“I think that's a plan. I'm going to go and see Adriana; I'll catch up with you later.”

“Good luck! Say hi for me, I'll catch up with her sometime soon.”

Paul went straight to his bedroom and crashed out on the bed, deep in thought. He smiled to himself. He could not believe all of the places he had been and all of the adventures. Most of all, Paul found it hard to believe that he had actually been dead, and that he played his part in Draylon's foretold destiny. One thing he did know is that he was going to enjoy his life; he was going to be more outgoing and milk every last drop out of every day. Paul put his MP3 player on, relaxed and closed his eyes.

Draylon arrived at the supermarket where Adriana worked. He walked in and saw her at the rear of the shop stacking shelves. He felt nervous. She turned to see him, her eyes lit up; they walked over to each other and embraced.

“I've missed you!” Adriana was excited; she hoped that Draylon was still going to ask her out.

“I've missed you too! How are you?” Draylon could hear his own heart beating.

“I'm good, not much has happened around here really. How is Paul? Is he coming out of his shell at last?” She smiled at the thought of Paul and how quiet he could be.

“I believe he is a changed man. He's become a good friend – my only friend, in fact.”

“What about me – aren't I your friend?”

“I was hoping for that – maybe more than a friend. Would you like to go out sometime?”

“I would love to!” Adriana was ecstatic; she hadn't had anyone in her life for quite some time.

“Maybe tomorrow?” Draylon said nervously. Despite his strength, Adriana made him go weak at the knees.

“Tomorrow would be perfect.” She was already wondering what to wear.

Draylon kissed her cheek. They both smiled and looked at each other nervously – they could feel the electricity between them. Draylon said that he was going to get a couple of energy drinks, changing the subject and stumbling on his words a little. He paid for his drinks. Adriana suggested he be careful with those drinks – he wouldn't want to become addicted. Draylon laughed, saying that Paul said the very same thing, but he feared it was too late for that. Draylon said that he'd see Adriana tomorrow and that he was looking forward to their date very much. He then made his way back to Paul's.

Paul was relaxing, listening to his MP3 player. Draylon startled him when he came in. Paul asked him how things went with Adriana. Draylon said that they were going out tomorrow night; he couldn't wait, but felt a little anxious. Paul congratulated him, saying that she was a lovely girl and that he hoped everything went well. Paul asked if being a hybrid would present any problems with having a relationship. Draylon smiled and replied that it was just a date, but he said that he would look into it, just in case his relationship with Adriana did ever reach the next level. He said he had no desire to start a family in the foreseeable future anyway, especially with what he now knew about his kin, the greys. With that, Draylon asked if Paul was ready to go to Tongariki. Paul said that he was very much looking forward to driving his yellow Suzuki Alto again and laughed – he missed his Mustang very much.

Paul connected his MP3 player up to his stereo, started the car, revved the engine a little, and told Draylon to hold on tight. They both laughed as the car went from 0 to 60 in over ten seconds. They were on their way to Tongariki, the place where he found the first tablet, the place where it all started. They arrived and got out of the car and stood looking at the large Moai statues; the proud faces of the Moai staring back at them. It was an awesome spectacle.

Paul said to Draylon that he loved his home on Easter Island, but very much missed their adventure. He said that he had the time of his life, literally, and hoped that they could go off on a voyage again in the not too distant future. Draylon assured him that there would be many more to come. There were no other people at the site and Paul suggested that now would be a great time to see what Draylon could do. Draylon held up his right hand, facing the largest of the Moai. Using his amplified telekinetic powers, he easily raised the massive statue ten feet in the air. He held it for a while and then slowly lowered it down again. Paul's jaw gaped.

“That was unbelievable – how about your strength, has that improved?”

Draylon went over to Paul's car and lifted up the back end with his left hand easily. “Would you like me to lift it above my head?” Draylon grinned.

Paul felt protective of his little yellow car. “No, no. Thank you! You're strong, I get it. I know – I want you to fly to Egypt and get me a scarab necklace; I've always wanted one of those, I would have got one whilst we were there, but I was distracted.”

Draylon bent his knees and leapt; he shot off at an astounding speed and vanished out of sight in a second. A couple of minutes later, he returned, landing with the grace of a gymnast in the Olympics. He gave Paul the scarab necklace.

“That is unbelievable! You're like Superman or something.”

“Superman is fictional Paul.” Draylon laughed, “Anything else my friend?”

With that, Draylon heard the high-pitched noise again. It was coming from the smallest Moai statue. He told Paul and they both went over to see what it was. Draylon held out his right hand and using his ability to manipulate matter, created an opening in the statue. He reached in and found another metallic rectangular tablet. He then resealed the Moai and stood in thought, Paul asked him what he was waiting for, anxious as to what information the tablet held within. Draylon held his hand over the tablet. The information within it flooded into his subconscious at the speed of light and then the metallic object disintegrated into tiny particles.

“What is it?” asked Paul curiously.

“The tablet was obviously triggered by the amulet that is now a part of me. The message was that of the pale green alien race. It read, Draylon, you have completed your quest successfully, humankind are predominantly good, and we spent many years nurturing them. You now have the ability to do much good on Earth. The amulet contained within it all of our knowledge and power, and that is now yours. By now, the technologies of humans will be such that your race will see them as a threat. You know what that means. Protect them, and let our demise not have been in vain.”

“No pressure then!” remarked Paul with a smile.

“Well one thing's for sure, it looks like you're going to get your adventure, my friend – this is the beginning!”

Chapter One – Abduction

It was seven p.m. on Sunday the 6th of February 2011. Draylon waited outside of The Rongorongo Inn for Adriana. A car pulled up and Adriana stepped out. Draylon couldn't believe his eyes, she looked beautiful. She wore a short black dress, her long brown hair shone and her brown eyes were seductive and intense. Draylon felt his knees start to buckle, his heart sped and he felt nervous. In those few seconds Draylon knew he could be eternally happy with Adriana, but realised that with his destiny looming, it could not be, not yet.

Adriana smiled at Draylon. She wasn't surprised to see him wearing his usual blue jeans and grey T-shirt, but thought he looked perfect just as he was. She felt very nervous because it had been so long since she had last dated. Adriana was determined not to give away her emotions too much, but to keep a little in reserve, because she didn't want to fall unless she knew she was going to be caught.

“Hi. You look beautiful,” said Draylon a little lost for words.

“Thank you! I've been looking forward to this.” Adriana held Draylon's gaze, not wanting to look away for a second.

“Shall we go inside?” Draylon took Adriana's hand.

“I feel so nervous,” Adriana couldn't believe she was falling for him, and so soon.

“You're not the only one, my heart is doing cartwheels,” said Draylon with a smile.

They found a table for two in a secluded area at the rear of the bar. It was a table made of oak, with two small oak benches to sit. A candle was lit, and the lighting was gentle creating a flawless sheen on the world around them. They both browsed the menu, Draylon ordered Pasta in a mushroom sauce and a large diet coke. Adriana decided on a lasagne and a small red wine.

The food and drinks were brought and they both ate and conversed at length, talking about Paul and Draylon's adventure. Draylon held back because he didn't feel ready to tell Adriana about who he really was. Adriana sensed that Draylon was holding back a little, but so was she; it was only their first date.

“Are you planning on staying at Easter Island?” asked Adriana, a little nervous about Draylon's response.

“I like it here. I do hope so. Things are a little complicated at the moment though.”

“Do you want to talk about it?”

Draylon paused for a short while. “I would like to, and I will. Trust me, I like you a lot Adriana, and I will tell you, but not just yet, I am sorry!”

“That's ok. We have all the time in the world.” Adriana felt a little upset, but realised that relationships with men were always going to be difficult.

“We should do this again, I've had a lovely time,” Draylon wanted to tell Adriana everything, but feared her response. He wanted to be entirely open with her, but he feared it would be too much too soon.

“I would like that. And there is no need to rush this. I trust you'll be open with me when the time is right.”

“I will, I promise. May I walk you home?”

“That'd be lovely.”

Draylon took Adriana's hand and they left the Inn. They took the long way around to Adriana's home, stopping at the shoreline to enjoy the sound of the ocean and the beautiful star lit sky. They embraced. Draylon breathed the scent of Adriana in deep and then he kissed her lips. Draylon had never been in love before, but he had the feeling that what he felt inside was exactly that. Adriana was feeling happier than she had felt in years. She had an almost uncontrollable urge to say “I'm falling in love with you!” but she managed to hold back, not wanting to scare Draylon off. An hour passed in what seemed like a second, and Draylon said that he'd better get Adriana home before her parents send out a search party. They arrived at Adriana's doorstep, they kissed each other gently goodnight and arranged to meet up again soon.

Draylon arrived back at Paul's flat. He was thankful Paul was still awake because he wanted to talk about his feelings towards Adriana. Paul asked how the evening went. Draylon explained that everything was perfect, but he was worried because the weight of the world was on his shoulders, and things could become dangerous for Adriana. He said that potentially anyone he cared for in his life could be used as leverage. Paul assured him that he was thinking about things too much and should just live for the moment. Draylon replied that he wished things were that simple. He went on to say that he thinks he's falling in love with Adriana, but he can't let that happen. The greys potential threat to humanity is real. He can't be distracted or put anyone he cares about in danger, things have to end with Adriana, at least for now. Draylon felt saddened beyond belief, but believed with his heart and soul that this is how it must be. Paul said that he understood but didn't envy him telling Adriana.

Adriana was ecstatic. Her mother, Angelica was still up, and Adriana told her everything about her evening and how excited she was. Angelica was looking forward to meeting the man in Adriana's life. She hadn't seen her daughter so happy in a very long time. Adriana kissed her mother goodnight and made her way to her bedroom.

Angelica sat downstairs for a while deep in thought. She went to stand and fell to her knees. Angelica was sick, but she didn't have the heart to tell her family. She hoped that her faith in God would be enough to rid her of her illness. After a few minutes she managed to stand, and then made her way cautiously to her bedroom where her husband Peter was already sound asleep.

The next day Paul was awakened at 10 a.m. by the phone ringing, it was Adriana's mother. Angelica sounded extremely worried. She asked if Paul had seen Adriana, as she was supposed to be at work at 8:30 a.m. but hadn't shown up. Paul assured Angelica that she can't be far away, and that he would go to find her immediately. Paul called out to Draylon whom had taken residence with him and was using his sofa for a bed. He told Draylon that Adriana was missing. In a split second Draylon was gone. Paul assumed that with Draylon's super speed and accelerated hearing, he would find Adriana in minutes. That was not the case. Draylon returned frantic an hour later and he exclaimed, “She's not on the island!”

“She must be! Where else could she be?” Paul started to panic.

Draylon looked at Paul “They've taken her!”

“What would they want with Adriana?”
