Chapter 9: Strategic Planning

The prince was the last to enter the meeting chamber. All stood and bowed slightly to their leader, some out of respect but most out of fear. Deshad was directly behind the Prince as usual, those at the table bowed their heads to the assassin as well....all out of fear.

The Prince was quick to make his authority known. "I see our new representative from Russia has joined us today." The replacement to Volkov stood and bowed. "I am honored my lord." The Prince nodded then turned his attention to the rest of the table. "Progress gentlemen, where are we?"

The Princes First Lieutenant, Garrett answered. "With the exceptions of Russia and South America all is going as planned." The Princes expression let Garrett know that he wanted more information. Garrett obliged. "Russia is well on the way to falling in line; the people of South America are proving to be more resistant to the agent than expected."

The Princes eyebrows rose. "More resistant?" Garrett answered. "Only slightly my lord, they are still dying by the thousands every day." The Prince nodded and moved to a different matter. "How are the people responding, have there been any revolts yet?"

All those in the room turned to look at the others, each surprised at the silence. Garrett had nothing to report himself. "Sir other than the expected small groups of people hiding or looting we haven’t had any incidents to report. Russia is well on the way to order and both North America and Asia are..." Garrett paused for effect " ... cooperating."

The Prince looked to Cho Xuan Zhou the former leader of China, now in charge of all Asia. Zhou nodded and spoke through a very thick accent. "There is very little dissention my lord."

After a moment the largest man in the room mulatto Damier Silva spoke with his deep baritone voice. "I think we were expecting a little more resistance than we have received sir."

The Prince smiled. "Gentlemen the Illuminati have been preparing this long before our grandparents were even a glimmer in the minds of their parents. The very structure of society the family unit, the banking and economic system the conflicts of the world have all been to our design. Do not be surprised at the ease by which the lamb is led. Just prepare for the ones who would fight against what we have created. Individual problems should be dealt with quickly and efficiently. Do not let groups be formed against us eliminate them immediately and the world will make a smooth transition into what we have created." All in the council nodded the Prince asked. "Are there any other issues we need to be aware of, anything at all do not be afraid to speak up for this is the most important time in our history and nothing can afford to be missed."

Everyone shook their heads trying to think of anything of relevance. Gordon Smith director of the United Kingdom did think of something. The former British Prime Minister asked the Prince. "The weather sir, it’s been a bit rough as of late." With that statement a few others chimed in. The new Russian leader spoke. "It has been getting much warmer at my home."

Zhou spoke next. "We have had several earthquakes and tsunamis in the past few months, the largest only registering a two; small but still that many is unusual."

Garrett was scratching his chin. "Now that the subject is up we had a small hurricane hit Florida, no major damage but we are months out of season. We have also had snow reports all along the south."

The Prince fully aware of the global climate changes thought for a moment on how to address the issue. "The world is changing in many ways. This has happened before and is of little consequence at this time. Humanity will survive these changes; it is our job to ensure that the society that is left is the one we have created. Use whatever methods you need, global warming, religious dogma whatever it takes to make your people trust you. Give support when needed, do whatever is necessary to ensure our control but do not let our enemies to gather. Strike down all who would oppose us quickly and the old world will be but a memory. The sooner we can get the masses to accept the New World Order the sooner we can repopulate our cities and reignite the global economy.... We will succeed gentlemen...at any cost."

With that the Prince stood up and all stood up with him. He nodded, they bowed and the Prince left, Deshad and Garrett in tow. All proceeded to leave. Damier Silva thought to himself about the climate changes in the world, he thought about the many prophecies over the centuries, he thought about the book of Revelations.

It was after dawn before the work of burying the dead was done. Anthony and the others had gone back to camp to get some much needed rest. Nathan was alone at the creek, crouching down he let the cold water wash the dirt and blood from his clothes and body, he watched the red tint on the water glisten in the morning sun; thinking about last night, thinking about Kayla wondering if he had made the right decisions. Nathan stood up and wrung out his shirt looking down the creek to the rising sun.

Nathan spoke quietly. "Dad, I don’t know if you can hear me but I could really use your help now. Am I doing the right thing? Have I put these people and the ones I love in danger, should I have just shut my mouth....what do I do?"

Nathan was young when his father died but he could still hear his voice echoing the lessons of Nathans youth.....telling him not to start shaving his peach fuzz at 13 "You’re going to regret that" or "always take care of your mother and brother". Throughout the years Nathan sometimes could hear in his head the words of his father when he needed them. Nathan closed his eyes thinking of what guidance his father would give, he could almost hear his voice "Do what your heart tells you, do what is right."

Simple words. Nathan opened his eyes again towards the rising sun. "Thank you dad."

Nathan had returned to camp and tried to get some rest, even with a fire watch set he found it too hard to sleep. Nathan relieved the watch and walked around camp to get a sense of how his group was doing. Quietly more of the refugees began to exit their tents; some gave cordial greetings but most were quiet. Eventually everyone was up but the quiet still remained, Anthony moved to his friend. "You did what needed to be done." Nathan nodded slightly."I know."

"Do you think we're safe?" Anthony asked Nathan looked around. "Maybe…more than before I think." Anthony looked around at the group that was much more alert than before. Nathan looked at the camp as well. "They know the threat is real now." Anthony thought for a moment and then asked his friend. "What happens next?" Nathan looked around the camp thinking of the others being indoctrinated. "We go through with our plans, we free the Jackson compound." Anthony took a deep breath crossed one arm over his chest with the other on his chin thinking. "There’s at least 3 or 400 troops there, do you have a plan yet?" Nathan inadvertently made the same thinking pose as his friend. "I have a few ideas but nothing solid yet."

Nathan moved to the center of the campsite and calmly started motioning everyone towards his position. Darion, Jason and Alexia helped. Once together Nathan began to speak, trying to sound less formal, less preachy and more like a close friend or brother. "Is everyone ok?"

Most around nodded, some found it hard to make eye contact with Nathan; others were glued in one young man said. "Just a bit shaken up but I think we're alright." Nathan nodded. "Last night was not a chance incident; they were here for us, all of us. They were here to take you back to the compounds." One woman nervously asked. "Why, why wouldn’t they just leave us? Why are we important? Why do they want us?"

Nathan answered. "We aren’t important, what we can do is." The group focused more intently. "Twenty people are nothing to them, but if we can free others if we can get the word out to others of what the truth is and let them know that there are people still willing to fight for the freedom of this country then we twenty become more of a threat." Some in the group weren’t so easily swayed. Mr. Haynesworth again took up the mantel of Nathans advocate. "300 Spartans were nothing to almost a million Persians yet their stand at Thermopylae influenced and entire war." Nathan nodded his appreciation to Mr. Haynesworth he wasn’t sure where he or anybody stood after last night.

A middle aged thin man with messed gray hair stood up and spoke with contempt in his voice. "What if we want to leave would you kill us too like you did those last night?" Before Nathan could respond Alexia jumped in the man’s face. "Are you stupid?!? My brother just saved your life and you have the nerve!" The man knowing of Alexia’s skill took a step back and said. "Violence must run in the family." Alexia’s eyes got wide, Darion who had

also stood up at an insult to his family had seen Alexia’s right ankle move and quickly moved in front of his sister." Nathan also had seen Alexia’s weight shift and quickly called to his sister. "Lex!" Alexia heard Nathan but continued to eye down the man.

Anthony calmly walked over to Alexia and Darion put a brotherly hand on each of their shoulders and quietly spoke. "Go take a seat." After a moment Alexia returned to her seat with Darions guidance. Anthony then turned his attention on the gray haired man. His voice was not raised but even he had a bit of contempt as he spoke. "Those men came here, they fired at us they would have been fine killing all of us to include your wife and daughter simply because we are not under their control."

The gray haired man did not relent. "We don’t know who fired first, I heard gunshots and so I crouched in my tent covering my family. Our tent flap was open and blowing through the storm I saw, I saw what you did to those men with your swords!" the man was looking past Anthony to Nathan. The group grew more tense, Nathan was thinking of what to say when a little girl seven or so pulled away from her mother and walked to her father. The gray haired man looked down at his daughter who had not spoken since the previous night.

He placed an arm around her and she looked up to him. "The man shot first daddy." The man looked at his daughter. "What baby?" The young girl dropped her head to face the ground. "I saw the zipper open and a man was standing there with a gun. I heard Mr. Nathan say that bad men would be coming so I screamed, I saw the man shoot his gun but I didn’t see where." The girl began to cry. "I covered my mouth and tried to be quiet but it was too late there was shooting everywhere...it’s all my fault." The gray haired man crouched down and embraced his daughter. Nathan slowly moved closer to them and crouched as well softly speaking to the little girl. "It’s not your fault; your scream told us the bad men were here."After a moment Nathan stood up as he addressed the gray haired man. "If you want to leave..." Nathan looked around to the entire group. "If anyone wants to leave you are free to do so. This is not a prison camp and you are not captives. We are free men and women fighting for our liberty. Anyone can leave at any time. But for everyone else’s safety those who choose to leave will be blind folded and led many miles from here. We will give you food, supplies and direction."

Nathan stopped for a moment. "We are about to take another step in freeing the minds of our people so anyone who wishes to leave please let me know now." Nathan looked around as the grouped looked at each other and then made eye contact with the gray haired man, his daughter and his wife who had joined them. The little girl looked up at her father. "I don’t want to go daddy."

The man held his daughter tight as tears came to his eyes, he looked at Nathan and gave a small shake no. Nathan moved back to the family and crouched towards the little girl. "What is your name?" The little girl stuck out her hand to Nathan. "Mary." Nathan smiled as he shook the little girl’s hand. "You are very brave Mary..." Nathan looked at the gray haired man. "And so is your father." Nathan stood back up to address the rest of the group. "Everybody please relax for the rest of today, sleep, eat, train but please do not use any electronics. Tonight we will meet again and plan the next step for freeing our country."

It was 6pm, Nathan sat on his chest near the center of the camp site in awe, off in the distance he could see a couple of children building a snowman. Nathan had never seen snow like this in the south the entire group was mesmerized. Nathan closed his eyes and thought of last winter in Virginia he and Kayla had went ice skating, he loved to go ice skating with her it was one of the few places Nathan felt like a klutz but Kayla was so graceful..."Ice Princess" Nathan mumbled aloud to himself that’s what he called her when the snow fell on her soft caramel skin. He wished he could hold her...see her, just to hear her voice.

The crunch of snow woke him from his memory. "Everybody's started to gather." Darion said as he took a seat on a felled tree. Nathan lifted his head and opened his eyes. "Good."

Soon all of those able to fight had joined around the fire. Nathan lifted his head and opened up the conversation."Our next step in this fight is to free more people."

One of the men asked. "More buses like with us?" Nathan shook his head. "No that’s too small and it wouldn’t be long before they all had armed escorts. We can’t free the entire country on our own, but what we can do is throw a rock in the water. We want ripples we want people to wake up and fight for their freedom. The Jackson compound is a standby compound; there are only about 40000 people there on any given day. They are transporting people to different camps." Nathan stopped to think for a moment, he then asked the group. "Does anybody know where they were taking you?" A lady answered. "I heard New Orleans." The gray haired man whose name Nathan found out was Jacob said. "I heard that too but also I heard Gulfport because of the people fleeing from Texas east." The group grew very quiet at the reminder of the people in Texas, many still trying to come to terms that their own government could be in on such an atrocity. Even Nathan was shocked that they would go to such lengths.
