CHAPTER
26

Let’s Try That Again

              I was on one team and unfortunately all the big hitters were on the other side, Summer, Khatara, Irina, Nick and his crew and so on. I did have one of the twins on my side; unfortunately it was Aimee who was smoking hot, but nowhere near as deadly as her sister. Kara was there as was Vikonika and some others, but we had to out think this group. Kara huddled us together.

             
“Okay, no need for our normal hatred today ladies. We are about to be creamed and we need a plan.”

             
“I have a plan, I don’t know it is a very good one, but it is worth trying.” I say as everyone looks my way.

             
“Let’s hear it meat”, Kara tells me. “Can I call you meat? Cause I hear that’s all male vampires are. I never thought I see one though. Cory how long have you been a Vampire and more importantly do you still want to sex me up? Because I am totally not okay with it unless you beg.”

             
I stand there dumbfounded wondering how the conversation switched topics so fast.

             
“You may not touch him mongrel, now we are waiting to hear this plan.” Vikonika says as she pulls me closer to her and gives Kara the death stare.

             
“Well I think I can handle Nick and Vanessa myself. Aira will pose a problem to me because I probably won’t see her coming.  The trick we have is this. If you see me running and Aimee is not by my side, you are looking at an illusion. Attack from behind when they try to stop me.”

             
“You can make copies of yourself?” Vikonika asks more of an accusation than a question.

             
“Don’t know but I do not see why not.”

             
The bell sounded and chaos once again broke out. I could notice Summer starting to go into action as well as Nick. That’s when it hit me. Whoever they had planned for alpha and possibly bravo were on the other team, we were fodder. I kept my eyes on Vanessa the whole time figuring she would be the one to reach me first. I had Aimee watching out for Aira.

             
As soon as Vanessa blinked out of existence I braced myself for her. She always attacked from the back which is the reason Aimee was in front of me. I spun around and grabbed the air in front of me. I managed to get a grip on Vanessa’s arm for a second but that’s all I needed until I gave her the juice. She fell twitching on the ground as I spotted Nick coming up fast on my right.

             
I took in the battle field as I could see the big hitters were fanned out and coming for me from all directions.  Nick had already taken out 5 people and the game was not even ten seconds old. He was making much better progress than the rest of them and would be on me before I knew it. I grabbed Aimee and went into the field of battle hoping to get lost in it. With my illusions I disguised myself as Ivy and we began to mock fight while keeping my eye on Nick. I could see he lost track of me and began to search around frantically for me. I could see Khatara was having all she can handle from Kara, who really wasn’t doing any damage, but did enough to annoy and slow her down. I fell as Nick made his way to me.

             
“He went in that direction.” I saw Aimee point as Nick turned around and stared directly into Aimee’s eyes.

             
Before he had a chance to figure out what was going on I grabbed him and gave him a sweet taste of his own medicine. He dropped on the floor and flopped about. Put my foot on him and sent him another Jolt for good measure. Ivy ran to me but I already had her figured out.

             
Ivy read minds, meaning if I thought about throwing a right cross, she would know it. But if I sang something annoying or my plan, just think the opposite, I wasn’t sure if she could dodge. I was aware she was reading my mind but she never would be able to tell if I was lying or not. I got into my fighting stance disguised as Kyra, while I made Aimee look like Ronnie.

             
I thought left throwing a left and she correctly dodged it and threw a right punch at me. I put on my electricity and she knew it, which is the reason she pulled up at the last minute, making her punch come up short. I started slap boxing with her, I was just going for speed instead of power, relying on my electricity to bring her down. I danced around her until she had her back to Aimee, who went on the attack. She correctly identified this but failed to notice me step on her foot. A second later it was over.

             
By this time I could see Summer was having some trouble as two vamps and a werewolf was giving her a beating. I figured they would eventually tire and Summer would prevail, but it would by me time. Kara was on the floor out of it with Khatara sniffing the air trying to locate me with senses other than her nose. I sent an image of me running right by her heading to the other side of the park as I ran along with Aimee, this time disguised as Nick and her being Vanessa. Khatara and Summer both met the fake me at the same time with Khatara trying a flying tackle from behind and Summer being in front to stop my progress. Khatara went right through the fake me and tackled Summer full on. I had fake me give them a smile and wave my finger no no.

             
I then sent twelve different versions of me all running to the finish line. I could see their team trying to pick me off, which gave the few left of our team time to strike from behind. Suddenly I saw Aimee go down from a blow from behind. We both fall as Vikonika stood over her. I quickly change out of my disguise so she can see the real me. That was a mistake.

             
Taking my eyes off of the action made all my illusions disappear which made everyone look around until they spotted me. I quickly made as many copies of myself and Vikonika as possible and disguised myself as a piece of equipment. I think I threw Vikonika for a loop too since she started searching for me, either that or she was playing her role. It wasn’t long before my entire squad was out, and most of the big hitters were still there, minus Nick. They walked all around me trying to find me. I figured it was a matter of time before Summer found me by simply memorizing what the field looked like before. I project an image of me hiding by the starting point. That gets a number of people whispering and pointing and slowly start making their way my start point. I will another illusion in front of me as Summer and start slowly walking to the start point. I was trying all I could to make her look suspicious. Finally Irina took the bait and took off after my fake Summer. I then made an illusion of the ground turning into me right at the finish line smiling as fake Summer was found out. I could hear Khatara moan as everyone looked at the finish line and started walking off the field. Fairplay came down to pat fake me on the shoulder. Her hand passed right through me. I hoped no one saw that as I changed back into me and made a dead sprint for the finish line. Luckily it was like a trick play in football, the defense was still on the field walking off, unaware of what was happening. I was almost there when Irina tackled me from the side. I gave her a jolt just as she connected with an elbow. I swear I get more concussions than any kid I know. I am not sure what happened after that, other than my team lost, again.

             
I came to my senses in the infirmary, the human one. Chloe was touching my head and I was now aware it hurt like the dickens. I checked my surroundings and saw a very pissed off Nick, Vanessa and Aira. I wondered what happened to her during the game. Also in the room was Vikonika and Anastasia.

             
“Finally human, if you were any worse we might as well give him and aspirin.” Anastasia said in a nasty tone before continuing, “He still has a bump on his head, can you do anything right?”

             
“Don’t talk to her like that, I could take you all out before you can even blink.” Nick said as he raised his arms.

             
“Not before I rip this one’s head clean off” Vikonika spoke while laughing. “I saw the way you protected your last friend. If I had you as my protector human I would just off myself to save my enemies the trouble.”

             
I saw Nick’s eyes mist up. Before anything stupid happened I stumbled to my feet. I could see Nick debating on whether to fry everybody and I also saw Anastasia position herself to take out either Aira or Chloe. I leaned heavily on Vikonika and asked he to take me home. She didn’t budge until sucked on her neck a bit.

             
“Consider yourself lucky human.” Vikonika spoke as she lifted me up in her arms. “Lets leave these pathetic beings to whatever is was they were doing.” They carried me back to my room where Irina was waiting for me. And boy was she pissed.

Time to pay the Piper

              “You thought you were real cute out their today.” Irina says as she walks towards me, her gait unsteady. “How dare you embarrass your Queen?” She then slaps me harder than I could ever imagine, the noise sounding almost like a crack of thunder. I could feel my face swelling up as she picked me up and tossed me around the room.

             
“Remove your clothes and don’t make me ask twice.” She says staring at me.

             
I guess I took too long to move because she is on me in an instant and punched me in the stomach so hard I throw up. As I am on the ground I feel my clothes being torn off. I stumble to my feet and run to Josef’s door banging on him to open it. I can feel the door crack open.

             
“Close that door or you will be next” Irina screams as she walks over towards me. I try to dodge her for a while in the room running behind furniture, but she pretty much smashes everything to bits, leaving her bleeding. I crawl under my bed and try to stay there. She reaches for me but I crouch in the corner even more. Suddenly I see the bed go flying over my head and she is on me. She chokes me until I pass out.

             
When I awake I am chained to my bed and I see Annova talking to Irina, both stark naked. I realize I am naked and some type of I.V. is in my arm. My face feels shit. I am not sure if I broke anything or if it is just bruised muscle tissue. My eyes feel heavy when I realize they are just swollen shut. I feel sticky around my private area so I guessed I wasn’t a virgin anymore. I saw they did not notice me so I just eavesdropped on their conversation.

             
“Majesty, we had our fun but did you truly have to beat him up so bad? He is going to take days to recover.”

             
“The rage came over me. I wanted him to enjoy his time here but it looks like that is not going to happen. I wish I could do it all over again. I would use my words instead of my fists, it’s like I can see it happening all over and over again in my head.”

             
Suddenly a scene materialized of me strapped to a bed any Irina naked on top of me, punching me hard in the face, body or whatever else she can get her hands on. Annova and Irina jump back and look at me. I pretend to be unconscious.

             
“He must be awake Majesty.” Annova says as I she her turn towards me. Irina grabs her shoulder.

             
“No Anna, I think that was me. Watch me.”

             
I can make out a figure of a man with jet black hair and combed backwards. He wore a suit, more than a suit, I would say a tuxedo. The kind you don’t need to wear a tie with. The figure just rotated around and then blinked out of existence.

             
“How are you doing that Majesty?”

             
“I don’t know. Maybe it has to do with him.” I see her point towards me.

             
“Well I can’t do anything Majesty. It’s not coming for me.”

             
Irina went to pat Annova on the shoulder and instantly took her hand back, dropping to the ground.

             
“Majesty! I am so sorry I didn’t think, that is I thought..”

             
“You didn’t get me good Annova. One thing for sure is we must figure out how long this lasts. This could finally free us from rule under these humans and their wretched mutts. I could be the most powerful Vampire in the world. We could be the most powerful family. Think about it Anna, we could capture every available male and live forever. Our time could possibly be short lived though. If he is in fact a normal human we have roughly two weeks left. More than enough time to snatch a male vampire. I only hope we can find one in time.”

             
I see her walking towards me. I close my eyes which isn’t too hard since they barely open anyway. I feel my hands being freed and the I.V. being taken out. I am kissed on my forehead which hurts like hell. I let a small moan escape while kisses me again this time more gentle.

             
“I don’t want to hurt you Cory, you just need to learn who is in control.” She kisses me again as a tear escapes my eye.
