, she finally calls me out on it.

“Why don’t you take a picture? It might last longer.”

I look up and see her grin. Holding my hands up, I try to do my best impression of Jacob. “I’m just admiring the view.”

She laughs and playfully hits my shoulder.

Shit.
If I weren’t so screwed up and broken-hearted, I could easily fall in love with her.

We head over to the water dispenser for a much-needed liquid refreshment. Once Addison has chugged a full cup of water, she helps herself to a second immediately after. She laughs lightly. “Jesus, I’m so unfit. I could honestly drink a river dry right about now.”

I laugh. “You did amazing today but your endurance will improve with each session, along with your strength. Plus, you totally kicked my ass,” I say, referring to the groin kick I was teaching her. She accidentally kicked me in the nuts harder than originally discussed. It wasn’t painful, but it took my breath away, that’s for sure.

She laughs. “Yeah, right!”

“I’ll be lucky if I can have any more children,” I joke.

“Now you’re just talking crazy. You said yourself that I couldn’t even hurt a fly.”

“Yes, but the groin area is a delicate zone. A hit that wouldn’t ordinarily hurt on any other part of the body kills like a bitch when it’s your unmentionables that are the target. It’s sensitive down there. I don’t think you’d have any problems trying to fight off attackers if you kick them in the nuts.”

“Unmentionables? What are you? Twelve?” She laughs again. “Thank you for the vote of confidence but I think it’s going to take me more than one session to fight off an attacker.” She pauses for a moment to dispense some more water into her plastic cup, this time taking smaller sips. “What have you got planned tonight? It’s just my dad sent me two VIP concert tickets to see Reckless Romance. I was wondering if you wanted to come?”

“Reckless Romance? Wow, I love those guys. I saw them at a local concert a couple of years ago and they rocked the place.” I pause for a moment as panic settles over me. “I’d love to go but I don’t know if going to a rock concert is such a great idea. Rock concerts are notorious for hard drugs. I just don’t want any chance of being tempted.”

“Sebastian, I understand your worry, but if there is any drug use going on at the concert, it will be backstage in a greenroom somewhere, far away from the concert. We’ll just go to the concert, enjoy the music and then leave. That’s it.”

She steps closer. “You need to give yourself a break once in a while. You’ve spent the past several months working your ass off on your recovery, and you haven’t had any time for an ounce of fun. You need to give that incredibly tortured brain a night off and forget about everything and just enjoy life. Come on, it’ll be fun.”

She’s right. I’ve been focusing so much on my recovery that I can’t even remember the last time I did something for myself. Life’s just become so damn serious that I’ve actually forgotten how to have fun. “Okay, I’ll go. I guess I could do with a little more fun in my life.”

She squeals with excitement. “The concert starts at nine. Do you want to meet at my place at eight and we’ll grab a cab to the KeyArena?”

“Okay.”

Addison smiles. “I’m going to head on home. I’ll see you tonight then.”

“Yep, I’ll see you tonight.” I watch as she walks away, unable to keep my eyes off her ass, loving the way it sashays side to side in the sexiest way.

“You’re totally into her.”

I turn to Jacob, who has a smug look on his face. I shrug his comment off. “I have no idea what you’re talking about,” I lie through my teeth.

He laughs. “Don’t play fucking dumb with me, man. You’re head over heels for that chick. I mean, it was pretty obvious with the way you nearly took my goddamn head off just for appreciating her amazing body. Which, by the way, is mighty fine.”

The glare that radiates from me is possibly enough to let off a nuclear bomb and the anger trembling through me only makes him laugh, which irritates me further.

“See, there it is again.” His eyes turn serious, something I wasn’t even sure he was capable of. “Why don’t you tap that?” His question may sound simple enough, but the answer is way more complicated.

“Life’s just too complicated.”

“Bullshit. If you like her, do something about it because a beauty like her will not stay single forever. When the opportunity arises, you gotta grab it with both hands and take control before you’re left with a whole bunch of ‘what ifs.’ I may seem like a player to you and that’s partly because I am.” He smiles a cheeky grin. “But I’m still on the lookout for the perfect woman. The one who will tame me to be the man that she deserves. Your friend there could be the one, but you’ll never find out unless you try. I don’t know what happened to you that made your life a complicated mess, but get over yourself. Life’s too short to let shit hold you down. You’re a military man. You’ve witnessed men and women die left, right and center, so
you
of all people should appreciate what life has to offer.”

I’m stunned into silence as I try and process his words.

“Be brave, man.” He slaps a brotherly hand on my shoulder before walking away.

I definitely underestimated him.

THE MOMENT ADDISON OPENS the door, my jaw just about hits the floor. She’s wearing a pair of smoking hot, tight, fitted ripped jeans, a vintage Nirvana t-shirt and a pair of killer heels. Her wavy hair is an unruly mess that makes me want to run my hands through it, tug on it, and then slam my lips onto hers.

“Wow . . . you, um . . . look wow.” I’ve been in the presence of this woman for ten-seconds max and I’m reduced to a mumbling mess.

She laughs, her cheeks reddening slightly. “So you think I look rock and roll enough?” she questions, giving me a twirl.

I nod. “Hell yeah. Are you ready?”

“Yep, just let me grab my jacket and purse, and I’ll be right with you.”

I go to step inside but she’s already shrugging her leather jacket on, and swooping the strap of her purse over her head, resting it on her shoulder so it fits across her chest. She locks up and we head downstairs to the waiting taxi. We arrive at the arena and Addison leads us to the private entrance, which is so fancy that it even has a red carpet. I suddenly feel like a movie star.

We show our VIP passes to the steward and he ushers us up a set of stairs that leads to the suite level. We reach a set of double doors, and once inside, I’m completely blown away. It’s an executive’s dream come true with plush cream carpets, leather armchairs, marble-topped tables and plasma TV’s. As I take in my surroundings, my eyes almost double when I notice a fully stocked bar and a display of foods that would easily feed an Army of five thousand.

“Holy shit.”

Addison giggles and grabs my hand. “That’s not everything.”

We step out onto the balcony and the breath catches at the back of my throat. The balcony overlooks the stage and once the band comes on, it’ll be as if they are within touching distance. I wander over to the rail, in absolute awe of the view in front of me.

“This is incredible, Addison. I don’t think I’ve ever been so close to the stage before. This is amazing.”

“It’s definitely a perk of being the daughter of William Scott.”

“Wait . . . what? Your father is William Scott, CEO of Scott Records?”

“He sure is.”

“Holy shit.” William Scott is like the Simon Cowell of the rock music industry. He’s signed some of the biggest bands, including Reckless Romance, and he’s one of the richest men in Seattle. Hell, scrap that, he’s probably one of the richest men in America. “Wow, I had no idea. Why didn’t you tell me?”

“It never came up. But I kind of thought you already knew, considering my entire apartment is covered with pictures of my family.” I should have probably focused on the pictures instead of allowing my thoughts to get lost with all things Addison but it’s hard when she consumes nearly every one of my thoughts.

“I’ve never really paid that much attention to the photographs on your wall,” I say with a sheepish look as I’m greeted with a look of mocked disappointment. “I’m a guy, I don’t notice little things like that. I was kind of too sidetracked with your plasma screen to concentrate on anything else.” I give a cheeky grin. “Your dad is freaking William Scott, I almost want to bow down to you and kiss the very ground you walk on.”

She playfully pushes me. “He’s honestly just a normal dad. He farts and everything.”

“I wouldn’t say that with any press around. They’d have a field day with such a newsworthy exclusive.” I laugh. “How about I get you a drink? What would you like?”

“A water, please.”

“One water coming up.”

When I arrive back from the bar with two bottled waters—which, to my astonishment, were free, along with any other drinks I may consume throughout the evening—I notice the lights have dimmed and the bass acoustics from the support band are vibrating through the entire arena, filling my eardrums completely.

I hand Addison her water and edge closer to shout, “You could have told me it was a free bar. I totally made an ass out of myself when I tried to give the bartender a twenty.” I can see her shoulders begin to shake as laughter consumes her. She leans closer and the sheer feel of her breath against my neck does crazy things to me.
Fuck, she smells amazing.

“I kind of thought that was a given.”

I lean in again, inhaling her incredible aroma. “I’m not used to luxuries like this on a regular basis, so next time maybe clue me in.”

She stands on her tiptoes, leaning her mouth near my ear. Sensual goose bumps rise at the touch of her breath on my skin, and I’m hard in an instant.

“I’m sorry but you’re unbelievably cute when you’re mad. Or should I say, pretending to be mad.”

“Cute?” I question, shouting down her ear through the incessant metal beats of the guitar bass and drums that continue to pump through the smog-filled air. “I don’t think so. How about we try something manly instead, like sexy or rugged?”

“Okay, you’re totally sexy and rugged when you’re mad. Happy?” she shouts over the music with a shit-eating grin on her face.

I press my lips against her warm ear. “Very.” I brush my lips against her skin with the gentlest of kisses, and the feel of her shivering turns me on even more.

When Reckless Romance come on stage, the entire place erupts in piercing screams and cheers. I watch as Addison gets lost in the music—dancing, singing, and rocking along with the band. I find myself in a trance, watching the way she moves her sexy hips side to side as she waves her slender arms in the air to the beat of the music. She’s the epitome of life and I want to be a part of it. I want to feel the carefree sensation running through my veins in the way the music runs through hers.

I think she’s it.

She’s my music.

As the balcony becomes packed with bodies, I edge closer to Addison so I’m directly behind her, encasing her with my arms as my hands grip the railing. Heat engulfs the two of us immediately and it only increases as her ass innocently pushes into my crotch while her hips continue to move to the music. My hips begin to move on their own accord and we suddenly become this body mass of fire, joining as one, the music fueling our sexual urges in the only way music can—through the sensual expression of dance.
It’s like we’re fucking with our clothes on.

My hands move from their solid grip on the railing and begin to run up her thighs, to her hips before resting against her navel. I use the palm of my hand to push her further into me, my erection pushing harshly into her back. Through the heavy metallic beats of the music that pounds through us, I can still hear the gasp of air that leaves her mouth. My eyes zone on her neck and the temptation to trace my lips against the sweet skin becomes unbearable. My lips press softly against her neck, sucking slightly against the creamy softness, licking at the salty sweat. I watch closely as her eyes flicker shut and she rests her head against my shoulder, giving me more access to her neck as she continues to move with the music.
