BRIGHT COLORS BACKPACK
This backpack was designed and made by my granddaughter, with a little help from her mom. Nicole says it’s perfect for taking all her gear to ballet lessons, and the bright colors against the denim blue background work great with jeans. The backpack is worked on a small hook so that stitches will produce a tightly woven fabric, preventing small items from slipping through.

TWEEN HOODED VEST
My granddaughter chose to use the #6 Jeannine Square for a hooded vest. She likes the textures of the square but decided to downplay the multicolor aspect a bit and use only two colors per square. By crocheting only the first three rounds of the pattern, she made squares that are smaller and more proportionate to her size. I helped her design the layout of the squares, the size adjustments, and the finishing touches.
