She wanted the world to see how happy she was, how well loved she was going to be. She wanted to introduce her new husband and daughter to her fans. She wanted to tell her story with hopes of helping other women who had lived through or were living through the guilt of giving up their child to strangers.

“I’ll show you how much I love you right after we check on Sara. But first…” Grabbing Nate by the shirtfront, she dragged him forward, against her. “Kiss me like you’re making love to me. Give me a memory to treasure forever.”

As Nate obliged and slanted his mouth across hers, Jessie wound her arms around his neck and melted against the length of his body. The days of hiding the truth had finally passed. There were no more secrets to conceal, no more fear of being exposed. She’d found her daughter. She’d reunited with Nate.

He raised his head. “Come live with Sara and me, Jess.”

“Every day for the rest of my life, cowboy.”

“Always remember. I’m crazy in love with you. No matter what happens in the future, I’m never going to stop loving you.”

Behind her closed eyelids, as he kissed her breathless once again, the rhythmic flash of the camera continued. She’d have to remember to ask for copies of the pictures for her scrapbook.

Always remember.

She’d never forget.

Jessie braced her hands against his chest. Beneath her palm, she felt the steady beat of his heart. In his eyes, she saw the truth of his words. “I almost didn’t come home. And if I hadn’t—”

He brushed her bottom lip with his thumb pad, his gaze following the movement. “I should have come after you years ago. Sweetheart, I’m never letting you go again.”

“Promise?”

“Uh huh. Now about the wedding.”

“What’s the rush, cowboy?” She grabbed his hat, plopped it on her head, and slid her arms around his neck. “We don’t have to be married to make love, you know. I’m a big girl. You’re a big boy.” Jessie grinned and pressed up against him. “And getting bigger by the second.”

Nate captured her under the knees, scooped her into his arms, and cradled her against his chest, a grin softening the hard lines of his mouth as he strode toward the hospital entrance. “We’re going to have to move the wedding up. Because if I make love to you before we’re married, what kind of message are we sending our daughter?”

“That two people in love should have the freedom to explore each other intimately.”

The look he gave her was hot enough to burn her. “Not till the wedding ring is on your finger, Jess.”

She laughed. “You’re a hypocrite, Nate Coltrane.”

“No, I’m a father, Jessie Adams. Maybe I should have taught Sara this lesson a long time ago.”

“So what do you want to do instead?”

A soft smile spread across his mouth, lit his eyes. “Introduce Sara to her new mom. Discuss the new additions to the family. Start working on the nursery.”

Mom.
The word — and everything it entailed — sounded heavenly. Melting against him, she sighed. “I don’t believe this.”

“Sweetheart, you better believe it cause I’m never letting you leave without me again.”

Dear Reader

Thank you for picking up a copy of Always Remember, book one in the Rocky Mountain Romance series. I hope you enjoyed it.

When I went looking for a title for this book, my oldest son, James Seabrook of
Two Bodies of Water Productions
suggested I use the title from a song he’d written when he was sixteen. Well…one thing led to another and before I knew it, some of the lyrics of his song found their way into my story. And because he has perfectionist tendencies like his mother, he decided the lyrics could be better.

As of this date, James is rewriting the lyrics especially for Jessie and Nate, and once he’s done, he’ll record and produce the song. He already has a drummer and lead singer lined up, and I can’t wait to hear the results.

Once the work on the song is complete, we’ll put together a book trailer, so be sure to check my website for updates on this special project.

If you enjoyed Always Remember, please help others find it by recommending it to family, friends, readers groups, and discussion boards, or leave a review on one of the many online review sites.

About the Author

Sheila Seabrook, a two time Golden Heart finalist, writes contemporary romance and romantic women’s fiction from her home on the Canadian prairies. Her parents taught her that family is number one — even when you want to sometimes smother them with a pillow. Needless to say, when Sheila’s not writing, her life is filled with family, more family, and more family still. Fortunately these sometimes odd and strange people are the inspiration for her quirky secondary characters.
